They can’t seem to get software figured out. Now when tracking a dog you don’t get to see distance, heading, or name on the map you just follow the tip of a line around. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback and letting us know about this issue. This should be fixed in upcoming version 5.3.2 ### 2/5 — New update is garbage *2026-05-09* The new update is terrible. The tracks won’t clear now. So when you track your dog at home or a place you frequent regularly you just get a map filled in with black lines. Garmin makes great hardware, but they’ve always been trash in the software department. I’m actively looking to move to a different hardware company that provides useable software for their products. I can only recommend Garmin if you don’t need software support for your device. **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. Have you tried the Track Length Management which will let you set a preferred track length, but also clear your tracks on the screen? I used to get Satellite with the Explorer App, but even after updating the Alpha app tonight, I get a stupid green screen & still have no idea where my dog is on my property. Two weeks ago they said they were working on it. Je me perds dans tous les fonds de carte, j’ai même pris un abonnement Outdoor Maps+ sans m’en apercevoir tellement il y a d’infos en plus. I have spent over 2 hours today trying to get the remote to pair to the app and it will not work. But this app is lacking significantly. The only saving grace is the alpha lte’s ability to connect to cell towers, which is great. It doesn’t help though if the app is horrendous. Dog tracking lags making tracking inaccurate. I unpaired the handheld to try to correct some problems and now it won’t pair with no explanation. The explore app also USED to let you track your dogs from the compatible Alpha tracking box. Why this app was ever created in the first place I’ll never know. A great app (the old explore app) lost part of its functionally to make the Garmin Alpha app. Now you have two apps both with partial functionality when the original explore app used to do everything the alpha app does and more. If I could give this Zero stars I would as it has no purpose. Now that the new version of explore was released my alpha box will pair with either the alpha app - or all of Garmin’s other apps (Tread, Explore, Messenger). The only one however that you can track on - is the Alpha app. Horrible update and app from Garmin’s app development team and as always they like to drop a new version mid hunting season that doesn’t work **Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback. I also enjoy looking at the distance the dogs ran that day. Also how far I walked. Merci d’avance ### 5/5 — Garmin alpha 300 *2024-06-16* Bonjour, je suis très satisfait de mon garmin alpha 300 ainsi que de mes collier tt25, j’aurais voulu savoir si il est possible avec un smartphone et l’application (alpha) que les collègues de chasse puissent suivre les chiens avec cette application ou il faut absolument qu’ils aient aussi une centrale type alpha 100; 200; 300 ? Pour les non initiés une carte google maps serait mieux adapté Pour ma part j’utilise une centrale garmin avec collier garmin de puis plus de 10 ans et j’en suis très satisfait. A few things I wish could be corrected is in your inventory tab. It would be nice to be able to share that or print it.
