### 3/5 — Great when it works

*2026-08-27, version 5.28*

Garmin! Please fix your software or OS or whatever is making my watch unpair from my phone almost daily. I’ve done all the settings you suggest and the airplane mode trick. I always have to do a hard reset to pair every single time. Half of the product is integration with the phone, your watches only work half of what is advertised. I’m gonna wait a little longer for a fix before I move on from Garmins for good. This has been a long known issue and if you won’t fix it, you’ll lose customers fast

### 2/5 — Inconsistent and slow

*2026-08-27, version 5.28*

The app never connects and loads activities automatically the first time. I’ve found it be incredibly slow and frustrating to use. You’ve go repeatedly close the app restart and turn on and off Bluetooth for it to receive activities from my Garmin watch. I only switched to Garmin because of its longer battery life life for backcountry trips and I’ve been very disappointed with the hole Garmin ecosystem. I’d switch back to an Apple Watch if it had the same battery life

### 2/5 — Alerts etc. don’t work when following a Garmin Coach Plan workout

*2026-08-25, version 5.28*

I like my watch but I’m mostly following a Coach Plan for my workouts. Unfortunately alerts - like turn around, live tracking, etc. - don’t work when you are in a workout which makes them useless.

### 2/5 — Old outdated

*2026-08-25, version 5.28*

Complex to understand and get to your stats the graphic design is outdated

### 2/5 — Bugs…

*2026-08-25, version 5.28*

Guys, you sell really cool watches and other stuff, but the app is full of bugs.

For instance: I navigate to the suggested connections, tap on one of the suggested contacts, and then navigate back to the suggested contacts list. Now the list’s size has doubled, with all suggested contacts duplicated.

Let’s see whether you’ll fix this or not. I’m a mobile developer myself, and I know you look into reviews from time to time.

Overall, the app makes up half of the gear buyers’ user experience - please pay attention to it accordingly.

### 3/5 — App Design Update

*2026-08-25, version 5.27.3*

I recently bought a Garmin cirqa (my first garmin product) and I was very disappointed with the app design. I’m coming from the amazfit Helios strap and it uses the zepp app, and that looks better than this connect app. The industry standard is the Whoop App, that’s what I expected for the connect app.

This is the same problem with the polar loop as well, and it’s not doing well in this market.

The Connect app needs to update quickly! Make it look like whoop or zepp app at the very least! Update the app and you’ll gain marketshare rapidly via word of mouth!

### 2/5 — Watch and app lose connection constantly

*2026-08-25, version 5.27.3*

they are so annoying to reconnect and I have lost many hikes to a mid hike disconnect

### 1/5 — Poor Connectivity

*2026-08-24, version 5.27.3*

Every few days, I need to unpair my watch and reconnect because Garmin Connect can’t recognize the watch. My phone shows bluetooth is connected to my Epix 2, but the app still shows the watch as not connected… Terrible experience and no permanent fix

### 1/5 — One year old watch loses Bluetooth twice a week

*2026-08-23, version 5.27.3*

$700 watch that’s a year old has to be constantly unpaired and paired, and sometimes factory reset, at least twice a week for losing connectivity. Is Garmin the most overrated tech company?

### 1/5 — Fix this

*2026-08-23, version 5.27.3*

Forcing an account login and breaking local Bluetooth hardware compatibility makes the device useless for privacy-conscious users.

### 1/5 — On iPhone?

*2026-08-23, version 5.27.3*

As a person who is too much into apple’s ecosystem, moving from an Apple Watch to Garmin [mainly due to its short battery life) wasn’t pain free. And of the main contributors to this pain is the connect! It doesn’t sync automatically, even if it’s running in the background with full access to everything! And sometimes it doesn’t synch even manually and you have to reset everything and delete the app and setup everything again.

### 1/5 — iPhone app constantly disconnecting

*2026-08-22, version 5.27.3*

Multiple times a day my app disconnects from my watch and I have to remove the device completely and re-pair and set the device up again. It’s driving me crazy. Never had this issue previously but for the past week it‘s started happening.

### 1/5 — Issues with my watch staying connected to the app

*2026-08-22, version 5.27.3*

With my new Fenix for some reason my app will not stay synced with my watch, I have emailed with Garmin support, they have even sent me a refurbished Fenix and for about 6 weeks that fixed the issue, now it’s back to not syncing. Phone is connected to my watch, receive all my notifications on my watch it just won’t sync to the app which is very frustrating when I’m trying to track my runs, swims and workouts. I have used Garmin since being in the marines and never had this issue in the past. I do not know if it’s an update issue or what is causing it.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth

*2026-08-21, version 5.27.3*

Barely works

### 1/5 — Index s2

*2026-08-21, version 5.27.3*

Ne marche plus avec dernier mise a jour

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2026-08-27, version 5.28*

Literally can’t believe how bad it is. Half the time I can’t get it to update. How is this a major company?

### 1/5 — Disconnects frequently

*2026-08-27, version 5.28*

Takes forever to connect to my HRM pro. I wish the software was as good as their hardware. Utter garbage. They should just vibe code a better app or give us the specifications of the hardware to build it ourselves

### 1/5 — Garbage software

*2026-08-26, version 5.28*

1. Fails to work over Bluetooth for things like music control more than 50% of the time

2. Syncing my watch to this app completely fails and will not work on random days. It’s a coin flip if I’ll actually be able to get the data from my watch into the app

3. Syncing (and literally every other aspect of this app) requires an internet connection. It takes a full minute for the app to load 3 numbers because literally nothing is kept locally, and all of your data is always and only ever kept on their servers. This makes it slow as hell, and it means that real “outdoorsy” people that these watches are marketed for can’t use these products until they go back to somewhere with wifi.

Seemingly no support or maintenance for all of these issues with basic functionality.

If you are reading this and considering a garmin, note that you get Temu quality for Apple prices. Buy something else.

### 1/5 — massive app, but needs online to display your data

*2026-08-26, version 5.28*

Why this app offloads all it's data to the Internet is beyond me. It's completely useless if you are not connected. I see why long term data cannot be stored on the device, but surely it wouldn't be that hard to store up to 4 weeks or so locally. could even be an option?

### 1/5 — New update disconnected Watch

*2026-08-26, version 5.28*

Tried everything and still won’t pair with phone

### 1/5 — Third time in a month

*2026-08-26, version 5.28*

3 times this month connection to watch glitch, instinct 2, rubbish app

### 1/5 — Adding workout

*2026-08-25, version 5.28*

After I tried to add a workout even when I selected for multiple times to set exercise for 30 sec and rest for 10 sec when I’m trying to save it will always says reps

### 1/5 — Connectivity

*2026-08-25, version 5.28*

It’s hard to understand why Garmin would require an internet connection to sync my treadmill activity to my app. It’s almost as if my activity isn’t paired with my phone but my phone is simply a modem between the watch and their servers. What is the purpose of this and who do you sell data to? As many others have stated connectivity with the app is hit and miss when pairing with your device but never when the app needs to sync to their servers. iPhone 16pro max and a tactix 7 will lose connectivity every couple of days and surely after every app update. Over the last 3 years with this watch and it’ll surely be my last one.

### 1/5 — Constant Connectivity Issues

*2026-08-25, version 5.28*

Past few months there have been constant problems with my fenix 6S and this app. Recent update it completely fails to pair. Previously have had to unpair and pair every time I wanted an activity to sync.. that went on for about a month. The pairing doesn’t recognise the watch immediately and it always takes two cycles.

### 1/5 — Painful

*2026-08-24, version 5.27.3*

Painful how often I have to delete and re install the app to connect every time it won’t just re pair and then you have to delete the device and connect it new again

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Buy the device, app is free

*2026-08-27, version 5.28*

App has great graphs and shows everything, gets regularly updates. No faults at all, syncs well to apple health and Strava and by offering it FREE shows how others are monetizing your data.

### 5/5 — Superior Data

*2026-08-26*

After having 4 Apple Watches I grew tired of the hamster wheel approach to activity tracking and goals. I was also tired of switching between watches because none of them could last a full day and night for sleep tracking. I purchased an entry level Forerunner and was blown away with how superior both the data and battery were. Intelligent data that was actually useful and only needing a charge once a week? What a dream. The user interface on the app isn’t quite as polished as Apple and has a bit of a learning curve but it’s not that bad; I picked it up quick. There is a lot you can do with building workouts, setting goals, tracking gear and the like. I feel like I use a lot of it but at the same time know I haven’t even scratched the surface really. I thought I would miss smart notifications and some functions more than I do, but I’ve actually enjoyed having a watch that is more watch than a very small not as useful phone on your wrist. Two years in now, absolutely no regrets I’d rebuy this Forerunner 100x over another Apple Watch. I still get nearly 7 days of battery and it works just as good as the first day I wore it. I’ll upgrade eventually but I can tell it won’t be caused by need like all my Apple Watches…it will be my choice. And I’m planning to get a higher end Forerunner that will give me even more useful data — worth every penny!

### 5/5 — Great app for tracking runs

*2026-08-23, version 5.27.3*

I use a garmin forerunner 55 to track mileage and whatnot for my high school track/XC, and this app is great for tracking my runs. I have it automatically upload to Strava, but I honestly look at this app more than Strava; it gives a lot more details and stats than Strava does

### 5/5 — One thing I really want to have on Garmin for years

*2026-08-23, version 5.27.3*

Loved Garmin a lot! Used cross different products for almost ten years! No complaints. Just one thing I really want to have for the software:

instead of the current AI summarized daily report in the subscription, it would be a game-changer to be able to generate training based on the sports I like: such as strength training to improve, swimming, squash and so on. All in one week, taking into account the feature of different sports and how much I can handle. Rather than only choose from specific running and strength training, which by itself needs 3-4 sessions each per week. This is brilliant for some serious runners, but I believe more and more general-sport amateurs also use Garmin products now. Just to add on that, I would be happy to subscribe for such functions, but I hesitate I lot to pay extra for the current AI summary in subscription.

Again, a big fan of Garmin and really want to keep using Garmin in the future. Just some thoughts I always had and might be interesting for you

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2026-08-21, version 5.27.3*

I can’t find a single thing to not like about this app. I absolutely love the graphs!!

### 5/5 — Good App

*2026-08-20, version 5.27.3*

Simple and easy to use

### 5/5 — My TOP choice!

*2026-08-16, version 5.27.3*

Always come back to Garmin. I absolutely love everything about the watch and ease of use. Very easy to use. I have used other watches including Apple but performance wise Garmin does it all. Garmin Connect is super straight forward and easy to navigate. No issues ever!

### 5/5 — Vivo active 5

*2026-08-15, version 5.27.3*

J’aime vraiment ma montre elle tout bien et que dire de la capacité de la batterie plusieurs jours sans la recharger

### 5/5 — Really good features

*2026-08-15, version 5.27.3*

Would be really good if there was a way to add for walking exercises that I’m carrying weight, not sure if it would change any of the stats post exercise

### 5/5 — love the app

*2026-08-14, version 5.27.3*

great app
