The stream will continuously buffer if there are too many people watching. Granted most of the shows people don’t watch but it makes watching the 2 most popular ones borderline impossible. Also if you are watching/listening to an archived episode and you need to pause it for any reason you cannot simply unpause it and resume playing. You need to go back and find the episode in the archives and start the episode from there. Absolutely frustrating. ### 2/5 — This app is rough. *2025-01-10, version 1.10.9* Luis and Ralph you need to work on this. It constantly freezes, in picture doesn’t seem to work. If you pause at all the entire app refreshes upon opening. Luckily it seems to have some memory of where it stopped at. ### 2/5 — App needs work *2025-01-05* I love the *content* of the app, but I hate the app itself. I wish it had picture-in-picture so I could still see what was on the screen while continuing to use my phone. Even that is a small complaint because at least the audio continues. My biggest complaint is if anything interrupts the podcast (phone call, quick talk to text, pausing, etc), I’m sent back to the Home Screen when I open the app back up. If paused for more then 2 minutes it won’t play anything and have to restart app. It won’t save any of recent stuff or load fully once you try to open the app yet again. ### 2/5 — Lotta issues but great content *2024-09-19* The app rarely works, same with safari or google i have to clear cache pretty often to access the high octane dashboard. Like the other review there’s media playback issues, when you use the skip buttons it leaves a permanent loading overlay over the video. What is the benefit of paying for a membership if none of the product is accessible. I have to delete my app and reinstall to watch things and if I let it play in the background, when I go back to the app to continue watching (while listening is working) the app crashes. When I reload the app it’s just a black screen then crashes. The site isn’t much different. I have to clear my cache to use it. This is unacceptable and Luis should be ashamed. G Mike and Alex I know you’re probably reading this. Get it together. Please. It never opens. Ralph and Luis need to fire the people that are clearly overcharging and the under delivering this app ### 1/5 — Scam *2024-06-26* I signed up for the free trial when they announced that they were about to end free trials. I couldn't log in and it said it was pending for a week. I tried logging in every day. Pending. Then they tried to charge my card. What a joke! I use a digital card that I turn off when I'm not using it so they didn't get any of my money. Trying to charge me when the trial well is over when I never got a trial is low even for Luis J Gomez. ### 1/5 — Don’t bother with it. *2024-06-23, version 1.10.7* The app is completely useless, just use the browser or wait until the show you like is released on YouTube. They’ll never get it right. 1/5 ### 1/5 — Junk made by trash people *2024-06-19* Now the app wont even open. What a total junk pile piece of trash. Low quality video, click play on a show and a random episode plays instead of the latest one. Forgets the login information regularly and wont remember password on apple devices. What else is obviously glaringly wrong with this thing, oh yeah, it doesnt OPEN! Pinwheeling puke. Half of the shows on the network are run by interns or other podcast production staff. Any successful podcast has left before having any reason to sign up to Gas to watch them. And somehow also the app makes my phone smell bad when its running. Only impressive thing is that stink tech. ### 1/5 — Just give up on the app *2024-05-24, version 1.10.7* It’s horrible, crashes constantly. ### 1/5 — Background play has not worked for since launch *2024-04-30* You cannot listen to a pod in the background without the app crashing. It may not be immediately but within the length of an episode guaranteed crash and you lose not only where you where in the episode but what show you were even watching. Picture in picture is also non-functional making the website still the better experience even on mobile. It’s just crazy to me that GaS as a company is willing to pay someone to make such a shoddy product when it could be done right. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Years of Support… For This? *2025-08-14* Right now the app is dead. Just a black screen. RSS Feed just not working at all either. Even before all this it was slow and buggy. It never saved your spot in a podcast ever, so you’d start over every single time. The list goes on and on. No fixes, no support and no updates. Been here for years but this is not what people are paying for. At this rate I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of longtime supporters just start walking away. It’s just not worth the hassle anymore. ### 1/5 — App no longer loads *2025-08-10* As the review says, when you click the app now, it just goes to a black screen and hangs. The app won’t even load. Even when it did work previously, it was clunky to navigate, wouldn’t allow you to customize a homepage, so I had to constantly filter through a bunch of podcasts that I’m never going to listen to, just to get to the ones that I do wanna listen to. It also, for some reason, would never remember where you were in a podcast and wouldn’t resume the episode. Just a lot of bugs with no real way to get any kind of support for the app. I’m a longtime fan of the network and I’ll continue to support, but this is not what I paid for. I’ve been a subscriber since 2018. Some support and transparency would be good. ### 1/5 — Extremely Frustrating App *2025-07-11* Recently got a gas digital subscription on the web browser and the website crashes and restarts you to the main page every time you switch to another app on your phone. Downloaded the gas digital app and same thing happens. This means every time I’m watching an episode and I go to answer a text on another app it’ll make me restart from the beginning main page and find the episode/time all over again. I like the feature where you can look up episodes with certain comedians, but it is not consistent. If I look up one comedians name it’ll pop up, but won’t work with someone else’s name. Love the gas digital content. There is 0 complaints there. It randomly stops playing, and if you pause it then it will not resume where you picked up, it will treat you like you’re logging into the app for the first time. When you press watch on the show you are looking at, it starts a random episode. AirPlay doesn’t work also, and I have Apple TV. This app is so frustrating, it constantly crashes after you pause. It's so inconvenient to use that I prefer to watch everything edited on YouTube. If you like their style then give this a crack. The app needs a little work. Need airplay within the app video. Screen in screen play. Does not show up in media widget player. For some reason won’t play Bluetooth with Uconnect.
