## What is GasTab?

GasTab records each drive through a BLE OBD2 adapter — route map, fuel economy, fuel cost per trip, and driving scores. Log fill-ups on the web dashboard, and the following trips use your receipt gas price. Mark work trips and export mileage for expense reports.

The iPhone app is free. Trips stay on your iPhone by default. Web upload is optional. United States, Canada, and Australia.

Requires a BLE OBD2 adapter and a gasoline vehicle with an OBD2 port (U.S. light-duty from 1996 onward).

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.9 (52) — 2026-09-05

GasTab prices each trip based on the fuel your car used and the pump price you paid. This update is about getting that cost right — not a round-number guess.

Receipt TIME: Log a fill-up on the web dashboard with the time you were at the pump, not just the date. Same-day trips that started before that fill keep the previous gas price; trips after it use the new one.

That is the point of GasTab: greater precision. Your receipt, your OBD fuel, trip by trip.

Clearer first connect On Live, Getting started now says it straight: connect the adapter here with Start — don’t pair it in iPhone Settings — then drive.

### 2.1.8 (49) — 2026-08-29

More reliable connection to OBD2 BLE adapters, including iPhone 13.

### 2.1.7 — 2026-08-23

Clearer listing for trip gas cost from OBD fuel and your receipt.
Easier access-token field when setting up optional web upload.

### 2.1.6 (46) — 2026-08-11

Thanks for driving with GasTab!

• More reliable recording when you lock the screen, switch apps, or use CarPlay — trips are less likely to end early from a brief OBD drop.
• Better handling of auto start/stop at lights (longer wait while stopped before a trip auto-ends).
• Reconnect grace when you return to the app mid-trip.
• SmoothOP driving-score calibration tuned for typical commutes.
