Otherwise I love the features! ### 2/5 — Wish I had a better option *2020-07-16, version 2.0.7* Only using this because nothing else fits my door. Inconsistent notification and motion sensor triggering. This is problematic because you cannot unlock without motion detection. Company promised updates but never happened. Very disappointing ### 3/5 — No simple way to delete multiple files at once *2020-06-22, version 2.0.7* The gate itself is great. The ability to assign individual pin’s is great. When it comes to media management it falls short. There is no way to select multiple files at once for deletion. Having to swipe left on every single file is tedious and time consuming. Love the idea of this, but this morning I walked past the front door and noticed that it was unlocked!!! Last night I checked to be certain that my front door was locked. What the heck!? Calling them now for tech support. ### 2/5 — Poor Now, Has Potential *2019-03-29, version 6.1.12* Video too slow to react. Audio sporadic. Taken away video storage unless you subscribe and pay. Never delivered on allowing you to lock/unlock door remotely. I would recommend you look at other products on the market. ### 2/5 — Not reliable *2019-02-05, version 1.6.8* Notification of motion is slow... and sometimes does not happen. Notifications of low batteries sometimes do not occur. I don’t like that we now have to pay an additional fee to see the video!! ### 3/5 — App needs work *2018-09-02, version 1.6.4* The app itself is almost useless, the notifications are super slow and it constantly logs me out for no reason which has just become a nuisance at this point. Seems to always be WiFi connection issues and it’s supposed to notify you when to charge which it doesn’t do too bad at. The product itself: I bought this because it packs all the features you could want into one device but should have waited for a second gen. First one I had broke within a few days and they sent me a new one free of charge. New one still works but sometime it doesn’t rotate all the way when unlocking. The video isn’t too bad, the motion video can not be turned off so it picks up a bunch of useless videos. Can’t speak to the other features as I don’t use them. It can take a while for new pins to be able to be used once added just a heads up, not an instant process. ### 1/5 — Not ready for prime time *2018-03-28, version 1.6.0* I’ve had for about 6 months now. Pin works, but that’s about it. Latency is terrible so the ring/video function is unusable. Video and sound quality is terrible and about once a month the battery decides it’s just going to fair after 8 hours of use requiring me to re-setup to fix, which I assume means it’s some backend or firmware issue. Significant improvements required soon or I’ll just have to try out another smart lock from a more established company. Also, please give some insight into roadmap. In-app “what’s new” hasn’t been updated in forever and zero transparency into prioritization. ### 1/5 — Very disappointed. *2018-03-22, version 1.4.0* For a smart lock it isn’t very smart. You can only lock/unlock when there is motion. When someone pushes the call button it alerts you, but good luck getting it to connect and talk to them. App is no longer functioning ### 1/5 — App does not work’ *2021-04-06, version 2.0.7* App stopped working one day (no notifications) and has not worked since! Stay away. ### 1/5 — Poor quality product *2020-10-14, version 2.0.7* I purchased 3 locks and all 3 failed within one year. At first they functioned fairly well. As several months went by the locks would not retain a charge for even two days! One lock failed altogether. The company agreed to send a replacement. The replacement was never received. After multiple requests on my part and no response from the Gate company I had to replace the 3 locks. I would never recommend this inferior product. JLE! ### 1/5 — Good for a lock but not a camera *2020-07-20, version 2.0.7* This took forever to ship and she app is almost useless the notifications are super slow and it doesn’t even record things at the right time this thing is a joke if you want a good camera get a ring instead. ### 1/5 — Will never be ready *2019-10-16, version 2.0.2* This lock requires so much work, its never going to be fully featured. If you want to remotely unlock, some has to wake it from its sleep. Same thing if you want to remotely lock it. The lock now requires a subscription service, for what used to be free. They should have tied in their video into HomeKit that way the video could be remotely accessed and saved on iCloud. Auto Unlock is never going to be a feature on this device which almost all other smart locks have. When are you going to start fixing all the problems? Make it work as advertised! ### 1/5 — This thing is a joke *2018-11-17, version 1.6.5* Bought this lock off of Indiegogo and it took forever to ship. One I received it I had nothing but problems. Keypad codes wouldn't work, people got locked out, camera feed was super delayed, battery was saying it was dead when fully charged, two way audio was horrible. Support was helpful initially and they even sent a replacement lock, but that one didn't work either. App was super buggy from the get go. Finally just chalked it up as a loss and bought a Nest Hello and Yale X Lock such has been so much better. Take my advice look elsewhere. ### 1/5 — EVEN WORSE than my last review *2018-10-19, version 1.6.5* No fix for the issue with the battery telling me it’s low even though i just charged it, and now since iOS 12, despite updates and uninstalling the app and reinstalling, it just get a black screen with audio when i try to watch a recorded motion video. you guys literally have one job. why is this so hard to fix? ### 1/5 — Crap product *2018-03-29, version 1.6.0* Bought smart gate lock less than 2 months back. We live by a lake and being able to take my dog for a walk without carrying keys is so nice! I just use the code to get in and out It also automatically locks after 5-15 minutes (depending how you set it)) after the door shuts. This is great for when you have small children. Also we travel a lot and we are able to give a separate code to those who take care of our pets and home. We can see when people come and go from our home too. The camera can see from our front door to the street will record movement by motion detectors We recently traveled to Europe and stayed in several Airbnb apartments. We wish they had the Gate lock! ### 5/5 — I feel secure with gate video clips of entry *2019-10-21, version 2.0.2* I have been using Gate for 6 months now and I’m really happy with my purchase. Gate does the job of a camera doorbell and a keypad door lock all in one device. I used the app instructions to install and it was super easy and took only 10 min. I feel safe about my house since I can see through the camera if anybody comes to my door. Nobody can enter the house unless they are given a pin code. This has been very handy for our house keeper and the contractors who came to install our hardwood floor.
