## What is Gathr?

Planning something with a guest list? Gathr keeps the invitations, the replies, and what it all costs in one place — so you can stop running it out of a group chat and a spreadsheet.

Free. No ads, nothing to upgrade, and no charges to you or your guests.

INVITES YOUR GUESTS CAN ACTUALLY USE

Send one link however you already talk to people — WhatsApp, text, email. Guests reply in their browser without downloading anything or making an account. Their answers land in your guest list automatically.

A GUEST LIST THAT STAYS HONEST

See who's coming, who's undecided, and who hasn't replied yet. Track plus-ones, sort by how you know people, and nudge the ones still owing you an answer — without texting twenty people one at a time.

ONE EVENT, SEVERAL DAYS

A wedding isn't one event. Give the mehendi, the ceremony and the reception each their own time, place and guest list, so people only see what they're actually invited to. Each function tracks its own replies.

MONEY, WITHOUT THE AWKWARD CONVERSATION

Log what things cost and who paid. Split a bill the way it really happened — one person, or three in different amounts — and Gathr works out who owes who at the end.

If you're paying for everything yourself, it stays out of your way: log a cost with just the amount. The splitting tools only turn up when someone else chips in.

Gathr never moves money. It keeps the record straight so you don't have to.

FREE TICKETS WITH DOOR CHECK-IN

Give every guest a unique QR code and scan them on the way in. Free tickets only — there's nothing to pay and nothing to refund.

PHOTOS IN ONE PLACE

Keep every shared album link together instead of scattered across five conversations.

BUILT FOR IPHONE AND IPAD

Works properly on both, with a layout that fits the screen it's on.

Made in Edmonton by The Big Head. Gathr is free, and it stays free.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.5.0 — 2026-08-11

Your events, easier to see.

Event pages now give the screen to the work. Open Guests or Finance and the content starts where you're looking, instead of below a full-size poster.

Guests, reorganised.
Multi-day events get a tab for each function — mehendi, ceremony, reception — so you can work through one guest list at a time instead of decoding labels crammed onto every name. Filters read clearly, nothing gets cut off, and the screen shows guests instead of buttons.

Finance is simpler.
One screen instead of two modes, with balances a tap away when you need them. Logging an expense now takes just the amount — a name is optional.

Gathr looks right on iPad.
Text and buttons sit in a comfortable column instead of stretching the full width of the display.

Upgrading is safe.
Events created in older versions come across intact.

Still completely free. No ads, no upgrades, no charges to you or your guests.

### 2.4.0 — 2026-08-04

Finance, rebuilt.

Split costs the way they actually happen. One person can pay for
something the whole group shares, or two people can split a single
bill — the photographer paid half by you, half by your sister. Every
expense now tracks who paid and who owes, separately, so nobody gets
told they're settled when they're still out of pocket.

Gathr works out who owes whom and shows the exact payments that
square everyone up. It never moves money — it just keeps the books.

• Split each expense with a different group, not one list for the
  whole event
• Unpaid bills count toward what people owe, so a quote nobody has
paid yet isn't treated as free
• Record a settle-up when someone pays you back
• See the arithmetic behind every balance

Guests and invites
• Pick specific guests and send only them an invite
• Guests with just a name can be invited — share their link and
  Gathr tracks it
• The roster shows names, not email addresses
• The RSVP web page works in dark mode, says which function you're
invited to, and no longer forgets your answer if sending fails

Everywhere else
• Text is readable throughout — several labels were genuinely too
faint to read, especially in dark mode
• Fixed guest actions that couldn't be tapped at all
• Fixed a privacy setting that was being ignored: hiding your guest
  list now actually hides it
• Dozens of layout fixes — venue names, dates and buttons no longer
  cut off mid-word

### 2.3.0 — 2026-07-15

This update is a top-to-bottom redesign of the two screens you use most inside an event: Finance and Guests.

FINANCE, SIMPLIFIED
• A clean, at-a-glance dashboard replaces the old endless scroll — your budget, what needs paying, and where the money's going, all up front.
• Everything else is one tap away in three simple sections: Overview, Expenses, and People.
• Filter spending by function (mehndi, ceremony, reception…) to see exactly what each one costs.
• Fixed the budget math so "paid," "owed," and "who paid what" always add up.

GUESTS, REBUILT
• Your guest list is now front and center the moment you open the tab.
• One clear set of filters — Going, Maybe, Not invited, Awaiting reply — with counts that always match the list.
• Add guests faster: the name field is ready to type the instant you open it.
• Guests are grouped by status so a long list is easy to scan.
• Long names display in full, and every guest's actions live in one tidy menu.
• Bulk-marking guests "Going" now checks your capacity first.

POLISH THROUGHOUT
• Reordered, clearer tab bar so your most-used screens come first.
• Guests only ever see who's coming — never other guests' contact details.
• Cleaner empty and loading states, better contrast, and full Dynamic Type support.

Thanks for using Gathr! Questions or ideas? We'd love to hear them.

### 2.2.0 — 2026-07-07

A brand new Gathr, inside and out.

A signature new look
- Elegant editorial typography and event cards designed like real tickets, with date stubs and tear lines.
- Textured event posters, a floating dock, and colors that match your event type throughout.
- A refreshed design on iPad too, with a full sidebar and layouts made for the bigger screen.

Smarter money tools
- Split any cost between people: if one person pays 2000 and another pays 1000 on the same bill, Gathr tracks exactly who paid what.
- A new Finance overview with a budget ring, spending by category, and a Settle Up view that shows who owes whom.

Better planning
- Each function now has its own guest list, so you choose exactly who is invited to what.
- New functions start on your event date and can have their own locations.
- Invite everyone in one tap or share a single link to your group chat.
- Create events faster with no scrolling, and duplicate any event to reuse it.

Plus many fixes and improvements throughout.

### 2.0.0 — 2026-06-15

RSVP without the app — invites just got a major upgrade.

- Guests can now RSVP straight from your invite link in any web browser, even if they don't have Gathr. They just tap Going, Maybe, or Can't go and add a guest count.
- Web RSVPs show up automatically in your guest list, so you see every response in one place.
- Invite links are faster and more reliable, and open instantly.
- Your guest list stays private. People you invite only see the event details, never your other guests' contact info.
- Performance improvements and bug fixes.
