### 1/5 — Very Frustrating

*2019-05-21, version 2.0.0*

Constantly dropping out whilst viewing live

### 1/5 — Suspicious

*2018-07-28, version 1.8.16*

No reviews

### 1/5 — FRUSTRATING TIME WASTER

*2018-07-21, version 1.8.16*

Your app is totally useless. All I wanted to do was view an auction. You try to view and THEN it tells you that you have to be logged in. So you go through that process and then it doesn’t recognise you anyway.

Perhaps all this needs to explained up front so that people don’t waste there time with it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Broken app

*2025-10-03, version 2.8.2*

Phone verification is broken. It says Error; Authenticate no matter what I do. Tried different phones and logging in and out.

### 1/5 — Crashes constantly

*2025-01-17, version 2.6.5*

Have never been able to watch an auction from start to finish without the app crashing. Very irritating.

### 1/5 — Avoid

*2024-11-23, version 2.6.5*

There is no way to have your account deleted or personal information removed. Avoid at all costs

### 1/5 — On demand auctions don’t work and keeps exiting

*2024-08-01, version 2.6.5*

fix your on demand auctions from other states. some of them have a loading screen and doesn’t go further and error messages where video on demand not available. The ACT auctions are an example.Fix it up please. Also the app exits prematurely. Not good enough

### 1/5 — Waste of developer time

*2024-01-31, version 2.6.5*

This app was a rubbish experience. The need to jump between properties for auction for the feed just creates multiple opportunities for the feed to drop out. No information on the property shown in the feed. I tried to use it for 1 hour to watch a series of consecutive auctions and lost connectivity no less than 15 times. Properties appeared then disappeared. The app logged off completely twice. To be quite frank it was a complete joke.

### 1/5 — Tech needs to be improved a lot!

*2022-06-04, version 2.4.5*

Search function is very bad. Right now I’m unable to search the property that has finished the auction to see sold price.

And even I’m in Queensland it has my location enabled it gives me results from Melbourne and I assume it gives me my surrounding suburbs?!

UX/UI also very poor I think need hire engineers and designers to improve especially in this industry people use realestate and domain app and just feel the difference is too big.

### 1/5 — GAVL review

*2022-02-26, version 2.4.5*

I found the speed of the website slow and it was nothing to do with my internet speed which is usually very fast. It played catch up a number of times and I was in a hurry.

### 1/5 — Rubbish!!!

*2022-01-31, version 2.4.5*

Would give this a minus is I could. Rubbish to use. Can’t reenter email address if wrong letter typed in and won’t verify.

### 1/5 — Absolutely useless

*2019-09-21, version 2.0.5*

I had this app working ok in 2017 for the auction of my own place, but since then the app won’t open. All I get is an error message saying “Loading features please wait (code:080)” I uninstalled then reinstalled - still the same problem, both on IPhone & Ipad - doesn’t work on anything. Very frustrating.
Gavl, please explain?

### 1/5 — Liers

*2019-08-03, version 2.0.2*

They made me download the app considering I was supposed to work for them recording a auction through it but they did breach and what I saw is that they are trying to position this app cheating people offering jobs to win app downloads and views for a YouTube video we need to watch. Please be professionals!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Innovative, well thought out and easy to use

*2019-01-23, version 1.9.9*

I loved the whole user experience with GAVL.

Easy to sign up and verify. Simple to navigate around and find properties.

It’s going to save me so much time not having to go to auctions to do research. Awesome feature that you can see previous sold as well so I can see in real time what similar properties are going for.

All in all very impressed. Even if this app doesn’t save me money picking a great buy (which is highly likely) it’s going to save me many Saturday’s of travelling around!

Everyone who wants to buy a house at auction should get this app.

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2018-08-18, version 1.9.0*

I’ve been using Gavl for a while now as a real estate agent and find it very useful for buyers and vendors to watch the auction live when they can’t physically make it to the auction. Keep up the good work

### 3/5 — Good app, but a couple of bugs

*2020-11-29*

The streaming seems good and the auction search is good, but as the bids come through on a live viewing, the prices don’t appear on screen. The boxes show but no $ values. 3 stars until they fix this bug.

### 3/5 — Good and bad

*2019-03-09, version 1.9.10*

Good: to be able to watch auctions live.

Bad: Should have option to filter by state And it still hasn’t verified me to bid.

### 2/5 — Sub standard authentication

*2025-04-07, version 2.8.2*

There are 2 major things wrong with his authentication interface:
- It does not allow for the use of a password manager
- And the more egregious issue is that Passwords are capped to a max length of 16 characters, which for an app that allows for users to make biddings on houses and purchase homes through it’s interface is simply shocking. The final straw is that there is no indication for a password having a max length of 16 characters despite 16 characters being the recommended minimum length and as such the use of a password manager adds considerable convenience.

I apologise for my bad review and would be happy to remove if the developers decide to change these glaring faults in the application interface. Before I’d even gotten to any features.

### 2/5 — What happened to other states auctions?

*2025-03-01, version 2.6.5*

where are auctions from other states? Seems to be only in Victoria? You used to have them. what’s going on? also auctions from act don’t work from past archive auctions.they remain in a loading state. This is really not good enough.App is supposed to work properly.

### 2/5 — Couldn’t bid via the app on my mobile phone

*2020-12-13, version 2.4.0*

The bidding buttons weren’t coming up (despite being registered to bid via Gavl) during an auction. I had to call the estate agent to make bids over the phone. I couldn’t hear much of the auctioneer so estate agent had to repeat things to me over the phone.

Overall, a pretty stressful experience.

### 2/5 — Awful interface

*2020-07-13, version 2.2.9*

It’s difficult to use and unresponsive at times. Only downloading it because the estate agent told me if I don’t view the live video then the landlord won’t consider my application for a property. I didn’t even have time to read the terms and conditions so who knows what’s in there. I suggest using it through the browser and enduring the painfully slow videos it streams.

### 2/5 — Be warned

*2020-04-23, version 2.2.5*

The app works well but after I’ve viewed some inspections I have been constantly bombarded with phone calls from agents. I don’t actually recall giving any permission for my phone number to be shared with agents. I feel like there needs to be an option where you can request to be called.

I looked at roughly half a dozen houses just to test out the app and I’ve had no fewer than 5 phone calls from agents. So yay.. now my number is in their sales database. Thanks Gavl...

### 2/5 — No very useful for someone outside of Victoria

*2018-11-23, version 1.9.8*

Can’t seem to browse for auctions anywhere other than Victoria. Searched for each and every other state, no results. I don’t think it’s coincidence that on a Saturday, there’s no other auctions than those in Victoria.
