I don't know what's gone wrong but the GayTimes I knew had more than what I received today which is a magazine which looks like it's trying to play catch-up and more than 75% of the entire magazine was of guys in clothing and not what I love to see. Even the front cover of the magazine has changed. The front of the magazine has no info what will be inside the magazine and the front page and back page are much thicker paper than what I've gotten for years. I like boy George and have no issues with him but if this magazine is a taste of what's to come in the new management, I may have to stop subscribing as if I want to see fashion and what's the newest type of clothing I can read "departures" magazine or Vogue. I know someone was fired for nasty tweets or something but I have literally never been as shocked as I was today when I opened the packing of the magazine and saw the font style changed and no info of what's in the magazine such as teases to get ones attention to read what's in the magazine. I look back to Novembers magazine and it has the image of "call me by your name" but also has things like "LOVE WILL TEAR OZ APART-The toxic marriage vote that's changing Australia forever" I just want to know that the next issue of Januarys GayTimes will have more than what I've received today for the December issue. ### 2/5 — Jan issue *2015-12-22, version 4.9.86* Jan issue keeps crashing out as soon as I start. You have a never ending loading/working indicateo and no content appears ... Tried uninstall/reinstall, rebooting device in between. Removing all other app from memory.. No luck. Keep it up! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Another magazine ripoff *2020-09-29, version 7.0.0* I have subscribed to Gay Times for 10 years, have just downloaded the new app and guess what, only one year of magazines now on the app all the others in my library gone. All that money wasted, all those years. Gay Times tried to sign up customers recently for an extra charge to get greater access and then this is what they do to loyal customers. I intend now to cancel my subscription with iTunes and will never purchase this rubbish magazine again. Most of it is now photos and very little editorial, it’s been going downhill for some time but I stayed loyal and purchased, not anymore. I intend to tell all my friends to give up this ripoff magazine. ### 1/5 — Back Issues Stolen *2019-03-23, version 6.0.4* I had a few years of back issues in the app and now they’ve disappeared and won’t recover. I feel I’ve been robbed. ### 1/5 — Dismal *2017-12-26, version 4.9.101* Until the autumn of 2017, this was a great magazine - that was until the entire editorial staff was brutally sacked and replaced by cheaper (in every sense) millennial interns who cannot string a coherent sentence together. It is so bad, that some articles are now simply incoherent gibberish. And let’s not even get started on the convicted felon who adorned, and was celebrated, on the cover of the relaunch. As an object lesson in how to ruin a great magazine in two months, this is perfect. Alas, that’s the only thing it’s now good for. (Not rating it with the star either) ### 1/5 — DO NOT TRUST APPLE!!! *2014-04-27, version 4.9.43* Approximately the beginning of 2013, I had downloaded DNA & Gay Times magazine app that work in conjunction with Apple's newsstand app. After downloading these apps I purchased a 12 month subscription of DNA, several individual issue of DNA, and a 6 month subscription to Gay Times. The app operated marginally at best. These apps would crash and lose the data of my magazine subscription in which I would have to constantly redownload this data. My DNA subscription was automatically renewed for another 12 months in January of 2014. Sometime between March and April of 2014 I had noticed these two apps had crashed again. I deleted these two apps from my iPad and redownloaded them back on my iPad, which normally corrects issues with apps that have crashed. (This is also a solution Apple recommends to fix issue with apps that have crashed.). However after replace these apps back on my iPad, they would continue to fail and would not restore my collection of magazines that I have purchased. I contacted the Apple's iTunes Store to discuss the issue I was having. After discussing my issue with Robert a iTunes supervisor, I expressed to him that if Apple nor it's developer of these apps is going to maintain the integrity of these apps I wanted a full refund of the monies I had paid them. After a lengthy discussion with Robert, he did not address trying to resolve issues with these apps and only offered a refund of the most current subscription. I feel in this case with the lack of maintaining these apps Apple has failed to offer me what I have purchased which are digital magazine. Apple's refusal to refund me for all digital media I have purchased on my Apple iPad via these two apps is considered stealing data from me. I think it is disappointing that a Company like Apple would steal from the consumers that help build it to the multimillion dollar company it day! ### 1/5 — Edited… very disappointed *2014-03-13* You will pay full price for an issue that is not a full issue. They edit the pictures, ads, everything.
