Occasionally it would shut off. But since I updated it it doesn’t work at all! It shut off and no amount of touching the play button could get it to play again. WBUR here I come ### 3/5 — Stream still buggy *2026-03-28* The app has improved alot but the stream still glitches and cuts out making it so you have to close the app and reopen it. ### 3/5 — Focus on Audio stability first, not UI and other features *2026-03-23, version 7.4.4* I want to have a bulletproof experience with audio playback. That means no interruptions or glitches that stop playback midstream (happens occasionally in iOS, and much worse on Android, notably when moving outside WiFi range). Then if playback was interrupted by some glitch, don’t serve me another 15 second ad. This app has improved over time, and that’s greatly appreciated. Please bring more focus on stability. I use this app daily as an on-phone radio, and have no desire to use it for video playback or reading written news articles. The reason for a 4⭐️ and not 5 is: The discussions sometimes are perfect to the point and relevant, and sometimes stray. As non-Boston resident some topics tend to be unrelated to my needs. Wish there were specific time and weekdays for when Chuck Todd, John King, Julliette Kayyem, Andrea Cabral, Judge Nancy G etc are on the program to talk of National or State-wide news. ### 2/5 — Newer isn’t better *2025-12-17, version 6.3.15* The old version of the GBH app was much easier to navigate. Well, this one has more photos and more glitz. It doesn’t really improve the navigation experience. It was much easier for me to find programs on the old app. That is programs that I want to listen to. None of this will stop me from supporting GBH of course but it’s a little disappointing. It is too bad that this can’t hold up. ### 4/5 — Facelift *2025-12-10* They’ve made some visual changes to the app which have improved the UI and navigation. Nice! Unfortunately, the stream still cuts out all the time, requiring you to constantly reconnect and listen to more promotions, while missing critical parts of the radio shows. It’s frustrating that hosts regularly promote the app, and I want to scream at my radio / phone “make it work better before constantly pushing it!” ### 4/5 — Jim *2025-12-09, version 6.3.15* The app works fine and is reasonably easy to navigate. Clicking on “listen live” during my favorite shows is an easy way to tune in when I’m in a hurry. The tech team needs to get this right before the station looses listeners and supports. But one needs to know whats going on to some point. The discussions i hear on GBH are thoughtful and decent and humane. I feel what i hear is absolutely trustworthy and true.
