The user interface does not operate as you would expect from such a large company. In the last few weeks, the garage door opener has not been able to connect to Wi-Fi. Starting today, I am not even able to log into the app. It appears as though all support for this app has ceased. without being able to login to the app, or connect the garage door openers to Wi-Fi, they are essentially no better than a 1960s craftsman garage door opener. I bought these garage door openers specifically because they have Wi-Fi capability. No response from ryobi customer service on this app. And no response from this developer. So now I have three bricks installed in my garage ceiling. Currently the app is reporting one bar on the back up battery I’ve tested two batteries both are fully charge but yet it still shows one bar for each battery I’m OK with that. ### 5/5 — Works great! *2021-04-03, version 1.23.9* I don’t know why so many people are having trouble getting this app to work. I have iPhone 7plus so older phone, too and it works every time. I don’t even have to be on my household WiFi for it to work. Once everything is synced up, it works even over the cellular network. It just takes 5 or 10 extra seconds for the system to respond because of the remote connection but it does the job every time. ### 5/5 — Latest update fixed all issues *2020-03-23, version 1.23.7* Before the update, the app did work to open & close my garage motor, but it didn’t show the status of whether it was open or not. After the latest update, the open/closed status shows correctly and I even started to get push notifications like I’m supposed to. The app even shows a timestamp of when the door was last opened or closed. I’m glad the devs got this app updated - better late than never! Cheers ### 5/5 — Works as advertised *2019-12-15* I have had almost every garage door opener manufactured to date. I recently had a martin garage door go out on my three bay garage. I decided to try the this Ryobi because extras that can be added along with a easy battery backup. It installed in less than two hours with the addition of a extension for my 10’ door. I have a iPhone 8 and the app has worked great. I live in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and I have opened and closed the door from the backside of my property approximately 1 mile away. There is a delay though I have not had it delay more than 20 seconds. It is easy to know if the garage door is opened or closed because it states it on the home screen of he app. Great product and will be changing the other two out as required to the Ryobi ### 5/5 — Awesome features! *2019-01-04, version 1.22.3* This app is amazing! The ability to open and close the garage door and see the status is fantastic; along with turn on the accessory ports. A few times it has been slow to in the “Loading GDOs” screen but it’s improved significantly with updates! I was able to control the GDO in real time from over 150 miles away! Poor ratings need to be considered with a grain of salt; this app only gets better as updates to fix issues are rolled out. ### 5/5 — Changed my life after 1.22.2 *2018-12-14* When I first purchased the garage door, I was excited, had all the bells and whistles, looked great. Installed the app, had issues getting it to connect. Only works on 2.4Ghz and I had 2.4 turned off. Then it worked fantastic for about a month. It helps with my mild OCD and not having to turn around again and again. Then it stopped, had to re-do, worked for awhile, then re-do, repeat. I had about given up. Still happy with the opener, but annoyed by the frequent dropping from WiFi, poor alert capabilities, and drop of iPad version. This all changed after 1.22.2. I gave it another go. It’s been fantastic and reliable. Even lost power to the house a few times for 4+ hours and reconnected to WiFi without intervention. Alerts are now consistent on my phone for open, close, after hours, and the iPhone version works on the iPad. Between the app, all the accessories on the garage door opener that I can control remotely, and the opener itself, it’s absolutely wonderful. ### 5/5 — App works as intended *2018-09-20, version 1.22.2* I notice that the issue people are having with the app is them not following setup install info correctly ,if u jump a step and find that your on screen display don’t say door open or door close on phone screen simply hit the (remove account) red button and start set up over again and go slowly and follow on screen instructions and this is if you had set up the garage components correctly ,so in other words if u have it working via your phone or tablet but u just not getting notifications then this is what u need to do to fix that issue ,most app works great for me after setting it up the correct way love it . ### 4/5 — When is it going to work with Alexa? *2024-08-19, version 1.24* I remember setting this App up in the past but it wasn’t working well.
