No wider range 11 speed cassettes, 11-28, 11-32 and 11-34 are now common for road bikes. No options for the new 1x gear sets at all. I don’t recommend that you spend anything on this to “unlock” the additional features. Stuck in the dark ages, obviously developed by cyclists with knackered knees who grind up every hill. If 11 speed is the current standard there are limited cassettes and chainrings. Didn’t see a 52/36 combo anywhere or a 11-32 if this is about selection provide the information required to assist in the selection. ### 1/5 — Dont bother I paid for upgrade, too limited not worth 4.49 *2017-02-15, version 3.3.0* Own the upgrade version and they wont let me write a review- Dont waste your money, UNTIL they truly upgrade very limited for road bikes Ive used 54,55,56 big rings - they show zip who cares if cassette, & tyre size are the only variables. Im on 55:42 with 11:28 dont know why this app suggests upgrade? However, they are useless if you can't add your own gear size and many common sizes are not available. Lots of prescribed options for off the shelf cassettes, etc., but I'd prefer a custom option. ## Most praised reviews (5 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Very useful *2019-06-08* Was able to enter custom rings and cassette from an older MTB as I'm shopping for a different cassette, and this app works wonderfully. Only flaw I found so far is that the Gain graphs seem off, probably because it doesn't have a setting for crank length. I'm basing my decision mostly on cadence though, so gain is just a curiosity really. Thanks for this app! ### 5/5 — Excellent gear calculator *2017-04-27* I have used this to compare 1x11 , 2x11 , 3x10, and 2x10 Mountain bike gearing for 29, 26 and 650b wheel sizes. It really helped me understand what the gains and losses were with different solutions. I hope they update the app so it will work with the next release of IOS. I would even pay to upgrade this app. ### 4/5 — Yes, it DOES do modern setups! *2020-08-04, version 3.4.0* I’ve used this app on and off for years and it’s the only one I’ve found that gives you a graphic display of your gear ratios. The app allows you to save up to five configurations with different chainring and cassette combinations and, for example, do “what-ifs” to an existing setup, which can be very useful when considering an upgrade. There are two reviews on here that tell you the app is outdated (“in the dark ages”) because it doesn’t list the latest cassettes or chainring setups. Oh dear! Are they so “up to date” that they can’t do anything for themselves? If the guy wants a 1x chainring and it isn’t listed then all he has to do is create his own “custom” one. Yes, it takes a lot of effort because he has to press the “+” button, type a name for it then type the number of teeth it has, which can take a novice nearly 15 seconds, but he’ll soon find he can get this down to down to 10 seconds or less with a little practice. When he’s mastered creating his 1x chainring he can do the same for his “modern” wide-range cassettes. Who knows, it might give him the confidence to blow-up his own tyres! This app is really good but it could be tweaked slightly to be even better. It needs to accommodate 12 speed cassettes (it only goes up to 11 at the moment), and the option to display two setups side-by-side would be nice. But don’t be put off by these unnecessarily bad reviews; they say more about the reviewers than this app. ### 3/5 — Good Practical App *2013-11-11, version 1.1.0* Good practical app, with a good library of gear options from which to choose. A few suggestions for improvement. Would be great if you could compare two gear options side by side, and also the ability to name a saved option.
