Tried to message them as per their website and that did not work. Ended up calling them and spent 29 miniutes and it is still not working but at least they updated my payment method over the phone. So two hours of frustration. ### 1/5 — SERIOUS BATTERY DRAIN SINCE LAST UPDATE *2024-12-15, version 9.7.4* UPDATE 15-12-24. THE LAST UPDATE HAS STILL NOT RESOLVED THE SERIOUS BATTERY DRAIN THAT HAS AFFECTED THE APP SINCE THE PREVIOUS ONE. IF I DO NOT CLOSE DOWN THE APP EACH TIME I COME BACK TO A FLATTENED BATTERY. COME ON THIS SHOULD BE STANDARD STUFF TO FIX - AND DON’T FORGET I AM PAYING TO READ THIS NEWSPAPER. I have just found, following my iPad battery draining rapidly, that the Geelong Advertiser app has used 15 hours operating in the background. I don’t have notifications on and only used the app for 27 minutes in the same 24 hours. I noticed a battery drain a couple of days ago but hadn’t pinned it down to the app until today when the same thing occurred.
