### 3/5 — App seems like an alpha version

*2023-01-12, version 3.6.7*

Lots of bugs in the app. After making sure everything worked at home, I took my first trip with tracker in my checked luggage. At my first destination, I couldn’t log in. It didn’t recognize my email and it told me to create a new account. Fixed the next day after several emails to customer support. But if I now log out of the account, the app no longer works (both iphone and ipad). The login button ceases to function. You then have to shut down the app and restart. Seems like these basic functions would be working by version 3.6.7. Please hire some real programmers.

### 3/5 — This thing only works about 1/2 the time

*2021-09-11, version 2.11.2*

There seems to be no rhyme or reason why sometimes my phone will communicate with a device and other times my phone tells me that the device is unavailable. Sometimes even when I’m standing right next to it.

### 2/5 — Barely works

*2021-06-06, version 2.11.2*

This app and device are extremely disappointing. The location is only rarely actually logged and the app doesn’t reflect what GEGO have on their servers apparently. I logged a support case with GEGO and the result was they eventually told me to return it to the retailer I bought it from because they couldn’t fix it. The thing is, it took so long to receive and I spent so long with Support that I don’t have time to return and get a replacement before I travel.

My advice would be to look for a different product if you don’t want disappointment

### 1/5 — Rip-off

*2020-05-13, version 2.8.0*

There used to be a month to month option and now there isn’t! They charge $76 for the whole year or $15 a month with a $35 reactivation fee! That’s $50! And if you cancel, you’ll have to pay $35 fee again if you’d want to use it again! I don’t travel every month! I only need this for 1-2 times a year! This is not okay! Very unhappy.

### 1/5 — Warning Extra expense!!!!

*2020-02-10, version 2.6.5*

I purchase your much more expensive product so I could track further distance now come to find out the GPS mode requires a service contract. A monthly fee which you do not mention. Underhanded practice!!!

### 1/5 — Needs improvement

*2019-12-21, version 2.6.4*

Generally pretty good, but doesn’t support Dark Mode for iOS13 yet, and that makes it virtually unusable when Dark Mode is turned on. Since it’s dark outside for more than half the day right now, that means it’s unusable for more than half the day as well.

Fix that, and we’re in 5-star territory.

### 1/5 — Weird problem is preventing iTunes updates

*2019-11-12, version 2.6.1*

(12-Nov-2019) "There was a problem downloading the artwork for 'GEGO - Locate what you love'." This is the error message that users will see if they try updating this app via the iTunes 12.6.3 Enterprise Support iOS app store interface. There's probably nothing wrong with the app itself, but periodically, the careless bozos in Apple's App Store foul up and a handful of app updates will cause problems. Looks like you're in the mush pot, LugLoc - time to burn up those tech support incidents with Apple's snotty support staff! Better you than me!

### 1/5 — Delay!

*2019-10-24, version 2.5.0*

Super late in showing the location. Sometimes Iam with my device with me, but in the map shows the location I was many minutes before

### 1/5 — Lost bag

*2019-07-02, version 2.4.1*

Maybe my device was a dud but I fully charged it for a 12 day trip. On my return my flights were delayed and my bags were lost and the charger ran out before the airline found them, bags gone. My second GEGO works fine but the battery is dead 10 days after a full charge, in the battery saver mode. Absolute joke, lug loc was way better

### 1/5 — LugLoc was great but GEGO is just crap

*2019-06-25, version 2.4.1*

It hasn’t updated movements from place to place, says I need internet connection when I already have one, it’s just nowhere near as good as LugLoc was. Bought the unit and paid for 12 months subscription but I really think I’ve wasted my money. Won’t go as far as ripped off but I’m thinking it’s pretty close.

### 2/5 — Nice but...

*2019-06-12, version 2.4.1*

Need more precision. 100 foot a round is big difference when compared to 10 foot.

### 2/5 — Having issues with location find

*2019-04-27, version 2.3.3*

I bought two units and they seem to move location (across town) in the app while physically being in one place. I have been working with support for two weeks and still no resolution. Not sure the devices are ready for prime time yet.

### 2/5 — Not good as LugLoc

*2019-04-27, version 2.3.3*

As the title states. The GEGO is late at displaying the location. It would only show usually the previous 12 to 14 hour location. Also with the Bluetooth I’ll see my luggage on the carousel before it notifies me.

Honestly I really miss the LugLoc over this New GEGO.

I hope you can address the latency of the device’s location to display it’s present location rather than the previous one.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — You also need to pay for Subscription

*2025-05-05, version 3.8.15*

A yearly subscription costs $119.88 on their website. This is in addition to your purchasing this tracker. And it is big.

### 1/5 — Failed to perform

*2024-10-28, version 3.8.9*

Maybe they work in some parts of the world, but not in Japan. I got absolutely nothing from these devices, wasted my money buying them, got pointless too-late offers from tech support to troubleshoot the devices as they admitted to unusual malfunctioning, but the fact remains that I took my trip and got zero insight on my luggage's whereabouts from GeGo.

### 1/5 — Garbage App

*2024-02-03, version 3.8.3*

Back arrow doesn’t work properly on iPhone 15, no way to remove a device no longer being used, tells me I need to activate a service plan for a device that already has an active one, no way to change the map from 3D image to normal map view, shows one of the two devices in wrong location. Needs major overhaul and update to rid bugs.

### 1/5 — Waste of money

*2023-05-24, version 3.7.3*

Do not bother. I used to have LugLoc devices, but they made me upgrade because of 3G. Bought two new devices and all the service plans. They don’t work. They don’t hold a charge, they have all these different modes and don’t even update. By the time I get to my destination, they say they are out of battery or cannot be located.

Do not waste your money.

### 1/5 — Absolutely useless

*2023-02-03, version 3.7.0*

This device goes into airplane mode as soon as you arrive at an airport . So from the time you drop off your luggage until you get to your destination you will have no idea where your luggage is . In addition you will collect your luggage and about 10 min later you get a notification that your luggage has arrived . A bit too late .
Also even if you get to your destination and if your luggage is still at the airport you started you won’t even know that as it will still be in airplane mode because it’s at an airport .
The only useful time you would need this device it doesn’t perform .
Absolute waste of money . Beware and Look elsewhere .

### 1/5 — App startet nicht

*2023-01-01*

Seid dem letzten Update startet die App nicht mehr!

### 1/5 — Poor

*2022-03-11, version 2.11.2*

Unit dose work but very slow. Reporting items still in the UK when I had my bags after landing in the USA, and still saying in in UK 6hrs after landing.
Customer support is nine existent, abrupt answers to simple questions.
Good concept but needs to be 4g or better to keep up with the tunes.
Need to improve

### 1/5 — Hope for better in the future

*2021-10-20, version 2.11.2*

I just utilized my new GEGO on my European trip. It was nothing short of utter disappointment. In addition to it would not identify the location of my luggage , my luggage was actually lost and I had purchased this device for exactly this reason and this trip. Hoping this product experience will improve in the coming weeks. If not then other options exist.

### 1/5 — Poor performance and high cost

*2021-03-12, version 2.11.2*

This device is used to track elderly person. It is not suitable and it should be promoted as such. The location update is so delayed ( about hour or more) no mention trucking history shows only two points, starting point and probably last updated location in past hour or longer, so finding moving person will not be possible. Also high cost of subscription make send to buy chip smartphone and set location feature from cell service provider.

### 1/5 — Lack of support

*2020-12-28, version 2.11.2*

Don’t buy this. The online support is a joke.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Lost lots of bags before finding GeGo

*2020-05-20, version 2.8.0*

I spent most of my business life on airplanes around the world. Sometimes my misplaced bags “followed” on other flights days later.

Today, the most comforting message on my iPhone is, when still taxiing to the terminal, to receive a message that my bags HAVE arrived with me.

I won’t travel anywhere without GeGo.

### 5/5 — Best Tracker

*2019-12-07, version 2.6.4*

I was first introduced to LugLoc through a failed Kickstarter called Trunkster. While they died away, LugLoc never forget their customers. When it was time to upgrade from 2G, their customer service introduced me to GEGO. It was awesome in NYC and Tokyo when attached for my backpack.
Wishlist:
— Family Account management so we don’t have to share passwords across multiple mobile devices.
— A control of notification for both push and sms methods instead of all or nothing.
— A mesh communication method to help track on cruise ships and underground subways.
— A way to automatically change from battery saving mode to a travel mode when it leaves the safe place and to switch back when it is back in the safe place.

### 5/5 — Tracked my bags perfectly on 4 flights on 3 contents

*2019-12-07, version 2.6.4*

I researched as best I could and settled on this one. I had some technical questions and received personal responses within 2 days, rather than the usual boilerplate.

I had a 50+ hour journey through 2 airports in the US, one in Europe, and 2 in Africa. I had it set on “flight mode 2” to save battery. As I changed planes at each airport, it updated me within 30 minutes of landing. On the last plane, a small 18 seater to a tiny African airport, the Bluetooth actually told me when it was loaded onto the airplane, before I shut off the phone. (On the other flights, the large airline apps covered that part)

Had figured a 50% chance that something would happen, like no cell in Europe or Africa, or the battery dying before 50 hours , or it not sensing correctly. It was perfect, and the battery was at 78% at the end of the trip.

### 5/5 — Reliable Beyond Belief

*2019-11-23, version 2.6.2*

Having the ability to track my bags while traveling around the world or just in the USA makes one feel more secure.
I have been using GEGO for almost two years and it continues to perform Beyond belief!
Reliability that deserves this review!!

### 5/5 — 30 Hour Trip

*2019-09-24, version 2.5.0*

Was able to have assurance that my luggage was with me all the way to S Africa.

### 5/5 — Great!

*2019-03-22, version 2.3.3*

So far brilliant. Far better than the old track dot.
On 4th trip now and the Gego has performed perfectly.

### 5/5 — Perfect tracker...

*2019-03-13, version 2.3.3*

Gego is much better than the preview device LugLoc... history and proximity detection features work perfectly.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2019-03-08, version 2.3.3*

Great APP! I’ve used luggage trackers for several years and this is the best.

Easy to use and I was able to track my recently lost luggage every step of the way.

Highly recommended!!!!!

### 5/5 — Finally ... The best suitcase tracker.

*2018-12-09, version 2.3.3*

I spend six months a year traveling the world and I have tried many different trackers, but this one is the best by far. It works flawlessly and has an incredibly long lasting battery. It is accurate and you can easily set it up to send messages to your phone if you want. My wish was to find a well designed product that would tell me where my luggage is located if my airline screws up. Gego is the ultimate solution.

### 5/5 — Cool for long range

*2017-12-20, version 2.0.0*

I use Tile for short range like keys and remote but I always wanted something for when I’m more than 30 ft away. Alexa integration is cool!
