It doesn’t use keychain which is not great development. I use my wallet for payment and it doesn’t link to add that easily. Needs some user testing. Could be a whole lot better. Getting ice cream is not a planned experience it’s more of an incidental one and this app doesn’t support that. ### 2/5 — OK - if you can log in *2025-12-11, version 3.8.37* The new app is so unreliable: out of the last three visits to our local Messina store, it has worked zero times. It doesn’t integrate at all with Apple’s built-in keychain/passwords facility, so you have to manually enter your email and password (if you can remember it - how often do you manually use a password for a gelato shop?)… and even if you do, it may or may not have saved the payment info you added a month or two ago. Oh, and they’ll send you an email (if you did remember your password) to confirm that it’s really you logging in. That email might arrive in a few minutes, but you can’t use the app in the meantime. Want to use the app to pay in store or use your points? Nah - forget it: it’s either forgotten the login or the payment details. ### 2/5 — Teething issues *2025-11-15, version 3.8.37* Had issues logging in, Eventually managed it (including points from old app, which is good). But it feels like a partial & buggy offering… Eg what’s the point of ordering ahead if you can’t choose flavours? ### 1/5 — Rubbish new app *2025-11-12, version 3.8.37* Server error on many screens. Many pages don’t load. Wasted 30min trying to login after registering my account. Lost my birthday voucher as part of the transition to the new app. Contact us doesn’t work. Points history doesn’t work. Locations doesn’t work. Most annoying is loosening my birthday ice cream scoop which was valid till Feb 2026. ### 1/5 — Horrible *2025-11-12, version 3.8.37* I attempted to log in using the same email address I used in the old app. The new app was unable to find the account, so I ended up creating a new account with the same email address. Of course, no order history and no points — everything has been lost. The app is terrifically slow and the UI is abysmal. There was so much hype about the new app, and you produced this nonsense. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — No support *2026-05-30, version 3.11.5* The store is a 15 minutes walk from my home, the app told me the delivery would take 1hr. It has been over an hr I have no notifications, no information on why it’s delayed or if it’s even ready. No way to contact immediate support. Had to find the stores contact on google maps, called them, and was informed the delivery is made by uber drives and it hasn’t been confirmed by them? Why even make another app if you’re going to use uber drivers anyway and offer no support. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-05-24, version 3.11.5* This app is the most annoying app I’ve ever used. At least half the time it simply doesn’t open, it frequently drops out and loses its connection so you just get a blank Messina screen. Frustrating. ### 1/5 — Pointless *2026-05-10, version 3.11.5* What’s the point of ordering online if you can’t pick your flavour??? To do so you still have to get in line when you get there. Effectively you are worse off than anyone else that just walk in because you don’t if your desired flavour is going to be available when you get there but you already payed. ### 1/5 — Credit card details is excessive requirement for a loyalty system *2026-04-24, version 3.11.5* A loyalty card should require your credit card details to be loaded before it can be used! If you don’t load then you have to have the shop key into their computer your name and other details to find you to process the point which is time consuming when lines are busy. Need a card number or barcode that can be scanned like majority of retailers. ### 1/5 — Broken app *2026-04-01, version 3.9.17* App is currently broken and does not open on an Iphone17 pro. ### 1/5 — Cannot login = lost sales *2026-03-22, version 3.9.17* Deleted app, restarted device, downloaded latest version of app and still cannot login with only e-mail I use. As this is showing to becoming a common fault in reviews, I’d recommend you outsource this fix to obtain more sales or not. ### 1/5 — Can’t log in *2026-03-04, version 3.9.17* Have ongoing log in issues with the new app which was never a problem with the old app. Contacted Messina support multiple times and have re-installed the app several times with no success. Unfortunately Messina customer support seems to have no idea how to fix the problem. I have had to log into my account on the website whilst in store and found it was very fiddly with the staff having to search my account on their devices and checking back and forth to complete a transaction. ### 1/5 — What happened to the last app? *2025-12-09, version 3.8.37* Where are my points?? I’ve lost so many points. I can’t log in. What’s going on? This seems fraudulent. I can’t access all my accrued points. ### 1/5 — Backwards *2025-12-03, version 3.8.37* Preferred the old app as when you store a debit/credit card you never used to get charged. Now they’re charging 1.6% surcharge. Apple Pay is an option but for some reason doesn’t work even though I chose it as default payment option. ### 1/5 — Won’t let me log in *2025-11-21, version 3.8.37* After first time logging in, I have had to reinstall multiple times to even get it to open. There should be a feature to add reciepts if you cant do such a simple thing like adding payments.
