Improvements that could be made are the lights inside to help enhance the metals. Sometimes the photo settings blow out way too much in the product in the background. A nice balance can be obtained if you mess with the settings ### 2/5 — Used to be alright *2025-03-24* I have used this app religiously for years now and suddenly I guess it updated and now I can not take a single photo. Honestly this has been crushing because I need to find an entire new system to take photos for my business now. **Developer response:** We are sorry for the inconvenience caused to you. Could you please provide us with your contact information? We will do our best to solve your problem. ### 2/5 — Bloatware Problems *2024-09-10, version 5.0.6* The GemHub app has some serious issues. The main one being even if you delete every picture as you go, after about 50 videos the app will be around 5GB in size. If you keep going (even after deleting all the pictures) you can easily hit 20GB. I have used the app across several devices and this problem always appears. You can clear the cache, your bin, but it only removes a small portion of this bloatware. Another thing is the App never allows you to use the cameras to the full potential. We have taken to using the app separately with another camera then taking the pictures to get a better quality. The light box is great for taking pictures however, gives fantastic consistency. The drawback is this app. ### 4/5 — Photo and Video Size and Resolution Issues After Update *2024-08-14, version 5.0.2* With the latest update, I can no longer adjust the size and resolution for photos and videos. Also, product shots have become worse in the new update; even when I shoot up close, the product appears too far away. Now it’s complicated. I left a bad review and the company reached out to me directly. I am so impressed with the customer service. Loved the old app. Had gemloupe and eclipse as well. Then they pushed out this “upgrade” and my eclipse is useless and the app is slow and clunky. Rather than making a new app and asking people to migrate, they forced this on me and made my best piece of their hardware (eclipse) useless. ### 1/5 — New version is HORRIBLE! *2024-08-07, version 5.0.0* I used to love this app, we use it for all of our product photography across multiple stores. The recent overhaul has made it unusable. Less features, the photos look terrible. I have tried everything, but they ruined this app. I am now desperately seeking an alternative. We can use any filter on that, in new update, we need to stick to only 1 filter, snd eclipse filter is removed… ### 1/5 — Don’t update!! *2024-08-05, version 5.0.0* This most recent update has completely rendered my lightbox and turntable and other accessories useless because it won’t connect to Bluetooth at all. This is UNACCEPTABLE considering how much I paid for all this. This better be fixed soon! ### 1/5 — Poor customer experience. *2024-07-04, version 4.0.149* ### Caution to Buyers The light box and its accompanying software are a scam. The accessories are cheaply made and break after a few uses. When I requested a replacement, they wanted to charge $50 for each plastic holder. After purchasing the system for nearly $3,000, I was informed of an additional $199 monthly subscription fee required after just one year of use. They also offer a "lifetime plan" for another $3,000, totaling $6,000 for a system available on Amazon for $600. Their customer service is even worse. I received a call from Darius regarding the light box, informing me that they would shut down my access to the program unless I paid an additional $3,000. I mentioned that I didn’t need the AI features but required the Shopify integration. He said that it was all part of the package, rendering my light box useless. His response was, "If you can’t afford it, that’s ok." I am extremely disappointed with this level of poor customer service. ### 1/5 — Used to be good *2024-04-22, version 4.0.148* Each update gets worse. Color quality and the force auto coloration in eclipse mode. I can’t turn it off and it makes everything extreme purple and green. It’s extremely frustrating. It’s absolute garbage now, difficult to navigate and upload photos. Bring back the search bar! Easier/faster access to find products! ### 1/5 — Updates Creates Issues *2024-09-23* I love Picup Media & their devices. We have the entire collection. However, the recent update tremendously affected image quality and the ability to focus on the jewelry as a whole. Also, when you hit the reset it automatically selects the product descriptions under GemAI which is annoying since using the descriptions causes the app to load slower. The zoom/focus sliding tool was great but now that has disappeared. Taking images now takes twice as long if I want quality pictures and it’s quite fustrating. ### 1/5 — The Bluetooth Stopped Working *2024-09-19, version 5.0.7* The Bluetooth stopped working and now we can’t use the turn table. This at least should be manual, we cannot even find the light box on the blue tooth, so we can’t use the functions. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t allow saving photos or videos *2024-08-28, version 5.0.4* Doesn’t allow you to save photos or videos to the camera roll even though it has the permissions to do so.
