## Newest reviews (12 of 35)

### 1/5 — Poorly Designed

*2025-01-10, version 2.2.0*

Tried several times to download and set up but it freezes and won’t allow me to set up and establish. I cannot speak to its functionality but if this is an indication then don’t bother. WatchDuty is by far superior.

### 1/5 — Not a good app

*2025-01-10, version 2.2.0*

They do not update the events. The updates are 2 to 3 days old.

### 1/5 — Dosent work

*2025-01-09, version 2.2.0*

As soon as I open the app the start button is too far down you can’t even click it to get started.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t go past second screen

*2025-01-09, version 2.2.0*

Needs to be updated to we can go allow notification access

### 1/5 — It won’t open

*2025-01-09, version 2.2.0*

Unknown issues, can’t get past screen requesting notification permissions. Unacceptable for life and death use

### 1/5 — GUI Prevents iPad Setup

*2025-01-08*

App *appears* to work well on iPhone, but initial setup screen is so large that “Start” button is inaccessible to a first-time iPad user!

### 1/5 — Great intentions, poor execution

*2025-01-08, version 2.2.0*

VERY buggy. Often does not react properly to typing, taps within the app, or other commands. Will let me save locations only very inconsistently. This could be a very useful and life saving app, but it isn’t.

### 1/5 — Worthless

*2024-10-16, version 2.2.0*

The “Get Started” button doesn’t function on an iPhone mini, doesn’t fit on the screen and scrolling won’t help. I am unable to “Get Started”. Phone has the latest iOS version installed. Junk

### 1/5 — Incorrect info

*2024-09-16, version 2.2.0*

Not up to date, spoke to them and they said it was my app. But it’s updated. Literally said an evacuation zone they do cover is “normal” even though it is not. Skip this and use a better app like watch duty.

### 1/5 — App is unable to stay current with fires

*2024-09-10, version 2.2.0*

Yesterday (09/09/24) a massive fire started on the other side of the peaks in Trabuco Canyon (Airport Fire) and by 9:30pm it breached the ridge line and our community received an evac warning per the Watch Duty app. I downloaded this app per recommendation from FB for more local info about the evacs but the Airport Fire is NOWHERE on this app. At all. Not showing on the map nor is it listed on the list of fires. It has the evac area for my community outlined and all it states is “Due to Airport Fire” but zero info about the fire itself. If someone gets an evac alert from this app but said app fails to provide any relevant info (size, origin, direction, etc), then what’s the point of the app? I don’t think anybody monitors this app nor is it set up to propagate real time emergencies. That renders this app completely useless.

### 1/5 — Screen buttons

*2024-07-29, version 2.2.0*

I downloaded this to my iPhone SE but the display is too big for my screen. The START and CONTINUE buttons won’t stay on screen to tap!

### 1/5 — Useless

*2024-07-21, version 2.2.0*

Can’t even start the setup process. Doesn’t let you access the start button.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — useless

*2026-06-08, version 2.4.10*

does this ever update??????????????????

### 1/5 — Watch Duty Much Better app

*2025-08-07, version 2.4.2*

This app is so limited That it is virtually useless, just get Watch Duty and get real time info for multiple areas

### 1/5 — Stopped Using

*2025-07-26, version 2.4.1*

After I found watch duty, I stopped using this. This is not a user friendly app and it’s surprising it’s being implemented and told to download by county services. I also use twitter alert notifications for the north county fire services, which seems to give really useful information. I would not recommend this app.

### 1/5 — Completely Unusable

*2025-06-16, version 2.2.0*

Did the developers even test this app before production release? I could not even scroll the splash screen down to get to the green “Start”button… 100% failed on UX… Am I supposed to reverse engineer this app and fix the issue myself?

### 1/5 — No updates and no improvements

*2025-06-16, version 2.2.0*

Unable to even Start app, does not seem to be updated to work with latest iPhone OS or model.

### 1/5 — Can’t get past the first screen

*2025-02-11, version 2.2.0*

App opens, then doesn’t allow the start button to be high enough on the screen to even touch it. Can’t get it to do anything.

### 1/5 — Do not download

*2025-02-08, version 2.2.0*

If 0 was available that’s what I would give it. Cannot be removed completely. Inly from home screen. Terrible!

### 1/5 — Poor QC

*2025-01-25, version 2.2.0*

Won’t open past start screen. This app is unusable.

### 1/5 — Bad Download

*2025-01-23, version 2.2.0*

Page opens to large for iPhone screen such that can not proceed because view off page

### 1/5 — Very Low End App

*2025-01-20, version 2.2.0*

The app never saves your address like it stays and the design is like an early 90s app very non user friendly.

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2025-01-12, version 2.2.0*

I have had zero issues with this app whatsoever.

### 4/5 — Great on iphone, fails on ipad mini

*2024-07-19*

Cannot even start on mini as the screen is sized wrong but works well on iphone

### 4/5 — Useful

*2024-06-17, version 2.1.0*

Nice to have if you live in an area that uses the Zonehaven system, like I do. Not all counties in California do, and I’m not sure any entities outside California use it.

### 3/5 — Clunky app

*2026-04-25, version 2.4.8*

Our sheriffs department told us to use this app, but my confidence is not very high based on what I see after installing it. It is not designed for mobile phones, is not user-friendly, and it does not give much information to the user to explain exactly how this is going to work.

### 3/5 — Buggy updating

*2024-10-19, version 2.2.0*

Status of saved location on home tab did not update when status changed hours earlier; only saw new status by tapping "more details." Had to force quit and relaunch app before correct status displayed on home tab.

### 2/5 — Not very useful

*2025-02-14, version 2.2.0*

The App updates only the very specific zone(s) of cities that you select. That means a zone two blocks from your house could go under mandatory evacuation, but your zone will show no updates and you’ll get no alert. Why don’t they update with warnings at the city level? I would not my life on this app.

### 2/5 — GUI Prevents iPad Setup

*2025-01-23, version 2.2.0*

Updated 2025-01-23:
App works well on iPhone, but initial setup screen is so large that “Start” button is inaccessible to an iPad user!

### 2/5 — Battery Hog

*2025-01-21, version 2.2.0*

I noticed my iPhone 14 pro battery draining quickly after installing this app. It was accounting for 75% of battery usage. It appears to be doing something in the background about once every minute. Bye bye Genasys!

### 2/5 — Great idea. Poor functionality.

*2024-08-06, version 2.2.0*

Won’t keep saved addresses. Doesn’t have any indication that you’re immediately next to an evacuation zone. Indicates “no fires in your area” even though there’s a fire less than 10 miles away. If there’s a different app for this I would suggest that one. It can’t be much worse.
