## Newest reviews (14 of 53)

### 2/5 — Not consiy

*2026-04-22, version 2.0.21*

Sometimes it starts my car and sometimes it doesn’t. Too inconsistent. When it does work, great!

### 2/5 — Not very useful

*2026-03-22, version 2.0.21*

This app is not set up to be easily used and the format is convoluted and confusing. Just lock the door…I don’t need to see a request being sent and then confirmation that it happened. The status of the lock icon is enough. How about adding rolling up a window? Dog mode? Turning on the ac so it’s cool when I get in the car?
Sometimes the app is accurate and other times it will not update to real time.
The charger map is useless as it does not show all chargers in the area.
I’m not here to promote Tesla, but their app is so much more streamlined and useful. And easy to navigate.
Maybe have your team take a look at it.

### 2/5 — Disappointed

*2026-03-21, version 2.0.21*

App has potential but wasn’t provided with the back end infrastructure to support it. It’s slow, forget about asking it to do two things within 90 seconds and continually requires a force close to even respond. Just please do better and copy some of your competitors.

### 3/5 — Remote Start Missing From Home Screen. Core UX Gap

*2026-01-30, version 2.0.19*

This app is positioned as remote-first for vehicle control, but the home screen does not present a clear Engine Start action. That is the primary reason most users open the app. Right now, the UI prioritizes status (fuel, range, doors locked) over the main job-to-be-done.

The “Doors Locked” pill uses prime space but offers no path to remote start. Users must guess where the feature lives, which increases friction and creates the impression the app is incomplete.

Fix: add a prominent Engine Start button on the home screen. Either replace the “Doors Locked” pill with Engine Start or place Engine Start above the action row. Keep lock and climate as supporting actions. If climate presets are part of the start flow, add a “Start with climate” toggle or link climate settings to the start action.

This should not require user testing to catch. Remote start must be obvious on first glance.

### 3/5 — Instable

*2026-01-27, version 2.0.18*

Appli instable…marche…marche pas… mes voitures Gmc et Ford ont des applications qui fonctionnent tout le temps…

### 1/5 — Genesis Intelligent Assistant

*2026-01-21, version 2.0.18*

When it works it’s great but more often than not I’m trying to get it to work. Terrible app for this expensive vehicle

### 1/5 — Not working

*2026-01-15, version 2.0.18*

I find it very useful when I can start my car remotely because of the winter, but this app crashes a lot it’s so annoying
It doesn’t work most of the time

### 1/5 — Owner

*2026-01-15, version 2.0.18*

Poor service and preparation

### 1/5 — Barely works

*2026-01-13, version 2.0.18*

The app is incredibly buggy. I informed Genesis of the problems two years ago, but nothing has been done to address things.

### 1/5 — What happened???

*2026-01-09, version 2.0.18*

I have to manually kill and open the app to find out how much charge is left in my electrified GV70.

I’m getting longer than usual waits to unlock my doors or start the climate control.

Please fix it. It works great before.

### 2/5 — Bad to worse

*2025-12-20, version 2.0.18*

None of these apps are reliable for start features. Since last update it’s showing battery at 0% and start function went from like a 15-20% success rate to 0%

### 1/5 — Garbage app and car company

*2025-12-14, version 2.0.18*

Literally works one in ten times - couldn’t get any worsen

### 1/5 — Not consistent

*2025-12-13, version 2.0.18*

Too many bugs with starting your car, lag time, and never working. I'd rather have an aftermarket product.

### 3/5 — 2025 GV70

*2025-12-09, version 2.0.18*

The app just underwent an update. Both my wife and I are under one login and we both updated. It is still very glitchy. Half the time we send a command to remote start. The vehicle gives a response that it is unsuccessful, but when trying to send another request, you may receive a response that another request is already underway and to wait a minute or two before refreshing the app.

The maximum time limit for remote start is 10 minutes. In -20° weather, that barely warms the engine up to begin heating the interior compartments. Even our old bronco sport gave the option to extend the time. We didn’t experience similar glitches with remote start or request for door lock. Additionally, the app does not show updated status when open already, and requires a refresh for any recent commands given.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor App

*2026-08-28, version 2.0.26*

Not working properly. Takes too long and sometimes not responding at all. Actions ignored and not synchronized with the car. Had to reset by customer service and had to go through the process from the beginning. No improvement made. Information lost. Extremely disappointing.

### 1/5 — Stan Stawowski

*2026-07-27, version 2.0.25*

Why isn’t my remote start working??

### 1/5 — GV70

*2026-07-02, version 2.0.24.1*

This app could be very good, but there’s too many glitches.

### 1/5 — Reverse the changes

*2026-05-25, version 2.0.23*

Received a developer response, which was the poorest response a developer could provide: They literally took the template they are provided with for responses and just pasted that as the response, and their response, which you can see below, even still says “insert guests issue here”. It seems they did not bother to even read the review or to demonstrate any care about the content of the review’s concerns and to respond in an intelligent way, and despite the name of the app… “Intelligent Assistant…”.

I took the time to provide constructive feedback that is helpful to the developer, feedback most companies would pay for, and The Developer’s response was more disappointing than the app itself.

The new GUI interface is poor. It used to have 3 dedicated large buttons for each section of commands, “engine & climate, “doors lock & unlock”, etc.,. Now there’s 5 separate small tiny little buttons for each command which causes you have to scroll to the right to see everything. This is unnecessary.

The “engine stop” button is now its own independent button on the home screen, but this is not necessary as people use the app to start their car for climate control purposes or to move the vehicle, NOT to stop the engine. Move back this engine stop function to under the “climate & engine” area.

The vehicle’s status used to be displayed right next to the door’s status, at the top centre of the home screen under the image of the car and fuel status indicators. This was very convenient to be able to see the status of the car at a quick glance, for example, “doors locked and car is parked”. Now you have to scroll down to see a vehicle status and press on it….this is inconvenient. The odd thing is there’s lots of screen space currently where the vehicle’s status used to be displaced next to where the door status is, so it would be very simple to have that status display put back into that place on the top centre of the Home Screen below the fuel status indicators.

Lastly, under “vehicle status details” there’s an error and typo: it says “vehicle status off/on” and also “engine status” off/on, (which is the same thing) but they don’t mean “engine” status they actually mean “climate” status, because when you have the heat on, it will say “engine is 84°”. But what they mean is the climate system is on warming to 84°. It’s very alarming to initially see the engine is 84°, thinking your car’s engine is running HOT and there’s something wrong…Please fix this.

Finally, under the “tire pressure status”, It just says “normal”, but why can’t it actually display the last PSI readings there?

### 1/5 — Start engine function does not work

*2026-03-24, version 2.0.21*

Everything in the app works, albeit a little slow except the start engine function. Without that option the app is basically useless to me.

### 1/5 — Always slow to start up

*2026-03-22, version 2.0.21*

Even after a refresh and updates, the way the app opens is messy and slow. It auto swipes down and you can’t use any touch functions for a solid 3-5 second lag. I don’t see how a solid app can’t be made or corrected for so long. It should be quick and sharp to use. This is nonsense.

### 1/5 — Love the car and service, the software is horrible.

*2026-03-07, version 2.0.20*

The car’s display and software is terrible.

### 1/5 — Wireless Remote

*2026-03-05, version 2.0.20*

Terrible and buggy!

### 1/5 — Lightning slow

*2026-02-25, version 2.0.20*

It’s great if you enjoy waiting 5 minutes to see if any action actually went through (about 50% success rate)

### 1/5 — App doesn’t connect

*2026-02-01, version 2.0.19*

The app stopped working in December 2025. Several updates and an entirely redesigned look have been released but they have not helped. It still does not connect to my car, and the app’s continual trying to connect might be draining my vehicle’s battery as I’ve had a dead battery twice this month in my 2025 car. Please fix this app

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — A d’Alec

*2026-03-12, version 2.0.20*

Louis-A 😉🚙🔋

### 5/5 — Not working since beginning of December

*2024-01-22*

This app has not worked for me since the beginning of December - after the new update. Prior to the update it was working perfectly on my 2022 GV70.
I have had a case number since December 19 and not once has anyone from the technical team contacted me. I have phoned every week and get the same story that someone will contact me in 3-5 days. No one has.
Love the vehicle, this app and the customer service is abysmal.

### 4/5 — Slow clunky

*2026-06-13, version 2.0.23*

Please add ability to record charge amount to for home charging so we can see cost

Each function is too slow
Need real time view of car
Notifications that appear on phone are not always in app
Most remote functions need two or three tries

### 4/5 — Convenient

*2026-03-19, version 2.0.20*

The app is very convenient! Has a lot of good functions but can get pretty finicky with error messages if you do not engage it on a regular basis.

### 4/5 — Worse with every release

*2026-01-29, version 2.0.18*

Genesis should be embarrassed to publish an app this poorly designed and executed.

With each release, the app becomes demonstrably worse, not better. That is unacceptable—especially for a brand that markets itself on precision, quality, and attention to detail. You invest enormous effort into building beautiful, well-engineered vehicles, yet you are willing to ship an application that feels careless, unreliable, and fundamentally broken. That disconnect actively devalues the Genesis brand.

The lack of care is obvious everywhere: in the app’s unreliable functionality, in the absence of meaningful quality control, and in the copy-and-paste responses posted to critical reviews. If you cannot be bothered to read user feedback—let alone act on it—then stop pretending otherwise. Boilerplate apologies about “challenges,” assurances that feedback is “important,” and instructions to call or email support are hollow when nothing ever improves. Why should users invest more time reporting issues when experience shows those reports lead nowhere?

Even the release notes reflect this indifference. “General bug fixes” is not transparency; it’s an admission that no one is taking responsibility. When the app consistently reports my EV battery at 0% while the vehicle is actually at 80%, that is not a minor bug. That is a core failure of the application—one that should have been caught before release. Worse, this is not an isolated incident. It happens every single time the app refreshes, regardless of the vehicle’s actual charge level.

This is not a matter of polish or feature requests. It is about basic correctness, reliability, and respect for your customers. Right now, this app reflects none of those things.

You can—and should—do better. Shame on you.

### 4/5 — Embarrassingly terrible for EV charging

*2025-12-04, version 2.0.17*

The most recent update of the app is utter garbage. Not only does it not show the charging rate during a level 2 session, but for me a refresh always leads to the battery SOC showing 0%. I have to quit the app and restart it to see how charging is progressing. On top of that, the Stop Charging function always fails for no reason whatsoever. I have to ensure that the charging port is not locked during charging and then manually just yank the charging pistol out to end the charge session. It’s an embarrassingly bad app. I love every other aspect of my GV60, and so this is a minor quibble. Quite frustrating though.

### 4/5 — Genesis Review

*2025-05-11, version 2.0.13*

My wife and I share driving and we frequently change drivers. Having to punch in a code each time the secondary driver switch positions is a big inconvenience. Also because we live in Ontario we have two licence plates, front and rear. The position of the front license plate holder is ugly. It hides the beautiful grill and takes away the beauty of the vehicle. It should be positioned below the grill. The mesh cargo holder needs to be reimagined. It is difficult to secure the lower clips. We love the car so a few tweaks would be appreciated in our next Genesis

### 4/5 — View

*2025-03-25, version 2.0.12*

Great idea for security of the vehicle
