I reached out for support but they weren't able to help, no longer an option to control my 4040 Pro. ### 1/5 — Complete garbage. *2024-08-13, version 1.0.4* Does not connect. There is zero help available. I am returning everything to include the router. ### 2/5 — Really Messed Up *2024-08-02, version 1.0.4* This latest version of the app, 1.0.4, is really messed up. The probe setting routine completely locks up the app once the Z0 height is determined and the tool is retracted the prescribed amount. I have also had it lock up when using the go to origin button. It goes to the origin, stops moving, and locks up the app showing the routine is still running. VERY DISAPPOINTED with Sainsmart on this version. It makes using my iPad completely worthless. It’s back to bringing the laptop out to the shop again to run my 4040 Pro. ### 2/5 — Great concept but not really functional *2024-08-02, version 1.0.4* I have had multiple issues with using this module. I reached out to support about one of them and they kindly responded to it with a short term fix that would need me to modify my toolpath gcode and they assured me that it will be fixed in the next firmware update. However, whenever I try to update my firmware it just immediately fails and disconnects. So I don’t know how can I ever get this update. Also, please please add support for the imperial system as well. I rely on inches for my measurements and it is very confusing to have to switch to the metrics system when using this wireless module. ### 2/5 — Cnc wireless controller *2024-04-28, version 1.0.1* I was skeptical of using a wireless controller. However, I was impressed with the quality of this app and the control and ease of use. What I did not like was the fact it would only use the wheel.nc file. I tried to change the file on the sd card that came with the controller. I could not get it to work. The app definitely needs some work as connecting isn’t as easy as they say. Make sure your wifi is 2.4 ghz or you will have trouble. App is good but limited and there should be more information on how to use the machine. Please make this app better as I believe you have a solid foundation for an awesome app if worked on. Cheers. ### 1/5 — Can’t connect *2026-01-06, version 2.4.0* The software will not connect to my kiosk 10 one laser. I have the name of the Wi-Fi the password of the Wi-Fi but it doesn’t matter. It just says close and start up the kiosk again and connect the Wi-Fi. It just is a constant loop. ### 1/5 — Still No Rotary Axis *2026-01-06, version 2.4.0* Wifi upgrade to the Genmitsu CNC machines is pretty much a waste of time. None of the usual hobby senders, Candle, UGS, OpenBuilds can use wireless and so you are stuck with just this app which is sub standard in comparison. Genmitsu have a lot of catching up to do in comparison to others and should build a sender that works on multiple platforms. ### 1/5 — Leider Mangelhaft *2025-12-26, version 2.3.2* Schade das die App so umständlich ist und die Benutzetfreundlichkeit zu wünschen übrig lasst. Das koppeln mit den Geräten ist umständlich und die Verbindung leider nicht konstant. Das umschalten von CNC Betrieb auf Laser Betrieb klappt nicht- in beiden Fällen werden unterschiedliche SSID angegeben wovon nur einer verfügbar und ausgewählt werden kann. Die PC Anwendung UGS ist für Mac verfügbar. Die Laser Software leider nicht. Macht leidet so keinen Sinn. Schade für das Toole Gerät das wirklich gut gelungen ist. Allowing me to watch the progress of my project. Looking at the job in 3d view all this without being next to the machine. As good if not better then other gcode senders I have used from my computer and the computer doesn’t need to be in the workshop. ### 5/5 — Make a Chrome OS Version *2025-06-18, version 2.2.1* What an amazing program. Keeps its zero stats well. Allows for command line. But also allows for speeding up and slowing down of the cut. Seriously I love this program. I was using the vcarve program but it needs to be directly connected instead of having an intermediary. I would love it if there was a fully integrated chrome os plugin. Honestly if I had one wish that would be it. But seriously controlling my cnc (sainsoft Genmitsu prover xl 1000x1000 upgraded spindle and 1/4 inch cutting on hardwood) love this company. Love this machine. What errors happen are 90% my fault and otherwise it is obvious at the beginning and can be fixed before damage. ### 5/5 — Work great with my CNC Machine *2025-06-11* Clean interface, easy WiFi setup, and reliable controls. Project presets are clutch. Low-key does its job well – makes CNC actually easy, even for me. ### 5/5 — Convenient App for CNC *2025-02-13, version 2.0.0* I’ve been using the Genmitsu app for my CNC machine and laser engraver, and it's made the whole process much more convenient. The app is easy to navigate and eliminates the need to constantly connect to a PC, which saves a lot of time and hassle. It offers solid control over both the CNC and laser settings, and the connection is reliable. It’s a great tool for simplifying the workflow without needing a desktop setup. Perfect for users looking for a more portable and efficient way to manage their machines ### 4/5 — Rough edges but makes the CNC so much better *2024-06-24, version 1.0.3* This app makes the process of cnc’ing something on my ProverXL so much better. I can save the gcode from my workstation to iCloud and then set everything up on my phone including running the job and checking on the status. A game changer vs having a laptop next to the mill just for control. The app has its quirks, I had sent some reports to SainSmart and they responded with some instructions or told me the feature was on the roadmap. So it’s getting better with each release, and even with bugs, a much better way to CNC. ### 4/5 — Good but still a work in progress… *2024-06-03, version 1.0.2* I’ve been using the new Genmitsu wireless controller on my PROVerXL 4030 for two weeks and I’ve learned a few things in the process. First, the new 1.0.2 version of the app fixed some issues but created others. Most notably, the new version makes it easier to “Upload” files directly from the controller’s SD card after those files have been placed on the card using a card reader. But the 1.0.2 version also has a bug that makes it impossible to “Open” files stored on the phone or iPad. I expect this will be fixed in the next version. Unlike the older wired controller, this app does not have a GCODE view screen that permits previewing the files before running. As a workaround I’ve found that by changing the file extension from .nc to .txt before loading the file on the card the file can be viewed by several apps that are already installed on my phone and iPad. The wireless controller doesn’t care if the extension is .txt or .nc and will run it the same. ### 3/5 — Doesn’t maintain network connection *2026-04-22, version 2.4.2* Says network configured but keeps jumping back to select concert and start pairing ### 2/5 — So so *2026-01-16, version 2.4.0* It’s got good potential but needs a few more rough edges polished out. It’s too easy to press the wrong button and end up back on the select device screen and have to redo all the homing and zeroing. Seems to be an intermittent bug where zeroing the work piece before loading the file ends up changing the zero point and if you don’t notice the router crashes into the stock. App is forced landscape on iPad but has stuff off the bottom of the screen. There are many other small issues which make this frustrating to use, especially as it’s not that far away from being good ### 2/5 — Laser Genmitsu *2026-01-11, version 2.4.0* Die empfohlene Software für den Laser CutLabX ist eine einzige Katastrophe. Hier muss man immer wieder alles neu einstellen. Absolut 0 Sterne. Die Software Genmitsu hat erst ganz gut funktioniert und jetzt nach 6 Monaten komme ich noch bis zur Vorschau und dann geht nichts mehr. Das Gerät ist ganz gut, die Software ist nicht zu gebrauchen.
