The plastic camera lens cover has yellowed and become unclear. I can only see a persons face if they are directly in front of the camera. And even then it’s unclear. The database used for the items you’re weighing is terrible. I know it’s going to be complicated but the product would be better if the information you get would be more accurate and/or organized. For the first 16+ months I had it with a scale, it synced daily with Apple Health. Since the May 11th update to version 1.1.3, I’ve never been able to get it to work again. Even though the device is connected and online, the main smart function, 'what's on the scale,' is not working. I tried to measure a cup of orange juice, searched for it, and got "no data" in the search results. What good is a smart scale when the main feature in the app is not working? Please fix this issue. I entered chicken breast. Said no protein and no calories for 6 oz chicken breast. App does not provide the manual setup option at all which is presented as the alternate configuration option in the instructions. All the 5 star reviews are definitely bots XD ### 1/5 — Inaccurate food data *2022-03-20, version 1.1.2* Multiple entries for items. Most with zero cal or NO nutritional info. Others entries for the same food have wildly different data. Don’t want to scroll through a bunch of items to find one with at least a little data, then have to go to a web page to check its accuracy. Just like the app recommends, if your router has auto-connect to your 5Ghz or 2.4Ghz, you need to go to your wifi internet settings and separately rename one as 5G and the other 2.4Ghz so the device connects only to the 2.4Ghz connection. That’s what I had to do and also reset the air purifier. After following the Gennec app instructions, I was able to connect without any glitches. The Gennec app is easy to use. I just don’t understand why the app asks for your location in setup before you connect the device to WiFi. **Developer response:** We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. I worked on it again for an entire afternoon without success. Then, by accident, I happened to notice in Settings that the Gennec app did not have Local Network turned on. (Bluetooth and Cellular Data were also off.) I turned everything on in Settings and then immediately I was able to easily connect all three of my air purifiers! Problem solved!! Update (1/1/22): Almost ½ year later and still the same: cannot connect to Gennec, but no problem re-connecting to the RENPHO Smart app after Gennec repeatedly failed. Why? Why can’t Gennec just use the robust RENPHO Smart connection engine? {Previous review:} I tried for over two hours but could not connect this Gennec app to my air purifiers. So I went back to my RENPHO Smart app and was able to re-connect the purifiers immediately to it (which confirmed that I was doing the right things to connect). I was trying to switch to Gennec because the RENPHO Smart app keeps warning that it’s being retired and will be replaced by this Gennec app. Based on my awful and failed connection experience that is a terrible plan because the Gennec app needs serious fixing first! ### 5/5 — Every time.
