Unfortunately i think Ancestry miscalls certain snps which likely confuses this app. It claimed i had vEDS and some 1 in a million disease that i obviously don't have. Cross check the data on open snp or snpedia before jumping to any conclusions. ### 2/5 — Android to iPhone switching *2023-11-29, version 8.0.5* Purchases cannot be restored if you switch from Android to iPhone (or I imagine from iPhone to Android as well) The info the app gives is good to know. I like the detail. Too bad I paid for full reports and can’t access them now. Also references on sites with same terminology. I think it will be better if explained in more simple language and refer to more scientific sites! Highlights need more clearly, smiley face is clear sad face not enough so is third one, need more clear explanations for sad and crazy face, also it will be nice if we can print list for necessary tests what we could show to doctors (with language what doctors and lab workers understand), and/ or refer to other organizations what can do this tests!!! I subscribed for the use, but can get access where to stop the continued subscription. This is bogus. I will need to block them from my Apple account. **Developer response:** Genomapp is not a subscription service. You must be referring to another app by mistake. You can contact us at info@genomapp.com. ### 1/5 — Approach with extreme caution. *2020-09-17, version 5.8.1* This flagged BRCA 1 gene for me. A further more in depth test ruled thus out. The company who conducted the in-depth Breast Cancer Gene Panel for ne described the report generated by the Genomapp app as amongst the most poorly written and confusing they had ever seen. The Genomapp report stated that I had two copies of a pathogenic variation in a point in the BRCA1 gene. The other genetic testing company informed me that two copies of a pathogenic gene at that point would mean I would have never developed fully as embryo, been carried to term and then been born. It’s basically impossible to have two copies and survive til birth. One copy of the variant would be considered pathogenic. As it turned out with further testing I had no pathogenic BRCA1 variants. This makes me think there are deficits in the construction and design of the reports and not just a mistake in the original test. Update after developer response: The developer has missed the point, It is medically impossible to survive until birth with two copies of that marker. So even if the error is in the data rather than the report, that should have been picked up as an error rather than merely flagged as a pathogenic marker. Hence the title “Approach with extreme caution”. ### 1/5 — Absolutely awesome *2020-07-19, version 5.8* Very in-depth ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2019-11-18, version 5.2.5* Will not process file. Only cycles to the dna provider type. Useless... inadequate FAQ and product support. Don’t store your data here. Better off using Other open source analyzers. ### 1/5 — Misleading results giving people health scares! *2019-08-19, version 5.0.1* The app gives results which are hard to interpret and comes across in a very misleading, shock-factor kind of way. For example, getting DNA results that implies you have AIDS, and no other supporting info. When questioned on their data models (as I definitely know I don’t have AIDS) they reply that this result is only relevant if you actually have HIV/AIDS. They definitely need to add some context to that particular result if that’s the case! Numerous examples of this type of misleading info in my results. Seems like a half-baked/assed app designed to generate some money. ### 1/5 — Data wrong! MTHFR 677 *2019-07-17* Both 23andme and Genesight show that I have the T/T (or A/A) for the MTHFR 677. This means methylation is reduced by up to 70%. (Homozygous). My doctor prescribed high dose methylated folic acid and B complex immediately. Have to work harder to remove toxins;Folate is necessary to get dopamine to your brain. This APP shows NOTHING wrong which is dangerous, especially if you are pregnant. I’m not sure why they include a methylation report section and don’t report it. **Developer response:** Dear jump4joy2000. Each service uses different sources of information. You can consider each service as complementary. In Genomapp's case, we use official scientific databases and the related marker appears in the pharmacological response section. For your information, Genomapp updates its database regularly and new markers will be added. ### 1/5 — Per Genomapp Not a DX Tool🤣 *2019-07-17* While the company clearly states the reports are not for medical diagnosis, it should be somewhat accurate, or follow through on that they are advertising. I’m not sure what testing methods they use to extract/decipher the raw dna, but I found it to be highly inAccurate! I had already had my dna tested professionally tested and had an idea of what he results should be and this test did not represent any correlating results from a professional test! The only thing I found they got correct was my blood group!🤣 Edit* while Genomapp was prompt in its generic rebuttals (as so noted on many users who dared give a less than stellar review) along w/ it’s snarky final comment(way to keep it professional Genomapp🤣). I still will keep to my original comment that things did not align w/ a professional gene testing & people should understsnd Genomapp not a medical dx tool(which they state themselves...apparently I’m not allowed to say that though🙄). Maybe if I paid money into the ones they charged for, I’d see more matches but not going to be doing that after the free intro was lacked correlation. Finally, I understand blood type is not projected, I mistyped but meant the 1 “blood group” that was listed, which you do determine “blood groups” as it’s part of the free section...am I wrong? **Developer response:** Dear Janna0913, Genomapp is an information retrieval tool that crosses your DNA raw data file with our database of published markers related to conditions. By the way, Genomapp does not determine Blood Groups. ### 1/5 — Crap *2019-01-26, version 4.4.4* Hardly worth the money spent. ### 1/5 — Beware *2018-12-31* Stated I did not have any methylation mutations, however it has been discovered by my genetic physician that I have homozygous C677T methylation mutation. Take this information they provide with a grain of salt because it isn’t necessarily accurate. If they state you do not have the mutation- do not believe it. Get it checked with a reliable source. This app does not properly interpret any genetic data. **Developer response:** As we have been discussing previously by email your interpretation about the results is not correct. Genomapp is an information retrieval tool that crosses the content of your raw data file with reliable scientific databases. The reports shown in the app are based on the markers on your file and these databases. All of our results are backed by scientific literature that you can find in the Evidence summary section of each marker. More than three years of experience and testing guarantee the app. ### 1/5 — I’ve done most of the 3rd party *2018-10-27* So I have my raw data from my genetic testing and I wanted to see if there was more to find out after I did promethease. I’ve known since before I did the genetic testing I have two copies of the MTHFR mutation and have had issues with homocysteine levels, folate, and B6. I luckily have never had a stillbirth but I have had miscarriages, unfortunately my mother has had 2 stillborn babies, thanks to the MTHFR mutation. This app says I do not have the MTHFR mutation at all while every other app, promethease, and my doctors ALL say I have it! How erroneous can their data analysis be at Genomapp to report this incorrectly? How dangerous is this!? **Developer response:** Firstly, remember that Genomapp is NOT for diagnostic use. We NEVER say whether or not you have a disease or gene. Secondly, we are very rigorous and exhaustive in our data analysis. More than three years of experience guarantee the app. Finally, many mutations are discovered for the mthfr gene. If that particular marker is present in the data that you have loaded and it does not appear in the report, it is because it is not present in our database. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Great Presentation of Data *2025-03-11* I really like how the data is presented in an easy to understand format. I sent it to my doctor and he is fascinated as well. I hope they include the marker/trait I am most curious about in their next database update. ### 5/5 — Amazing App *2023-06-07* This app is not for fun, it provides real reports based off your raw DNA. I recommend paying the small fee for the additional reports helped me diagnose an autoimmune disease. I can not subscribe to all services all the time. I just want some information from you if you want information from me. **Developer response:** First of all, please note that Genomapp does not access your DNA information, Genomapp is just a tool that allows you to compare your raw DNA data with scientific literature. Nor do we ask to contribute information. Besides that, Genomapp is not a subscription service. ### 5/5 — I’ve used Genomapp since 2015 and I love it! *2021-04-11, version 6.41* The regular updates are great ! A few of the pathogenic results for complex diseases I had no signs of having in 2015. But since then I have developed 5 of the conditions I showed two copies of pathogenic markers. Three of those were familial breast cancer, neoplasm Of the breast, and cancer cell motility(the cancers ability to metastasize to other parts of the body. I have faithfully done my mammogram yearly ever since I got my first report. Feb 2,2021 I was diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma of the breast. I’ve since had surgery, I am cancer free, didn’t need radiation and only on anti hormone pills to prevent it from coming back somewhere else in my body. This app is partly responsible for saving my life as my cancer was caught early because I new my risks were high ! I used my ancestry dna file.the dna testing and Genomapp cost me less than $80! Most of that was the dna testing not Genomapp. I also love the links to Pubmed and National institute of health for learning, references, studies, and trials. I am a retired nurse. ### 5/5 — Lovethe app! *2019-10-25* I have to let you know that I am thankful for the GenoMapp app, which flagged a rare genetic metabolic disease (glutaric acidemia type 1) in my 17 year old daughter.
