Crashes instantaneously with any iwad. Games only launch through saved configurations. **Developer response:** Hi! This should be fixed in the latest 2026.1.0 version. Please update and give it a try! ### 4/5 — Works great but one question… *2025-06-21* I gave this a try on my iPad mini 6 recently and it worked better than I had hoped! I then also noticed it appeared in the Mac stored and while not verified for it I thought I would give it a go and it seems to work better with the particular Doom TC mod I am playing that actual GZDoom (in terms of not making my MBA M3 overheat). One thing though, is there/will there be a way to make this go to full screen on a Mac one day? Would be very cool if so! Every other app that uses this feature presents a pop up at the top of the screen indicating it is on. I don’t get that with this or the ad supported version of GenZD. The Lock Screen and control center widgets just launch the app right now, but having a widget with launch configurations is a good suggestion. I'll look into that. Regarding Game Mode, I've tried to get this working but it might be related to the App Store category as you indicated. I'll have to look into this as well. The only reason I don’t give it 5 stars is because the touch screen controls, namely the directional pad, needs some serious work. I can’t just slide my thumb in the direction I need to go. You have to press the direction you want to go. If this was fixed, I could easily give it 5 stars. All I see is a white box and no options to add to the widget in the app. iPhone 15 PM on iOS 18.01. I will try the iPad after this. Side note: I am sorry about the long delay with Apple’s review of ArcadeMania. I check for it every day so I can appreciate the frustration with this. Keep up the good fight because we love your work. Thanks! Update2: love the iPad support and additional enhancements. This continues to be a steal at this price! A suggestion - iOS 18 includes ‘game mode’ that works similar to the Mac’s ‘game mode’. From what I read you have to classify your app as a ‘game’ versus something like ‘entertainment’. I am not sure how easy it is to change this or if it creates havoc with the app approval process. But it might be worth looking into. Otherwise, great job! **Developer response:** Hi! Worthless and unuseable. ### 1/5 — Launching any game crashing issue still exists *2025-11-08, version 2025.10.1* iPad Pro 13.9 on IPadOS 26.1. Launching even basic Doom crashes the app. It was on 26 a couple months ago. iPhone Pro on 26.1 is working fine though. ### 2/5 — Mouse glitch *2025-10-13* Hi, I really enjoy this app for Doom—it’s great! But I’ve been having trouble with the mouse controls. When I play as Doomguy, he doesn’t move around like he should, and it seems glitchy. It even used to kick me out of the game before. Hope this can be fixed in a future update. Thanks! ### 2/5 — Touch controls need work *2024-11-23* The touch controls are missing some basic functionality present in most mobile FPS games. The movement joystick doesn’t snap to the location of your finger, nor does it register any input outside of one of four cardinal directions, meaning diagonal movement is impossible. The size is fixed also. The “press and swipe” motion that I’m used to for moving in other games is impossible. It’s more like four tiny buttons which are difficult to reliably press. If this could be fixed, this would be a great port. It’s still better than Bethesda’s iOS port, which they haven’t updated in years. ### 3/5 — Touch pad support no longer working properly *2025-10-05* Used to work great until a recent update. I’ve been waiting for a mobile port for GZ and this is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. Unfortunately, GZDoom has most likely become deprecated as all of its contributors have moved to a new source port called UZDoom. Is there any chance we could get support for UZDoom as it has more and better features and will likely become the premiere source port going forward.
