Some areas don't have a good enough satellite photo resolution to actually take a measurement. I use regularly for measuring field sizes and distance. It's a great app it's saved me money and made me money. The satellite view resolution at maximum zoom is now inadequate for precision better than about 10 feet (at least at my house … perhaps 10 miles or more in some parts of the world).
