It's worth getting just to avoid going to the clunky stu-view site for certain things. The app has current and past semester courses, grades, profs, class lists, class cancellations, news, phone numbers, events, etc. If you are going to Student Services, you can get a service ticket before even arriving there. You can’t view your marks next to assignments, it doesn't have access to blackboard (the most used part of the site), takes you to the gbc website anyway.
