## What is GeoSea?

GeoSea is your nautical chart, your marine weather station and your fishing logbook, all in a single app. Built for boaters, anglers and everyone who loves the sea, it works even without signal thanks to offline chart downloads.

YOUR OWN DEPTH CHART
Connect your boat's sounder (NMEA) and GeoSea records the real depth, corrected for tide, and draws it on your chart. If you want, it joins a chart shared by everyone: anonymous, never publishing a single reading or your track.

NAUTICAL CHARTS
• Official IHM charts (Spain) plus OpenSeaMap, EMODnet and GEBCO bathymetry.
• Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom and a global mode to sail anywhere in the world.
• Depths, navigation channels, buoys and marks, danger zones, contour lines and sea currents.
• Download by area and navigate with no internet connection.

SEA LAYERS (Copernicus)

### 2.9 — 2026-08-29

COMMUNITY SOUNDINGS

• Connect your boat's sounder over NMEA and GeoSea records the real depth — corrected for tide and for the transducer depth — and draws it on your chart like a paper chart.
• If you want, those readings join a chart shared by all skippers. Sharing is anonymous: unordered, with the time rounded and under an identifier that changes weekly. A single reading or your track is never published, and nothing within 300 m of your berth is recorded.
• You can turn it off at any time and withdraw what you contributed.

FIXED

• AIS ships: they were arriving from the server but were not being drawn on the map.
• When you zoom right in, the chart is no longer covered by blocks of colour.
• The ad slot no longer takes up space when there is no connection to load it.
• Your favourites and recorded trips are no longer lost when the app updates.
• Tides for Las Palmas and Santa Cruz de Tenerife recalibrated against the real tide gauge.

FASTER, AND IN MORE PLACES

• Downloading an area is far lighter: only the piece you drew is fetched, not the whole region.
• You can download in more parts of the world, and coverage can grow without waiting for a new app version.

EASIER TO USE

• Settings by category: a bar at the top jumps straight to AIS, layers, alarms, storage…
• Shortcuts (swipe up on the bottom buttons) now include Settings, and you can reorder them.
• The tutorial explains the shortcut-fan gesture, which nobody used to discover.
• Favourites are marked with a classic map pin.

### 2.8 — 2026-07-29

What's new:
- More accurate tides, now consistent between iPhone and Android.
- The tide widget now shows whether the tide is rising or falling.
- Widgets: new text size setting and fixed text getting cut off.
- Share your favourite spots with another device: one or all at once.
- New Favourite button on the map cross, saving exactly at the point.
- Marine weather loads more reliably.

### 2.7 — 2026-07-22

Home screen widgets

GeoSea now works outside the app. Four new widgets:

- Tide: current sea height with its trend, today's high and low tides, and the tidal range.
- Best fishing day: today's solunar score, best time window and best day of the week.
- Marine weather: wind and gusts, wave height and water temperature.
- Today's solunar: moon phase, sunrise and sunset, moonrise and moonset.

Each one shows in a corner the spot its data comes from: the nearest fishing spot, or one you pin yourself.

Make them yours

- Choose what each widget shows by ticking the data you care about.
- Change the colour: quick swatches plus hue and brightness controls for any colour you want. Text adjusts its own contrast, light backgrounds included.
- Resize them. The bigger the widget, the bigger the type.

Set everything up there and preview how each widget will look before placing it.

AIS collision alarm

You can now fine-tune the warning distance and time with sliders.

- "Best fishing times" revamped: we now recommend when and what time to head out, with a clearer chart, a score out of 100 and a 7-day outlook.
- Better landscape view on tablets: 6 buttons shown, swipe for the rest; the subscription screen now uses 2 columns.
- The location name now matches in the solunar view.
- Minor fixes and stability improvements.
