GEOSEA ON YOUR WATCH • Speed, heading, depth and tide at a glance on your wrist, without pulling out your phone. Four screens you swipe through: navigation, tide, anchor and fishing. • The watch chart mirrors the phone's: your downloaded area, favourites, route, track and fishing spots, with the same icons. • From the watch itself: mark Man Overboard, save a waypoint and feel it on your wrist if the boat starts dragging. • And you now choose WHAT its chart shows: ships (AIS), favourites, hazards, route and fishing spots, each with its own switch. • Settings rebuilt: language and reference point are picked from a full-screen list with large rows. The place name is now the same on all four pages. WITHOUT THE PHONE NEARBY (optional) • If you leave the phone behind or it runs out of battery, the watch turns on ITS OWN GPS and keeps giving you position, speed and heading. • It keeps watching your anchorage and warns you of dragging, working it out on your wrist. • It ships off and tells you what it costs: battery goes from days to a few hours. • And the refresh button really refreshes: if the watch has a SIM and the phone is not around, it fetches the wave height, the water temperature and the AIS ships over its own connection. Only when you press it, to save battery; the tide it works out on its own, with no network. ALARMS YOU CAN UNDERSTAND • If something sounds, a panel appears saying what is happening and what to do, with mute one tap away. It minimises, but does not close while the warning stands. • What you mute on the watch is muted on the phone, and the other way round. • AIS collision risk is no longer just a voice: it shows in the panel and on the watch, with how many ships and how close the nearest one passes. • New alert when an AIS vessel comes closer than the distance you choose: it sounds on the watch and on the phone, and you set it from the watch for both. It is not the collision one: this warns even if you are both stopped, which is what you want anchored at night. FINER TIDES • On spring tides the model fell short in the Canary ports without their own gauge. In Agaete the error drops from 22 to 6 centimetres. • The monthly table drew heights two and a half metres too low, so high waters came out negative. Fixed. • A dial with a needle shows at a glance whether the tide is rising or falling, on the watch, in the widgets and inside the app. EASIER TO USE • The «i» button on the panels was the worst touch target in the app; it is now a wide tab with an arrow showing where the information goes. • Landscape fixed: the panels spilled over the top and the upper curtain left its handle off screen. • The three shortcut fans start with different shortcuts, none repeated. • Prices are read from the store, so you see them in your own currency wherever you are. SIX LANGUAGES, AND NO LICENCE NEEDED • GeoSea now speaks Spanish, English, French, German, Italian and Portuguese, fully translated, including both watch apps. • You can choose «No licence»: no circle around your position and no limit alarm. The licences are still there for whoever wants them. FIXED • In the route creator the SAVE button was covered by the map and there was no way to save a route. • The Premium bubble stole taps far from where it appears. • Permissions were asked in English to people whose phone was in Spanish. • A self-detected anchorage is no longer lost, and if the phone loses GPS the watch says so instead of showing a stale position.
