Firstly, this is an incredible instrument that sounds amazing! I had an issue with geoshred play and pro, app store related, and they responded immediately and solved the problem. This is a top notch app with top notch support.

I’m not a musician but I play one at home. I’ll never play this like Mr.  Rudess but if I reach 1/100 th  of his talent I’ll be alright. I plain to use it mostly for add on sounds on my garage band tracks. Very relaxing.

After watching Jordan Rudess demonstrate GeoShred I had to try it and I really love using it. It’s very well laid out, easy to use, incredibly fun, and makes it easy to start being creative.

My kid loves sliding around the notes and seeing her face light up with joy when she finds a note she likes is an added bonus.

### 5/5 — Magical part of this app is Gamakas in Carnatic instruments

This is a must have app for students of Carnatic music. Since my interest is in Carnatic music , my views are limited to that. Carnatic Violin : Every Swara is very accurate , sliding effect sounds very close to real instrument. Though it can’t match physical violin , i think it is the next best thing. As student of Carnatic Violin, I first play swaras on Geoshred and make it register in my mind and then when I play it on real violin, things are much easier. I practice violin in C# shruthi, as it helps me to sing along . I have tested all 12 swaras and gamakas in c# by comparing with actual violin , it sounded very close. Oher instruments I have bought : Sarswathi Veena, Geo Flute and Nadaswara . All of them produce accurate swars as per shruthi (I don’t have any experience in playing any of these and yet to test Nadaswara ) I received excellent support from the moforte team.

The best music app on my iPad - super realistic physically modelled instruments and an amazingly responsive control surface with the iPad or iPhone.  Tons of fun to play and you can lose yourself in the simple joy of creation. I ended up buying a bunch of the instruments because they let even a novice like me make some beautiful music!  I would give it 6 stars if they had that rating!

But I have a advice that maybe the UI still can be more pretty and there can be more tutorials about working with other DAWs!

This is pretty much a SUPER limited version much like a free trial but that costs 15$…. 
You can only play the super distorted electric guitar on a minor pentatonic scale. If you want to do anything else you’ll need to buy the overpriced 40$ "pro" app

Thanks for your feedback! It looks like there may be some confusion — GeoShred Play is definitely capable of playing more than a single scale. If you go to Menu > Settings > Scale/Root, you’ll find over 200 scales available to choose from.

GeoShred Play is a powerful performance version of GeoShred. It includes the built-in guitar model and access to 200+ expressive presets like Electric Guitars, Feedback Distortion Guitar, Steel Dobro Acoustic, Classical Acoustic, Sitars, and GeoJamTrax — which feature easy-to-play presets with backing tracks and a diatonic (no wrong notes) keyboard.

You can also expand your sound palette by adding any of the 31 GeoSWAM and Naada instruments available in the store. There's no need to purchase GeoShred Pro separately — GeoShred Play can be upgraded to GeoShred Play+Pro for a fraction of the price of the full Pro version. Just go to Menu > Store to explore the upgrade options.

why is this so hyped. its a toy, its a gimmick. lots of garish flashy stylish colours but zero substance. & nothing new .. .. gotta love the “diwali discount” at full exorbitant price (says its free but isnt) & it doesn’t stop there .. app told me to get free extra presets by subscribing but, i didnt get any extra presets so i was misled. have fun selling on my email address , i guess. this probably is against app store terms … shame on you ..

Hallo, 
ich habe die Software in Kombination mit den GeoShred SWAM Bundle gekauft. Der Trick an der Sache ist der, dass das vom Bundle ausschließlich MPE Controller unterstützt werden – und keine normalen MIDI Controller. Das hätte einmal jemand vorher erzählen sollen.
Was ein Nepp !

The product description page for GeoShred Play clearly states: *Note: The GeoSWAM instruments can ONLY be played from the GeoShred keyboard or MPE controller.  The GeoSWAM models are physics models of real instruments and require a multi-dimensional controller, the GeoShred Keyboard or an MPE controller,  to be performed.  Here is how to get a refund from Apple:  https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204084 .

geoshread play did not update to pro ? not good!.

**Developer response:** Updated Nov 30, 2021.   Have you been able to solve this problem.  Typically "Menu> Restore Purchases" will complete the In-App-Purchase if it was not completed.  When upgraded, the app will remain GeoShred Play but will be upgraded to the features of GeoShred Pro. Look and see if you see MIDI on the menu.  Have you been able to resolve this, If not, please contact us and we will provide you with an upgrade code.  Please contact us directly at support@moforte.com

Было великолепное приложение. Купил давно расширение pro версию и пользовался постоянно. А тут захожу в приложение и все что я настраивал исчезло! Ужасное отношение к пользователям.
А еще обещали новые звуки интересные, а кроме индийских инструментов не нужных так ничего и не добавили. Потому постоянно играю через cubase и geoshred как midi controller, звуки же сторонние.
Также Ужасно навязывают свой магазин! Я уже купил то что мне нужно, но в приложении куча неудаляемых библиотек и они постоянно выпрыгивают «купи, купи» и даже закрыть нельзя, обязательно переход в магазин. 
Просто хочется уже иногда сказать что разработчики издеваются, платишь за покупку немало денег и с тобой обращаются как будто ты ничего не платил. 
Зато мою библиотеку удалили. СВОЮ УДАЛИТЬ ДАЙТЕ!!!

**Developer response:** Вероятнее всего, вы столкнулись с проблемой, связанной с iCloud. Пожалуйста, откройте приложение «Файлы» и перейдите в папку GeoShred. Ваши пресеты и сет-листы должны находиться именно там. Возможно, вам потребуется переустановить GeoShred Play, чтобы приложение принудительно обновило данные из директории iCloud. Recent update has a bug not present in previous version. When playing Geo Violin if you play two simultaneous notes the sound engine crashes so all you hear is the attack portion of the violin sound so no trills are possible. As mentioned before this did not happen in the previous version. Will update review when this is fixed.

**Developer response:** We are aware that this issue is new and plan to fix it in the next bug fix release. The finger/MPE expression function is a toggle between finger expression and pad expression. It's necessary to move the pad to keep driving the expression. This is explained in detail in the video "Application Note #33: Getting Started with the GeoSWAM Instruments". Go to 6:30. We plan to fix this in the next release. In the mean time, gently moving the pad for expression will mitigate the issue.    Note that using a review for customer support is ineffective.  It takes 2 days for us to see your review, and you don't see our response for 2 days.  It's really more effective to work with us on solving the problem. I have been on the hunt for Indian AU instruments for the iPad for playing live at our Church and Geoshred is the only one that has set a Gold Standard for not just Indian Instruments but also Violins and Saxophones… And niche ones like Ouds…. The sounds are extremely realistic with so many options to play with… If you are a musician and have an iPad, this one is a Must Have… Thanks Pat for all the help in setting this up with my gig… Their customer support is awesome too… You can reach out to them for any queries and they’ll always be one step ahead of you in wanting to resolve it…

It’s an awesome pro app but one problem as we change the scale for playing instruments there is no option to change the scale of backing track please update this also.

I needed technical support, and I was truly amazed by the promptness as well as the knowledge and solutions that were provided. The issue was in no way caused by Geoshred, but rather hardware from my end. Pat Scandalis was there to help me from start to finish. Also want to mention that Geoshred is an amazing app and instrument!! There are no limits to what this program can do either as stand-alone or in your DAW.

GeoShred Play is one of the most powerful and expressive music apps I’ve ever used. The sound quality is outstanding — every note feels alive, especially with the smooth pitch bends and realistic instrument modeling. The interface is intuitive even for beginners, yet offers deep control for serious musicians.
It’s amazing how easily you can play Indian ragas, western scales, or even create your own unique sounds. Pairing it with a MIDI keyboard or using the touch surface itself gives a real performance feel. The “Play” version gives a great taste of what the full GeoShred can do.
Highly recommend it for anyone interested in making real music on mobile — from hobbyists to pros. 🎸🎹

And that modeling guitar really can't make the tone better?
