### 5/5 — The app I’ve been waiting for 🎉

*2015-06-30, version 1.0*

The one thing that’s guaranteed to make me leave my DSLR at home, is the fact I know my images won’t be geotagged when I import them. Sure, we had Geotag Photos Pro on the iPhone, but then there was still having to sit at a computer and stitch the GPS data in, prior to import.

But with this new app, I run Geotag Photos Pro on the iPhone while I’m shooting with the DSLR… upload the .gpx file when I’m done (I use the Dropbox Sync method) … take the SD card out of my camera, stick it in my iPad camera connection kit, import the photos… and then – magically – I can just add the GPS data direct, using this app. Superb! No computers involved, and like it says in the blurb… all this works seamlessly with iCloud Photo Library, so you’ll have your best photos turning up on the map in Photos.app, on iPhone, iPad & Mac.

Worth the price – it’s saved me from buying a wifi-enabled DSLR, just to get geotagging!

### 1/5 — Wasted money

*2018-07-10, version 1.9.3*

Just paid $13 for this app and the Contact us function doesn’t work. It says I need to gpx file but need log in....can’t log in unless I pay for another app..........very disappointed

### 1/5 — Disappointing app

*2018-05-30, version 1.9.3*

Asking for a username and password but doesn’t let you create one ?

### 1/5 — Crash all the time

*2017-11-04*

Absolute crap. Crashed on my iPad all the time after last update

### 2/5 — So promising but….

*2024-06-08, version 1.10.3*

Does what it says, I’m using it for a trip to Europe to geotag photos from my dslr which has no gps by using a gps tracker on my phone then using the resulting gpx file to tag the photos after importing the images to my iPad. But I did a long day and ended up with a gpx file of more than 5000 points and the iPad app then crashes when trying to import the gpx file.

### 2/5 — Nearly purchased it

*2020-09-24, version 1.10.1*

Trying to figure out the DSLR -> IOS -> Lightroom CC workflow. This app looked to do it, until I realised that it doesn’t write to the EXIF file, so as soon as it’s imported into Lightroom, it looses the geotagging.

If this could be fixed to write EXIF for each photo, the app would solve that crucial problem!

### 2/5 — Great app but doesn’t work with iPad OS 13?

*2019-10-19*

This was a really great app for any photographer that wanted to geo tag locations and apply them to their DSLR photos. Doesn’t seem to be working on ipad OS 13. The app loads just fine, but I get a spinning loading sign on the current map as it tries to load the current GPX data from iCloud. Tried to airdrop it from my iPhone too and the same issues apply. Hope this app gets up and running soon because it was powerful.

**Developer response:** Hi, we're so sorry to hear that you experience such an issue with our app, and we will do our best to help. Could you please reach out to our support team at helpme@tappytaps.com and tell us on what device have you experienced this issue? We will help you.

### 2/5 — Crashes after tagging 5 photos...

*2017-11-22*

Crashes after tagging 5 photos. Have to restart and start over again.

### 3/5 — Functional but lacking

*2022-09-22, version 1.10.3*

Basic workflow of “Open GPX file, see I tagged photos, Tag untagged photos” works well

You can’t open a GPX file from the Files app. Airdropping a GPX file to the iPhone gives the option of opening in the app, but the app ignores it.

There is no way to bulk import multiplie GPX files.

### 3/5 — Good but missing a critical feature

*2017-09-06, version 1.8*

Really good interface, easy to use and sets up the location of my images on my iPhone. However what it does is set up the location of the images on just my iPhone not in the data of the image file(EXIF). When I import the images afterwards with Photos on my Mac it loses the information. If it could edit the EXIF of the image file it would be ideal. I believe this is possible on iOS10 as I have other apps than can do this just not from a GPX file.

### 4/5 — Good app but incomplete

*2016-08-01, version 1.7*

Does what it says, but then you have to have an iPhone only app from the same developer to record the route required for geotagging the photos. Would've been nice if this app did both to eliminate the need for 2 apps and GPX file upload/download.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Works well and extremely fast

*2022-09-21, version 1.10.3*

This little app does exactly what it says it does. What’s more, it does it phenomenally fast. So nice to see an app that delivers on its promise dependably and quickly. All apps should be so good.

### 5/5 — Works exactly as advertised

*2022-09-17*

I needed to correct the geotagging on some photos taken with 16.1 beta and broken gps. I was easily able to import a gpx from another device and effortlessly fix my photos. Thanks!

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you for your great review! We are happy that our app has helped you. 😊

### 5/5 — Makes my old DSLR up to date!

*2021-08-09*

I have an older Nikon D60 and still love it. I’ve been a Geotag Photos user doe years, and I used to travel with my Mac to be able to geotag my photos. Now I can just use my I phone! The photos flawlessly tag with my GPX file from Geotag Photos 2, and the time sync works for when you forget to adjust camera time.

Now with only my iPhone I can tag my location, get my photos on my iCloud, and share everything! I enjoy that it tags my photos across all my devices via iCloud.

(I use the iPhone dongle to read photos in from my SD card, the Apple photos app, and my photo library is synced with iCloud across devices.)

### 5/5 — Works Perfectly

*2021-04-18, version 1.10.2*

I use this App in conjunction with my DJI Pocket camera, which doesn’t have GPS capabilities. It is simple and reliable to use. The companion App (Geotag Photos Pro) collects GPS data, which is merged with the photos/videos. This software combination has removed a major frustration of not being able to easily identify geographic locations. A perfect solution!

### 5/5 — Perfect 😍

*2020-09-22*

Exactly what I need. After the few try I bought full version directly. Only one issue concerns me: the photos with tagged gps info look good when I used EXIF app to check the details, but when I imported them into my diary app it showed no GPS info so I just wonder what’s wrong...

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you so much for your kind feedback. Unfortunately, the exact position is assigned to the photo directly, not to the EXIF file. We apologize for any inconvenience, and don't hesitate to contact us at helpme@tappytaps.com.

### 5/5 — Great app for geotagging photos from your DSLR

*2019-11-30*

Well-designed app, regularly updated by the developer. I’ve used this to successfully geotag thousands of photos from my Nikon.

This app is a companion app that geotags photos, using the geotag file log (GPX file) created by the sister app on your iPhone. I use the other app on my iPhone when I’m out and about, shooting photos ww my Nikon, and I use this app to attach the geotag location data to the Nikon files (both RAW and JPEG).

Highly recommended.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you so much for your feedback, we're glad to hear you enjoy our app and that it helps you! :)

### 5/5 — Easy to use and to add geotags to imported photos

*2019-08-11*

I used the trial version to geotag mountain bike photos I got from a friend without geotags. It worked flawlessly. The time code on the camera was different, but due to the offset feature in the app it was easy to correct it and more or less accurately tag 13 additional photos. If I have to use the app more often I would consider to buy the unlimited version.

**Developer response:** Hi, thank you very much for your feedback, we're happy that you enjoyed our app! :)

### 5/5 — Amazing app!

*2017-04-23*

Outperforms any app hands down, including any manufacturer's app. Well designed and works flawlessly - with only 2 taps was able geotag a trip! Bought it immediately and is the best money spent in a long time.

One comment for the developer - you need to build more awareness about your suite of apps. Reason being, even though I have been using Geotag Pro for many years, didn't know that there was a new version (2.0) or even this companion app. And judging by the paucity of reviews for this, I'm probably not the only one.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2016-12-25*

Very easy to tag photos. Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Easier than any Mac solution

*2016-11-02*

It takes a gpx track file and tags everything that matches in your photo library. It's simple, stable, and extremely effective.
