## What is German for Kids?

German for Kids is designed especially for auditory, kinesthetic, and visual learners:

• Match it to its picture
• Drag and drop!

Learners of all ages can build a basic set of German vocabulary while enjoying beautiful hand-drawn scenes of everyday life.

Each level begins with a Learning mode, showing you the picture and the word, then kicks it up a notch to a Practice mode in which you must match the German word to its place in the scene. Challenge yourself to complete every scene and earn Game Center achievements!

The House and Family scene is included in this free version and a single in-app purchase unlocks the remaining ten scenes so you can follow the rest of the story, returning to each scene at any time.

Associating the target language word to an image rather than simply to its English translation makes for deeper learning. German for Kids is a perfect companion to any foreign language learning in your life!

It’s great for improving vocabulary using visual cues and the exercises are quite repetitive and it’s helps. Sometimes the audio doesn’t work, so that could be fixed but over all great app design to help improve vocabulary when learning German.

Found this for my nephew who had been learning German at school before lockdown and doing well he loves it and I have been playing too to try and help him although he doesn’t need it as he has been helping me hahah however I am surprised how much I am retaining great repetition and excellent visuals

I am an English speaking adult and visual is HUGE in terms of learning a language. You learned your first language the same way. By words being attached to a visual. So I like this app. I give it a 4 because I like it. Not because it's perfect. My only criticism would be to have a slow down her voice option. Like in Duolingo app there is a turtle and you can repeat the word slowly. It's nice because pronouncing words is so important and german mixed with computer voices is really off. I'm thankful I have a spouse to help me. I would also like the ease of drag and drop to be way way better. The spoon for example is so small it's almost impossible to drag the word to it. Thanks for a fun app.

This app did wonders in preparing both of our elementary school aged kids for a month long trip to Germany! The app was fun enough that they were happy to sit down and spend some time learning, and the skills stuck with them. Even learned a couple words myself! I'd definitely recommend this for any kid looking to learn beginning German, or parents looking to teach their family without much hassle!

Now, a long press on the left arrow below each scene takes you all the way back to the start, just like a long press on the right arrow takes you to the end. Practice away to your heart's content! We've also fixed some tricky item placements in the Kitchen scene and improved the tutorial. And, we've replaced the more formal Großmutter and Großvater with Oma and Opa like German kids (and many American ones too) really call their Grandma and Grandpa.

We’re excited to bring you this significant update to German for Kids! Learners now begin by selecting a character and then joining them on their journey to a new country. Follow along through this new story mode, or master each scene in the order you wish via Choose Scene from the Home menu. Two new scenes are included in this version's optional in-app purchase:

• Conversations: all the pleasantries and the basic questions and answers you need to know when making friends in a new land.

• Numbers: counting from 1-10 plus an introduction to number patterns through 100,000.

We’ve also made it easier to place small objects within each scene, especially handy for learners on iPhones. A number of other small bugfixes and improvements are included here too.

Finally, all apps in this series now include a free preview of our best selling Geo Touch app. Choose US from the Choose Scenes view and learn the states for free!

(Note that a single in-app purchase is now offered. If you have previously purchased any scene, you will receive access to all available scenes, including the two new ones, once you restore purchases in this new version.)
