### 3/5 — Needs updates

*2023-12-01, version 2.52*

Its a very solid telnet app and it has RAW telnet which the only app I’ve seen that has that option but it really needs an UI update and some other minor updates

### 2/5 — Abandoned?

*2021-11-10, version 2.52*

Looks like the product has been abandoned by the developer. No updates, software doesn’t work well on iOS in new versions.

Sucks because they worked well when they were being maintained.

### 4/5 — Works great!

*2020-12-05, version 2.52*

It has a lot of features and settings can be a bit of a challenge but it works great and does everything I need it to do.
Some of the settings are in black font on dark gray background making them hard to read.

The Send Feedback feature in settings sends email to a nonexistent email address.

### 4/5 — Not notch compatible, but great besides.

*2020-08-24, version 2.50.1*

Been using this for years with my tablet and the Airconsole LE. Wanted to try with my iPhone 11 and wasn’t able to switch to Full terminal. Need to move that ui button away from the notch.

### 4/5 — Great! just a few bugs

*2020-07-21, version 2.50.1*

I’ve tried literally every SHH/Telnet app I could find on the App Store and so far ‘Get Console’ is by far the only one that works properly with my CNC Screens. I love and praise it.

However there are a few bugs I wish to report.
- the saved connections section doesn’t properly delete connections I want to delete.
- app crashes when I delete multiple times

### 2/5 — Cant see cursor!!!!!! There isnt one! Why???? How it is possible edit your commands ?

*2020-03-05, version 2.49*

Ridiculous, keyboard is good though, but makes it unusable without cursor being visible in terminal!!!

### 3/5 — Potential

*2019-10-03, version 2.49*

Tons of potential, but the terminal itself needs some work.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t work on iPhone X.

*2018-11-02, version 2.49*

App opens up but will only work with a console cable. Button to switch to full terminal doesn’t work.

### 2/5 — Not pleased with main function

*2017-12-30, version 2.42*

I love the ability to have a full console connection from my iOS devices and I like the other options built into this app. However, the main function, providing a terminal connection is flawed by the not so user friendly display. I wish the terminal display was locked to the iOS device display. I don’t want to have to scroll side to side or pinch to zoom in or out. The well known app Termius does this perfectly well. I want the option to lock the width and height to the display I’m using.

### 3/5 — Dropbox support

*2017-11-23, version 2.42*

Getting a warning/error when linking to Dropbox about this app not supporting the current Dropbox integration/API. Please update.

### 3/5 — Could be awesome with stability improvements

*2016-08-25, version 2.25*

If you want to manage serial console devices, this is about your only choice. It's got all the features and configuration options you could want. I love the fine tuning of options and the ability to save and share configurations. But (and it's a big but) GetConsole's increasing instability is starting to make it almost useless. Unfortunate especially for a rather pricey app. Whatever the startup "Searching for Air Console..." is supposed to be doing, the only effect it seems to have is to crash the app. Many users (like me) cannot use wireless devices in our environment so the RedPark cable option is perfect. I am hoping they turn their attention to basic stability. More and more I must fall back to SecureCRT to connect using my RedPark cable. I end up using which one doesn't crash.

### 2/5 — Great except for crashes

*2016-06-29, version 2.25*

It's great when it's working, but it crashes a _lot_. Both with the cable and the Bluetooth serial modules, it crashes whenever you switch to another app (say, to check email or a browser), will sometimes crash while you're using it.. it's just very unstable. That said, I haven't found anything that fills the niche other than this app and the Bluetooth serial modules.

### 4/5 — Great App with some minor issues

*2016-02-10, version 2.25*

I'm happy that I have found an App that can utilise my iPad even better than before. I have been using this for a week and so far I have below issue:

I'm using iPad pro and most of the time I'm using the keyboard case with it. The issue is when I try to put an IP address in the host name section of the connection manager, the auto correct foot bar of iPad will come up and that some how breaks the sidebar of Get-Console software and I can't see what am I typing there unless I close the auto correction bar - this issue doesn't show up if you don't use external keyboard. Please address this issue.

Thanks for your great work!

### 4/5 — Great app

*2015-12-17, version 2.25*

Seems to work well. I had to re-install it on my iPad as initially it just froze on startup which was strange.

It could benefit from being updated to take advantage of the iPad Pro screen and Retina HD screen on the 6s Plus, rather than being scaled up from 10" iPad and 4" iPhone respectively.

Another feature that would be great to add is multitasking support on iPad.

### 1/5 — Works, barely... Needs desperate improvement.

*2015-11-10, version 2.24*

This is another one of these classically designed apps for the Apple store that barely works and every time there's an iOS update it doesn't work well.

I purchased the app and have tried to use it with just standard, run-of-the-mill SSH connections and if you swap apps or try and go in and out to get commands or build a script between the app and others it crashes on iOS 9.1 on an iPhone 6 Plus.

Also, the way the interface is designed, it is pretty annoying to use the keyboard. It doesn't centre the screen on the scrollback to the top of the KB, so you're hiding the keyboard often to even SEE the results of a command.

So the guys here said that it makes it so they don't need a notebook… And I guess it really dirty pinch you can use it. I'd sooner use a surface tablet at that point... Which defeats the whole purpose of walking in with a functional iPhone or iPad mini and programming changes on a switch.

I would buy the Redpark cable for this, but with the way this app both crashes and has a poor interface - I'm seriously hesitant to do so and you should be too unless it's improved.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not working on my device

*2023-03-03, version 2.52*

New iPhone 15 Pro Max but the screen does not show correctly on the device options are above usable edges of the top and bottom of screen realty. Connection to demo or private server is not working. I have tried everything to no avail.

### 1/5 — Parts of the app are broken

*2022-06-03, version 2.52*

This doesn’t seem to be maintained. Using the easy share function crashes the app. The original promise the app was supposed to deliver has been removed.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2021-04-09, version 2.52*

I have used this app for years. Now on a newer iPad, the app fails to connect to the Blue Tooth Serial adapter. Just purchased the “Pro XL” kit, Waste of money. App now crashes repeatedly when attempting to connect.

### 1/5 — Needs to be fixed

*2020-09-29, version 2.52*

I’ve been using Get Console for years, I don’t know what they did with the last version but now it crashes as I type anything into it. Incidentally the connection manager and Sync has been broken for a long time on all my devices but I kept using it because I need a terminal emulator on my phone and iPad, now I can’t get 20 seconds into using the app because it crashes

### 1/5 — Keyboard support lacking, display config baffling

*2020-07-31, version 2.50.1*

Big fail on using the "control" button on a standard Apple Keypad. Just whiffs. Super disappointing.
Configuring display and scrolling just doesn't make sense. It doesn't seem to change the amount of text displayed on your screen, it may identify to your host device differently but it's not as useful as it could be.

All in all a disappointment compare to the positive reviews this app gets online.

### 1/5 — Terminal client crashes on large buffers with iPhone 11

*2019-12-04, version 2.49*

The device seems to work well, iPad and Pc/MacBook have 0 issues, but my iPhone 11 Pro Max, crashes on any show interface description of a 48port switch. Seems any large buffer command, kills it on the iPhone 11. This makes the app unusable, as I can’t do the above command, show log, show version, etc.

### 1/5 — Please update and fix!

*2019-11-07, version 2.49*

So very much potential to be a FANTASTIC terminal app, but isn't updated for iPhone X, and crashes randomly. I lost all of my saved sessions and any time I hit the share button from a live session, the app crashes completely. Please update. It's a PITA to even use the app with the Air Console...

### 1/5 — App closes on every use

*2018-11-14, version 2.49*

Have been unable to use the app don’t know if it’s because of the iOS update or the program itself, App will open up just fine but whatever connected and receiving information into the application I am unable to do anything after that cannot copy and paste cannot use file manager without the app closing, And unable to get tech-support have received one reply from them have not heard anything since then.

### 1/5 — No go on iPad Pro 2018 12.9

*2018-11-10, version 2.49*

App opens up into full screen few. Button to get the menu is hidden so that no connection can be made.

### 1/5 — Can’t switch to terminal

*2018-11-04, version 2.49*

The switch to full terminal button is under the notch on the Xs and I can’t tap it even with reachability. Please fix.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best free ssh client

*2022-06-03, version 2.52*

I don’t do command line from my iPhone much so I cannot speak to that aspect but for testing a connection to my pi over the internet this was free and easy. I was able to easily scroll through the terminal and navigate through folders.

### 5/5 — Works Flawlessly!

*2019-02-13, version 2.49*

I am a network engineer and have had a hell of a time finding things that work with iOS and my Macbook Pro. While I have not tried this with my macbook- it has always worked flawlessly on my iphone XS Max and my previous X. I use it with the console cable and can do what I need to do seamlessly without having to pull out my laptop. I rarely write reviews, but this was deserving in my opinion. Keep up the great work Devs! Thank you!

### 5/5 — iPhone AirConsole User For Life

*2017-12-28, version 2.42*

Blowing peoples minds when I set up and fix devices from my iPhone. Configure some scripts and provisioning and breaking devices is a snap. No longer dependent on a PC for serial.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2017-02-11, version 2.30*

I love it. This is the best app to use to connect to serial ports.

### 5/5 — Essential the difference between a toy and a tool

*2015-12-08, version 2.24*

I am a network engineer and I use this along with the get console dongle to wirelessly serial into switches .. It's awesome I use it with my phone and my iPad speaking of ........it would be nice if it supported split screen with Safari on the iPad Pro

### 5/5 — Great App for Network Admins

*2015-11-10, version 2.24*

Great App with best features, like as Dropbox Sync, copy & paste and more. New edition is BUG free. Thanks alot :)
Be connected ;)

### 5/5 — Great app

*2015-10-24, version 2.22*

Very useful app. Require external cable.

### 5/5 — Awesome :)

*2015-04-22, version 2.21*

It would be great if you could send location and time data, etc. from the iPhone GPS in proper sentences then you could use the phone with a laptop.

### 5/5 — Excellent all around

*2014-10-20, version 2.06*

Whether you have the serial cable or are just looking for a telnet/SSH client it's the only one I've found that satisfactorily supports an external keyboard. Has a good no-frills and frills mode. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Fantastic App and support

*2014-03-31, version 1.104*

I use Get-Console on my iPad2 along with the Airconsole adapter.

The app is great. It supports a “Connection Manager” which allows directories so that you can organize your connection objects.

Each connection object allows custom settings and you can create a login script and assign it to the connection. As soon as the connection comes up the script logs you in. There is a lot more you can do with the scripting engine besides login scripts.

It is fully integrated with Dropbox and you can configure it to automatically log every connection and save it to dropbox.

There is “CMD” button that allow you to save often used commands for quick entry and you can save complete text files in dropbox and instantly paste them into a device or paste what is in the clipboard.

It supports Telnet, SSH and Serial using either the RedPark cable or the AirConsole.

The Airconsole is the best $70 tool I have ever purchased. It provides a serial console connection over wifi. But it also has an Ethernet jack so you can connect to a console port for serial and then connect the ethernet port for TFTP (built into the Get-Console App). Plus it has a DHCP server built in. You can connect the Airconsole Ethernet port to any device that is configured for DHCP and it will hand out an address. Now you just connect your iPad or laptop to the Airconsole and you have Ethernet access to the device. I use it to configure iLo on HP servers all the time. Battery life is about 5 hours but you can charge it while using it. Almost any device with a USB port will charge it so it’s never a problem in a rack with servers.

With the Airconsole device I don’t need to bring a laptop any longer. I have Serial, telnet and SSH right on the iPad with a great application. If I have wifi at the site I don’t even need the Airconsole! Plus, it works over VPN so if the site doesn’t have wifi but I have 3G coverage I just connect the VPN and use telnet/SSH for existing switches.

I have only had a couple questions and the developers were very quick to respond. At one point I smashed the usb/serial cable in the hinge of a wall mount rack and they gave me a big discount on the replacement!

I purchased an app that scans the network using SNMP. At a customer site I run that, grab the output and create the connection objects in a short time.
