Just seems like Android gets all the perks related to this dynamic. When creating my website I needed a push notification to be sent to me every time someone purchases a product and with pushed it is really so simple to setup with a simple API call. I started to leave this review but then realized I wasn’t sure if the app was opened in the background or not, so I held off since I thought that would be good to know. I closed out the app and waited. Just moments ago I received a new alert! So, despite the issues some others are apparently having, it’s working perfectly for me. Disclosure: I’m using the app on my iPhone 8+ which is running the latest iOS 13 beta, in case that matters to anyone.
