Touching the screen constantly in such a finicky control style is terrible compared to a joystick! ### 5/5 — Controls and Port Review *2026-04-08, version 1.14* I’m writing this review to answer some of the questions I had before I purchased this game for iOS. Controls: The controls did take some time to get used to, and I did have to adjust the sensitivity slider a bit so that it worked the way I wanted it to. But I was able to get it all working rather well within just a few minutes of messing around with the settings and experimenting. Difficulty: This game is naturally hard, but to give you an idea of how the iOS port is compared to the mobile: I have over 50 wins on PC and can usually do a run within 10-15 min. On this port for iOS it took me 24 min and 37 seconds for my first completion on mobile. That includes the time it took to mess around with getting used to the touch screen controls and adjusting the sensitivity. Run notes: I’d say the only really troubling part for me on my first run on mobile was trying to do the bucket with touch screen controls. Everything else was pretty smooth sailing. Graphics quality: Not quite as good as on pc, but still a great port for mobile. As of 2026 this game looks pretty good even on an iPhone. Overall game / port review: This app is absolutely worth the $5 and I will probably end up getting 50+ wins here too. It’s a great game and it’s nice to be able to pick up and play for a few minutes here and there to make a little more progress on your run. Fantastic work to the developers who ported this game to iOS, and of course to Bennett Foddy who created such a beautiful game to begin with. Hats off to you all! But the more I played, the more I learned from my mistakes and pushed forward. I eventually got it drilled in my head that’s it’s just a game, and I need to, well, get over it. Gameplay wise, it’s great. While playing I experienced no lag, no problems, nothing. It’s a perfect 1:1 port with the PC version I’ve seen people play.
