### 3/5 — Fix your gps instructions

*2026-08-11, version 3.6*

Currently giving false information. Still lists areas on the battle field as closed and to detour even though they are open. For example Big
Round top is open but it tries detouring you.

### 3/5 — 7th generation southern review

*2026-07-13, version 3.6*

The app could be more informative on getting started, very difficult to find the starting point. Secondly the narrative should not be so one sided, and remember that the south and southerners are very much part of the United States. The narrative made it as the south was the enemy. I found that parts of the narration was false. I would encourage sticking with the facts and make the narration neutral.

### 2/5 — Doesn’t Support Apple CarPlay

*2026-06-18, version 3.6*

I was looking for a tour that would show me a map of my progress on the battlefield while also giving me the gps-triggered narrative. While I appreciated the clear and no-drama contextualized narrative of the highlights at and between stops, it took me 30 minutes of struggling to connect the audio tour to my Apple CarPlay in the parking lot of the Visitors Center that I finally clicked the right button which told me the app wasn’t optimized for CarPlay and Androids. Instead, I was informed I could still follow my progress on my iPhone. That might be fine if I had someone to hold it and direct me. But I was touring the battlefield alone. If you’re using Apple CarPlay or an Android, avoid this app.

### 2/5 — Not worth the money

*2026-06-02, version 3.6*

This auto tour is a basic tour that gives average information on the battle. It misses major points of the battle such as Lee’s headquarters even though you drive right past this important location. The NPS paper map is just as good for a general feel for the battle.

### 5/5 — The ‘Stories’ are worth it

*2025-08-16, version 3.3*

I live near enough to Gettysburg that I’ve been there many times in my life. This tour was by far the best! The ‘More Stories’ absolutely made this trip the most engaging and exciting one! I went down new roads, heard new things, and FELT like I could actually understand the battle. Meade’s horse, Pickett’s Charge, the High-Water Mark… I know people may have thought ‘What’s she looking at?”, “Why is she standing by that tree?”… because I’m hearing a story from where it happened that you just don’t hear on a bus tour (at my pace, it was a lot cheaper, and in my vehicle’s AC). Win Win!

### 5/5 — Auto Tour

*2025-08-11, version 3.3*

This tour was wonderful! You follow the Auto Tour signs. When you arrive at a point of interest the audio starts playing to tell you what you are looking at and what interesting things happen at this stop . For us this was so much better than hopping on and off from a bus tour with 50 people

### 5/5 — Great!!!!

*2025-07-30, version 3.3*

Well researched and worked well. I saw areas of the battlefield I had never been to before. Well worth the $15

### 5/5 — Great tour

*2025-07-26, version 3.3*

Well worth it. We used the Gettysburg and Antietam tours. Love the stories. Love the flexibility of starting and ending the tour whenever we wanted.

### 5/5 — Great Auto tour

*2025-07-19, version 3.1*

Loved this app. Keeps you on track and the historical stories and references are incredible

### 5/5 — Wonderful App!

*2025-07-13, version 3.1*

We had a great day and tour at Gettysburg using this app. We were a 60 and older crew in the car, and all of us learned new things about the battlefield - it was an easy app to use and get around town. Looking forward to using the Ghost Tour of Gettysburg next. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2025-07-12, version 3.1*

This worked even better than I thought it would. We all loved it

### 5/5 — Wonderful

*2025-07-05, version 3.1*

We thoroughly enjoyed the auto tour of Gettysburg. We were able to see the sites at our own pace. Very well put together!

### 5/5 — Worth the purchase

*2025-07-04, version 3.1*

This very nicely walks you (or drives you) through Gettysburg in the comfort of your own space and at your own pace. A few hiccups by operator error, but do not regret the purchase.

### 5/5 — Great way to tour

*2025-06-28, version 3.1*

Very informative

### 5/5 — Awesome companion

*2025-06-28, version 3.1*

This was well worth the money. Really explained a lot about the battles and story behind everything. Can’t wait to go back and finish some of the other tours.

### 5/5 — A must do in GBG

*2025-03-06, version 2.6*

I’d recommend getting the GBG tours in the Action Tour main app, because then you can add additional tours and they are all in the same place. It’s the same exact tour. We’ve also done Valley Forge and have another couple queued up. Makes for a great thing to do during a vacation, or in our case when we split up a long drive, we will do a tour somewhere in the middle for fun. Can’t recommend enough.

### 3/5 — Works but not GuideAlong

*2024-09-28, version 2.6*

Maybe we were just spoiled by the GuideAlong tours we’ve used. Seemed like there was not much depth, not much unexpected or surprising and lots of dead air between audio segments. The NPS audio tour doesn’t auto trigger but has much more information about the battle. This app works but could be better.

### 5/5 — Terrific app for the auto tour

*2024-07-11, version 2.5*

We wanted to do the Gettysburg auto tour but didn’t want to hire someone to drive with us. The app worked great, was easy to use, and was very informative.

Well worth the money. Loved how it knew where we were while on the tour.

One note, the audio will do silent between landmarks. Don’t mess with it and it will start back up on its own.

Glad we found it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Great app

*2026-07-01, version 3.6*

Gettysburg was great but it can be overwhelming and without context it might be confusing. This app was recommended to me and it was perfect for tour. It walks you through the timeline and explains everything. Highly recommend.

### 1/5 — No service

*2025-09-13, version 3.3*

Don’t charge people if you know there is no signal in the area

### 1/5 — Wish I could get a refund!!

*2024-04-21, version 2.4*

This app was taking us everywhere but where we needed to be! Very frustrating!! Just use the NPS app…

### 1/5 — History for the lowest common denominator

*2023-11-22, version 2.4*

I wanted to hear about the actual battle and events that transpired that summer in 1863. Instead I heard a ranting of revisionist history and over generalizations, while driving to random places.
Give me stories of people in the battle, what they did, and what it was like, not how this fits into modern politics.

### 1/5 — Crashes

*2023-09-20, version 2.3*

We downloaded the app and used it for the four. When it worked, it was great. However, it crashed so many times! We spent more time pulled over to restart the app and find where we left off. So frustrating! $25 !?!? That’s the most I have ever spent on an app! I have the iPhone 14 and I did reboot several times as well as install and uninstall the app repeatedly….still no difference. Cannot recommend.

### 1/5 — Did not work

*2023-07-18, version 2.3*

It kept crashing my phone and didn’t work at all. The detours on the phone and app were different and after the wheatfield we just gave up as the tour was NOT working. I spent $25 to have all the tours and honestly won’t use or recommend this app again. It was so annoying and frustrating!

### 1/5 — Removed “God” from a quoted speech? Really?

*2022-10-04, version 2.01*

In a quote I would expect to hear what was actually said, unless it was stated otherwise, or if a deplorable word was used and no longer appropriate. So is the word God now deplorable and not appropriate to use or be said? In the current app version (9/2022) the Gettysburg Address, which my kids had memorized and was saying along with the recording while the Gettysburg Address was being quoted, removed the word God, and also removed it from the written form on the app. Really?

### 1/5 — App no longer working

*2022-06-24, version 2.01*

This was an awesome app when I purchased it but lately it crashes every time I try to open it. I tried to report the issue but can’t seem to find a way to get ahold of the developer. Hoping this review gets some attention.

### 1/5 — Audio Took out Under God

*2022-04-30, version 2.0*

Overall the tour was great. In fact I would give it 5 stars but the fact the pre recorded audio guide took out the words “under God” from the Gettysburg Address is such a blatant disregard for history and ignorance of God’s hand in the eventual victory of the Union at Gettysburg and the war itself. Please consider putting those 2 vital words back in one of the most important address ever given.

### 1/5 — Piece o’ crap

*2021-12-05, version 1.9*

Had to give one star because they don’t have negatives. This app showed me where I was and then never followed me wherever I was, even when standing in place. If you can remember the comments it gives until you get to the actual place, then it’s useful. The locations commented in were random. And the only way to stop it is to end it, wasting the purchase.
And forget about getting your money back.
Other than that, great product.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Enjoyable

*2026-05-14, version 3.6*

GPS worked seamlessly. Enjoyed getting the highlights and details.

### 5/5 — Great tour

*2026-05-08, version 3.6*

Easy to follow and great insight

### 5/5 — Highly recommend

*2026-02-19, version 3.6*

The most important driving history tour app you should absolutely get! We loved the the tour and will keep using it for future trips. Extremely easy to follow the driving directions and makes the experience way less daunting. I’ve been going to Gettysburg since 1990 and using this app with my tour made the experience 10x better than all previous trips.

### 5/5 — Excellent guide

*2025-12-06, version 3.4*

Ready to use. GPS guided so it knows where you are on the battlefield. Gives good information with just enough detail.

### 5/5 — The way to go

*2025-12-06, version 3.4*

When you have only a day to visit and can’t hire a professional guide, this is a wonderful alternative. Love the GPS tracking so it accurately guides you to key locations.

### 5/5 — Excellent adventure

*2025-10-11, version 3.4*

Easy to follow, wonderful narration, lots of information and stories. Perfect was to see Gettysburg.

### 5/5 — Did the audio tour of the battlefield?

*2025-10-04, version 3.4*

The app was outstanding as far as directing you around the battlefield and giving you information at each stop

### 5/5 — Super easy to use, makes it more fun to explore.

*2025-10-04, version 3.4*

It’s so well done and easy to take it at your own pace. We’ve done Gettysburg and Yorktown so far.

### 5/5 — Drive by

*2025-09-23, version 3.3*

We learned a lot of interesting facts we didn’t know before. It was well worth the money. I only live thirty minutes away and plan to go back and listen to your tours over and over again.

### 5/5 — Great audio tour

*2025-09-20, version 3.3*

A superior audio tour of the battles in the Gettysburg area! It really paints a picture of successes and failures that occurred before, during, and following those eventful days !
