### 4/5 — No CarPlay

*2021-08-24, version 1.1.0*

Works ok. The info was well presented. However the experience could be greatly improved if the app supported CarPlay integration.

### 4/5 — Works well

*2020-08-06, version 1.1.0*

We used this on a day when the visitor’s center was closed due to the Coronavirus (Tues & Weds). It worked well for the most part. It narrated based on our GPS and we used it via Bluetooth so everyone could hear. The only part that was very confusing was when heading towards stops 13 & 14, as you go through the visitors center parking area, it repeats the beginning narration. That made us think we made a wrong turn but eventually we saw on the app that was to be ignored. We didn’t figure where to go after those stops but it was late in the day and it was our fault I’m sure. I used this in an iPhone 11 so the X to close the videos was cut off at the top but if you know it’s there on the top right you could find it. Was worth the money and was informative. I’ll go back again some day & use it again and hopefully reach the end of the tour.

### 4/5 — Great app!

*2020-07-12, version 1.1.0*

This was a really great way to experience the route! The app automatically played at each stop making it super easy to use. It also gave you re-enactment videos at each stop on the route which got you into the experience. Highly recommend this!

### 4/5 — So Great (but out of date)

*2020-06-07, version 1.1.0*

This App is an amazing guide for touring Gettysburg! The content, audio narration and videos are superb!

My main gripe is it’s not designed for the full iPhone range. If you’ve got an iPhone with a notch at the top, you know the pain of an app that isn’t designed to adapt to the screen. The “close” x for videos is cut off at the top of the screen making it hard to close the videos. The UI over all is poor, with bits of the content not moving when scrolling through the text on screen. Come on folks, make this app worthy of the content you’re putting out!

### 3/5 — Don’t Use with an old phone

*2019-12-04, version 1.1.0*

The concept is so great. I used this on a solo trip to Gettysburg, which made the tour ideal and easy. However, I have an iPhone 5s. The app didn’t play automatically after like the first couple of stops. I visited a few months later and the app didn’t work at all on my phone, so we had to repurchase on someone’s newer iPhone. If you have an old phone, I wouldn’t bother buying it.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2019-10-18, version 1.0.7*

This a good add on if you’re going to do the auto tour on your own.

### 5/5 — Phenomenal!

*2019-10-18, version 1.0.7*

Quick download. Only $10. Worked flawlessly. Just turned on by visitors center and headed on auto route. The GPS worked great. Bluetooth connected fine as my phone always does. It talked right when it needed to. Even let me know not to miss turns.

It is NOT too in depth. But enough to keep it interesting and hit all the big points.

I'd estimate to go through at its pace and do a quick walk of each auto tour stop it would take about 2-3 hours. There is also a short nice video at each site that pulls up automatically.

Loved it. Great app.

A suggestion to maybe make an app to book a personal guide as the center is a headache. Like an uber for a tour guide. You set a price, pay online, pick him or her up wherever and go.

### 4/5 — Good, Basic Tour of the Battlefield

*2019-10-15, version 1.0.7*

Living in Gettysburg for 33 years, we’ve driven the battlefield many times. The only tour we’ve done was the double decker bus years ago. We are thinking of moving and I wanted to do a battlefield tour before that happens. The best way to see it is to hire a licensed battlefield guide through the visitor center. They go into great detail, are extremely knowledgeable, and know the battlefield like the back of their hand. From what I understand, the gentleman that is your “host” on the app is a licensed battlefield guide. We are not huge history buffs, and didn’t really learn anything new, but enjoyed the ride through the beautiful battlefield. It just never gets old. The app gives a good overview and the price is right!

### 5/5 — Great way to take a self tour

*2019-09-27, version 1.0.7*

Used this app last week during a 1 day trip to Gettysburg. Wanted to see the battlefield but there is so much to see and we weren’t sure where to start and how to make the most of our trip in a short time. We decided to take a chance on the app and are very pleased we did. The audio narrative of the sites we were seeing was really great and the ability to stop if we wanted to or not was a nice way to customize the tour. Would definitely recommend it!

### 5/5 — Great app!

*2019-09-01, version 1.0.7*

I had seen this app on a billboard the day before i went to pick my son from Harrisburg to have a family weekend together. I am not a fan of buying apps, but i read a few reviews that night and considered as a destination for the weekend. I couldn’t be more happy that someone has created this app. Guides you from start to finish through the area and provides information along the way with music and sounds that gets you deeply in connection with your surroundings. No need to even touch the app at any time as it automatically explain everything as you move. It even warned me that some videos may replay, as you have to go through some landmarks again to reach the others. Help me create a lifetime memory with family without any issues. The best $9.99 I have ever spent. Recommended.

### 5/5 — Gettysburg Auto

*2019-08-24, version 1.0.7*

Great app for the Auto Tour. GPS knew exactly where we were. Great information.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Nothing GPS about this app

*2020-12-28, version 1.1.0*

Not worth the $9.99. Thought this was going to guide us through the park and direct us via GPS but it did not. It does provide an audio tour.

### 1/5 — I’m asking for my money back

*2020-08-23, version 1.1.0*

I’m asking for my money back on this app. The premise is good, but they are are effectively no instructions on how to use it and I found myself going around in circles because on many intersections there were no instructions given as to which direction to take. It’s unfortunate, because frankly for maybe 10 or 15 hours of additional work this application would work very well and be easy to use, but I wasted at least two hours in backtracking because of the poor directions.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth does not work

*2020-08-08, version 1.1.0*

App will not play on our car. Would like a refund as we were not able to use it all.

### 1/5 — Just wouldn’t work

*2020-07-03, version 1.1.0*

We chose this app because of the good reviews. Unfortunately it quit working half way through and just wouldn’t play any of the recordings anymore. This happened several times and I finally gave up. We only got half way through the tour. I wish we had signed up for a guided tour. We would have learned soooo much more than the small amount of info provided by the first half of this tour.

### 1/5 — Frustration!!!

*2020-05-20, version 1.1.0*

This was the most frustrating app I have ever used! The interaction with the GPS was terrible! Rarely auto played any of the segments. The only time we really knew that we had to manually play the segments was when we were at suggested stops. IMHO it was a waste of $10! Don’t do it!!!

### 1/5 — No sound

*2020-05-03, version 1.1.0*

Paid for app but never got to use. Didn’t get any sound from videos. Removed app from phone and redownloaded three times with the same problem. Phone was properly synced. We ended up finding YouTube videos for each stop site. Waste of money.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2019-11-07, version 1.1.0*

App isnt worth the cost. Wouldnt sync up with gps and play when got near sites. Downloaded updates and still didnt work
Dont waste your time or money. Just use google maps and read the plaques at the sites

### 1/5 — Huge waste of money, didn’t work half the time

*2019-10-27, version 1.1.0*

I purchased this app after reading the positive reviews, and I was incredibly disappointed with it. I tried to use it today at Gettysburg and it didn’t work for over half the tour - the GPS tracking was poor, the audio wouldn’t play automatically even when it knew where I was, and the amount of info it provided was pitiful. Several of the audio tracks were 5+ min, but the explanation was only 20 seconds and the remainder of the time was just instrumental civil war-era music. No interesting stories, minimal detail at all of the tour stops, and the app didn’t even work half the time. Waste of money and time - if you want to avoid frustration, pick a different audio tour. Don’t ruin your experience at Gettysburg with a horrible audio tour

### 1/5 — Not Worth It

*2019-09-02, version 1.0.7*

I purchased the App after reading other reviews, in hopes of getting a well put together driving guide and experience. Far from it. Finding where the tour starts is confusing, and don’t ask for help from the Information Desk at the Visitor Center. The Ranger informed me that the App is made by a third party and, they don’t work with them. After finally finding the beginning, I thought the App worked by GPS and started at each Point if Interest, not for me. I had to manually start each recording, missing several Tour Stops and Points of Interest. The information provided is very general and minimal. We drove by several areas with no explanation as to what they were. I would have rather bought the Tour Guide Book with CD.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2019-08-14, version 1.0.7*

I read good reviews so I paid for the app i I only had a short while to be in Gettysburg and the App doesn’t work
When it did play after resetting my iPhone the content was severely lacking
I had done the park in the past using a audio tour on CD and the content was riveting and interactive. Much better then the app. Also we were turned around and off coarse with the app

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very informative, works well

*2021-07-18, version 1.1.0*

I was impressed with the details of information provided by the app. It also worked well with the gps on my phone, providing reminders of upcoming turns as well as info on the area we were driving through.

We didn't have enough time while on the drive to watch the videos provided for stops. I'm looking forward to watching them at home.

This is my second review. In the first I thought I could not watch the videos at home, but that was not true. I can't seem to modify that review.

### 5/5 — Well done, worth the money

*2020-10-25, version 1.1.0*

The narration is excellent, and the app does all the work for you, aside from actually drive. I was very pleased, and it’s a third the price of the official app. Even includes some music to set the tone between stops. No complaints.

### 5/5 — An excellent tour!!

*2020-06-03, version 1.1.0*

My family used the app for a tour this past weekend while many aspects of the park are still closed from COVID, and we were so pleased with the amount of information and the length of the tour. We did all the stops, both recommended and optional, getting out to read signs and walk through everything, and it took us over four hours. It felt so thorough and worked perfectly, playing everything automatically based on the GPS tracking. We are so grateful this app was able to give us a top notch Gettysburg experience, even while many things were closed.

### 5/5 — The future of history tours

*2020-05-31, version 1.1.0*

This was so cool! I appreciated that the app followed our location and we didn’t really have to touch anything! I really recommend.

### 5/5 — Great tour to get a family out during Covid

*2020-03-30, version 1.1.0*

A perfect outing for my preteens/teens to get out without any human contact door to door. And they learned something new!

### 5/5 — Best GPS Tour of Gettysburg!

*2020-03-22, version 1.1.0*

We loved every second! 5/5!!!

### 5/5 — Worth it!

*2020-02-23, version 1.1.0*

I don’t think I’ve ever paid for an app. I’m cheap like that. We went to Gettysburg on a whim and had no idea what we were doing. I found this app and I’m so glad!! We started at the visitors center(I collect things from NPS) and headed out. The GPS kept up with us the entire time. It was spot on with the auto tour markers. Like others mentioned above, the “optional” and “recommended” stops were close to other points of interest, so it didn’t get to finish sharing info before warning us of an upcoming stop. So go slow, pull off, take your time. I wouldn’t even consider it a flaw, just head the warning so you don’t miss things. You can open the app and listen to everything at your own pace later on. I plan to go through and look up the locations they pointed out at a later time. Thanks for this wonderful and very affordable tool!

### 5/5 — Very informational!

*2019-12-31, version 1.1.0*

We came to town for NYE and decided to do the tour with our family. We have all been to Gettysburg several times so thought we would fly through the tour...wasn’t the case at all! We all learned something new and went to parts of the park we haven’t been. All 8 of us give it 5 stars! It took us some time to get started, but we’ll worth it!!

### 5/5 — Great app, perfect for a quick audio tour of the park.

*2019-12-05, version 1.1.0*

I was slightly skeptical because of some of the negative reviews, but not having used the app I think they were mostly people that just didn’t know how to use Bluetooth on their phones or just anything on their phones in general. App worked great for me. It’s not the most polished app, but it does what it advertises. There were a few times when it started an audio segment before the previous one ended or maybe started one that wasn’t on my route, but mostly every segment started right on time and without any intervention on my part. It’s fairly easy to just pull over and restart the segment you may have missed. We were looking for a quick and easy way to take a tour of the park as we were passing through and didn’t really have time for the museum, and this was perfect.

### 5/5 — Totally worth the money

*2019-12-02, version 1.1.0*

We used this app for the tour of the battlefield and town. It was great and worked perfectly. Totally worth the $10! I would caution you to bring a charger for your phone. Between the gps and the tour it really drained my battery.
