## What is Ghost Light?

Every actor knows the night before. The audition is Thursday, you need two minutes that fit, and
you are scrolling the same forty speeches everyone else will bring into the room.

Ghost Light is built for that night.

SEARCH THE WAY YOU ACTUALLY THINK

Type "a grieving mother." Type "something funny that isn't Neil Simon." Ghost Light understands
what you mean, not just the words you typed, and surfaces stage monologues that match the feeling.
No keyword guessing. No browsing forty pages of Shakespeare to find the one speech that fits.

(Real semantic search, not word matching.)

KNOW WHAT'S OVERDONE

Every monologue carries a freshness score. Filter for hidden gems and walk in with something the
panel has not already heard four times that morning. No other monologue app tells you this.

FILTER FOR THE ROOM YOU'RE WALKING INTO

Age range and gender. Under one, two, or three minutes. Tone: comedic, dramatic, dark, defiant,
anguished, contemplative. Emotion: anger, longing, grief, fear, joy, despair, resolve.

STAGE AND SCREEN, ONE LIBRARY

19,000+ monologues from 2,100+ plays, classical and contemporary. Plus 5,000+ speeches from films and TV shows, browsable by poster, character, and length. Shakespeare and Chekhov in the same place as the screen work you actually watch.

YOUR BOOK, ALWAYS WITH YOU

Save what you love and it's there next time, on any device you sign in on. Being subscribed keeps your saved pieces readable offline, so your book still opens in the basement hallway outside the audition room where there's no signal.

BUILT FOR ACTORS, NOT FOR SPREADSHEETS

A ghost light is the single bulb left burning on an empty stage overnight, so the theatre is never
fully dark. This app is named for it. Warm, quiet, made for reading in the dark before you go in.

FREE AND PREMIUM

Search the full catalog and read three monologues in full for free. Ghost Light Premium unlocks
unlimited reading, tone and emotion and freshness filters, offline access, and copy to clipboard.
Try it free for 7 days.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.0.3 — 2026-09-18

A new look, drawn like a theatre.

- The whole app is redesigned: paper sides on a dark stage, one warm light, stage directions in the margins.
- Search opens on a single question and asks it differently each time you come back.
- Results are now printed pages, with a freshness mark on every piece so you know what the panel has already heard.
- Film and TV pieces show their posters, on their own violet shelf.
- Reading is easier on the eyes in a dark hallway, and your book lists what you have kept with a clear offline mark.
- Smaller things: smoother transitions between search and results, a gentler paywall, and fewer taps to sign in.

Built by a working actor, for the night before.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-09-08

Your saved pieces and your free reads now stay with you properly, even if you reinstall.

A new app icon, drawn from the ghost light itself.

The lamp on the search screen is calmer, so the search field sits where your thumb expects it.

Faster, quieter loading when you open a speech: the page now shows you it is coming instead of a blank sheet.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-09-03

Signing in with an email address is clearer, and you can now reset a forgotten password. Film & TV browsing is faster. The launch screen holds its quote until you're ready.

### 1.0 — 2026-09-03

No release notes.
