## What is Ghostlane?

Ghostlane carries your traffic inside a video call.

Most tunnels are recognisable. On a network that inspects what passes through it
and drops anything shaped like a VPN, they stop working — not because the
encryption failed, but because the shape of the connection gave it away.

olcRTC is a different answer. It opens a WebRTC media session to a public
meeting service — the same kind of call the network already carries all day —
and moves your traffic inside it. What stays on the wire is a video call.

ROOMS, AND HOW FULL THEY ARE

An olcRTC relay holds a fixed number of slots, and a full room cannot take you.
So the app asks each room how full it is and shows that in the list, before you
pick one. It is the sort of thing you only need when the thing you are
connecting to has rooms.

IT ALSO SPEAKS THE ORDINARY PROTOCOLS

A call-shaped tunnel costs bandwidth, and it is not needed until it is. The same
app connects over the standard transports too, and you move between them as the
network around you changes:

• VLESS with Reality
• VLESS over TLS, including through a CDN
• Hysteria2, with Salamander obfuscation
• XHTTP

One app, because the moment you need the fallback is the worst possible moment
to be installing another one.

BRINGING YOUR OWN SERVERS

Add a server list by pasting its link, scanning its QR code, or importing a
file. The app groups servers by where they came from, filters them by protocol,
remembers which exit you last used, and refreshes the list on a schedule you
choose.

Connecting routes the whole device through the exit you picked, using Apple's
own packet tunnel. The status screen shows how long the session has been up and
how much has gone through it.

MEASURING

Latency is measured where it can honestly be measured: through the tunnel for
the connection you are on, and by ICMP echo for a server you are not connected
to. Where neither is possible the app says so instead of showing a number it
guessed.

PRIVACY

Nothing is collected. No account, no analytics, no advertising identifier, no
crash reporting service. Your server lists and the app's own log stay on the
device and are never sent anywhere.

The app talks to exactly two kinds of address: the server-list URL you added,
and the VPN servers in it. The one exception is a partner link that has to be
resolved into a server-list URL, and that request carries the link and nothing
about you.

REQUIREMENTS

A server configuration from a VPN provider: a server-list URL, a QR code, or a
pasted link. The app does not sell one and does not include one. Any provider
that speaks the protocols above will work.

### 5/5 — Хороший клиент для olcrtc

*2026-09-20*

Olcrtc работает 👍 других клиентов под этот протокол не нашел в AppStore

### 3/5 — Всё еще «no route to host»

Остальные протоколы работают как надо, но не olcrtc

### 5/5 — Давно пора

Очень не хватало такого приложения. Интерфейс конечно перегружен, на 6 айфоне ели как хватает места. Лучше сделать минимализм. Как например Streisand

## Frequently asked questions about Ghostlane

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.0.443 — 2026-09-28

Ghostlane is now available in Russian, Chinese and Persian, and follows your iPhone's language.

Mobile data: on carriers that keep several cellular connections open, the app could send its traffic through one of the carrier's service connections, and every server failed to connect while Wi-Fi worked. It now uses the connection iOS itself uses for the internet.

olcRTC rooms
• Support for rooms on a third meeting service, tuned to stay up through long downloads and uploads on slow connections.
• When a meeting service drops the connection, the tunnel comes back in seconds instead of minutes.
• Reconnecting after a network change no longer stalls on servers that offer rooms on several meeting services.
• Jitsi rooms: self-hosted servers connect more reliably, transfers no longer stall, and a network change no longer ends the connection.
• Bursts of new connections, such as a page full of images, no longer go missing, and large downloads through a busy room no longer break.
• Joining a room over mobile data no longer gives up after five seconds.

Connections
• Hysteria2 on networks that drop UDP: if the connection is up but carries no traffic, the app switches to the same server over Reality, gRPC or XHTTP when your list offers one, and tells you.
• More server types import and connect: Trojan, Shadowsocks (including Shadowsocks 2022) and VMess, and VLESS over gRPC, WebSocket or HTTP upgrade.
• Each server list now starts with a "Lowest latency" entry: choose it, and the app connects to the fastest server in the list. It replaces the "Lowest at connect" switch in settings.

Server lists
• A list can name a backup address for when its usual one does not answer, and the app follows a list that has moved. Both work over HTTPS only.
• ghostlane:// links open in the app.
• Refreshing a list no longer drops a server that shares its name with another.

Privacy and diagnostics
• For XHTTP connections, the proxy the app runs inside the tunnel now requires a login only Ghostlane knows, so other apps on the device cannot use it.
• Optional detailed debug logs for problem reports: off by default, and exported logs hide addresses and credentials.

### 1.0.435 — 2026-09-25

The app is now Ghostlane. Same app, same code, a new name and a new icon.

Your server lists, settings and the connection you are on carry over untouched. The VPN profile in Settings is renamed with the app.

### 1.0.429 — 2026-09-17

This release is about staying connected.

• The connection no longer drops during large downloads or speed tests.
• Pages load as soon as a location connects. Before, a location could connect and then carry nothing at all.
• Switching to another location now always works. A location that had stopped responding could block every later attempt until the app was restarted.
• A connection that has quietly stopped carrying traffic is now noticed and rebuilt, instead of showing as connected while nothing loads.
• Fewer failed connection attempts on mobile networks.
• When a location's server does not answer, the app says that, and what to try, instead of suggesting an update that would not have helped.

### 1.0.397 — 2026-09-12

What's New in 1.0.397

• olcRTC rooms run on an updated engine with a new connection protocol. Rooms served by ProofKit have already moved to it; this update is required to keep using them.
• Voice and video calls, and online games, now travel through the room tunnel as well — fewer dropped calls on mobile networks.
• Switching between Wi‑Fi and cellular no longer breaks a connected room: the app re-points its DNS and reconnects on its own.
• Clearer messages when a room cannot connect — an outdated server, a key that is no longer valid, or an empty room are now named as such.
• Server lists refresh faster and keep working when your provider's own DNS is the only one that answers.
• Stability fixes for long transfers through rooms hosted on Jitsi.

### 1.0.393 — 2026-09-11

• New routing choice in Settings → Routing. "Bypass Russia" sends Russian sites, .ru domains and your local network straight out while everything else stays in the tunnel. "All traffic through the tunnel" remains the default and works exactly as before.
• Faster browsing through olcRTC rooms: name lookups no longer wait on the relay, so pages start loading in seconds rather than tens of seconds.
• Changing the routing choice while connected reconnects automatically.
• Exported logs now include tunnel diagnostics, which makes your bug reports much easier to act on.
