Use your mobile phone to scan as you shop with Mobile Shopper from Giant Eagle. Currently available at the Waterworks Market District Download the app 1. Connect to the Giant-Eagle-Guest Wi-Fi network in a participating store. 2. Scan your Advantage Card. We require permission to use the camera on your phone to scan your purchases as you shop. 3. Scan the barcode on each item as you place it in your cart or enter the PLU code on weighed items. 4. If you have weighted items, use the Scale Station in Produce or Bulk Items or go to the checkout lane and weigh your items on the scale. 5. I used to spend quite a bit of money in the Carmel, Indiana store, but I have stopped for two reasons. First, I am unable to scan barcodes and second, scan and go go is not available until after 8 am. I will bring my business back there when these two issues are no longer an issue for me. ### 2/5 — Please fix the camera focus issue *2026-05-18, version 1.4* I love the ability to use scan, pay, and go. It’s one of the reasons that I shop at Giant Eagle. The camera focus used to work; please, please fix it. ### 1/5 — What happened to this app? *2026-05-11, version 1.4* Like everyone else has mentioned I can’t scan the barcodes. Even if I manually put in the UPC numbers (a complete pain!) there’s a really good chance I wont be able to check out. There are so many stores that are doing this right. My card has been locked but can’t change the pin because of the log in issue. ### 2/5 — Camera Focus Broken *2026-04-07, version 1.4* App used to work. After an update, for several months now, the app lost its ability to ‘tap on the screen to focus’ while attempting to scan a barcode. It used to work just like taking a picture, where you could tap and it would bring the barcode into focus. now the app has 0 ability to refocus. so if you aren’t holding the item barcode at some unknown perfect distance when first clicking to scan, it will never scan. you have to back out of the attempt and try again - often taking several attempts to scan the item. It used to be possible to tap to focus - and other working scan pay go apps (like sam’s club) handle this fine. Not sure where giant eagle is putting their giant profits - but it’s certainly not in improving the shopping experience. this app is completely overlooked - no wonder most people use the scan guns. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-03-25, version 1.4* This hasn’t worked in the store while connected to WiFi for months ### 1/5 — Does not work *2026-03-23, version 1.4* Update: 4 months later and the app still does not work. Unacceptable. If it’s not supported take it down from the App Store. Does not work with iOS 26.3.1 ### 1/5 — Used to be great *2026-02-25, version 1.4* I used to use this app all the time it was great but over the last few months it hasn’t been. It takes forever to load and the scanning of the barcode is blurry and 9 out of 10 times doesn’t scan. It’s frustrating. I just started shopping at Meiers since their app works and is so much more advanced. ### 2/5 — Wish better *2026-02-21, version 1.4* You have to go back and after each scan to " catch" the barcode.
