This feels less about recurring events (mother’s day, christmas, etc) and more about one-off hosted events like a birthday party. This is far less useful this way in my opinion, so I will look for something else. ### 3/5 — Still a few issues *2021-04-17, version 1.6* This is a great app conceptually, but when I got it and went to input data there were a couple things I didn’t like. First, I really HATE that you have to create an account. I’ve used another Christmas gift app fir years and didn’t have to do that. It makes me feel like they want to track what I’m looking at so they can sell my info for targeted ads. That may not be the case but certainly is my impression, so I don’t like that. I cam get over that though if the app functionality was exactly what I had in mind. I like it for the most part but the biggest issue is the inability to Mark something as a gift idea and the inability to associate gifts with specific dates/holidays. The gifts organize in an alphabetical list - one long list - that includes gifts given abd received by any given contact. For me, since I gift the same people over and over, this list will get cumbersome quickly. I always used to write them on a bit of nearby paper waiting to ‘upload’ to my master spreadsheet. With this app i can log and go. After each entry, a commercial pops up on your screen, and you have to watch it to proceed to the next entry. Original review: There is hope for this app but it’s cumbersome, crashes, doesn’t auto save, slow etc. I tried it for Christmas but I don’t know if I’ll continue using it. Just didn’t make things much easier. I would love to give further feedback to the developer. ### 1/5 — Can’t get it to work *2020-09-07, version 1.6* Downloaded and signed up but can’t get it to work, each time I try to sign in it just whirls. I’ve attempted to sign in via email&password and via Facebook but still nothing! ### 1/5 — Nur mit Registrierung *2020-08-21* Als erstes wird man aufgefordert, sich zu registrieren, per Mail, Facebook oder Google. „Register Account“ steht auch noch da. Nur mit Internetverbindung zu nutzen; denn die Daten werden in der Cloud gespeichert. Schade, gelöscht. Um meine gegebenen und erhaltenen Gaben zu managen, wird sich etwas passenderes finden. **Developer response:** Es muss ein Konto erstellt werden, damit Ihre Geschenkdaten sicher im Cloud-basierten Speicher gespeichert und von niemand anderem angezeigt werden können. Dies ist so wertvoll, dass auf Ihrem Telefon kein Speicherplatz verwendet wird und Sie sich von jedem Gerät aus anmelden können. Für die meisten Apps sind Konten erforderlich, die zum Speichern von Daten erstellt wurden. Andernfalls können diese nicht gesichert oder abgerufen werden, wenn das Telefon geändert wird oder verloren geht. Vielen Dank für Ihre Bewertung. ### 1/5 — Gift Log App Useless = Won’t Launch *2019-07-16, version 1.3* I was really excited about this App, but HUGELY disappointed in the execution because it just WON’T LAUNCH, giving an error message that is impossible to decipher. Sent an e-mail to the developer, but no response and still no fix. Tried deleting App and reinstalling, but still same stupid error message. Useless. Don’t bother with this one. ### 1/5 — Contact import doesn’t import birthdays *2018-12-22, version 1.3* I imported contacts only to find out birthdays don’t import. I have a gift app that’s over 10 years old that had that basic capability. ### 1/5 — Run away. You’re signing your life to them. *2018-04-26* They will take your detailed info and everything they can get from you. And will disclose it to their buyers subsidiaries.... **Developer response:** Thank you for your review. We do not require any detailed info to use GiftLog and we do not have any subsidiaries that we pass any information on to. GiftLog is free to use with no-in app purchases so no payment, billing or address data is required. The only information we require is authentication for the app, like many others, via email address, Facebook or Google. Your password is secure and encrypted therefore only you can access your data. We are unable to see any content you enter within the app, be it gift, event or contact information as it is securely saved on cloud-based storage in your account that's created when you log in to GiftLog for the first time. Data and privacy are paramount to us. Please refer to our Privacy Policy and feel free to contact us if you have any further queries: support@giftlog.co.uk ### 2/5 — So slow and unresponsive *2025-08-12, version 1.8.1* Tried for ages this morning to use the app and log some gifts, the problem is you have to add a contact to each gift logged (??) which is annoying since it is just for my own reference, not to thank anyone through the app. However it just freezes for ages when you try to add a contact, or blanks out the confirmed “tick” with the word “cancel” so it’s near enough impossible! ### 2/5 — Full of ads and keeps crashing *2024-03-23, version 1.8.1* The app is full of advertising and keeps crashing after watching the advertisements. ### 2/5 — Unable to add contacts from phone *2023-12-25, version 1.8.1* The feature is broken.
