### 2/5 — Wish this were a better app

*2022-07-29, version 1.13*

I really want to like this app but it is just way too buggy for me to recommend. Error messages pop up way too often and swiping tends to have some lag that forces me to quit and restart the app. Plus, it keeps showing me people who are way too far away from me to have meaningful interaction with. I’m assuming this is the result of a small user base. The app just feels way too bloated with too many categories especially since it doesn’t seem like it has a ton of active users in the first place. I feel like it could use some trimming down. As it stands though, I find it really unusable which is a shame.

### 2/5 — Fantastic AI

*2022-07-26, version 1.13*

I’m a trans woman, and was immediately approved for access after downloading. Thanks for building such an inclusive app!

Discussions on the app are about 5-10 power users commenting on everything/posting everything. The app crashed 4 times in the span of my first 15 minutes browsing it, and there’s obvious issues with the facial AI. Good luck picking up a gender critical mass of users to launch a new social network!

### 3/5 — Terrible UI

*2022-07-07, version 1.13*

I like the idea. Every other app that caters exclusively to women eventually gets turned into something different.

But the UI is terrible. Tinder is successful because the UI is simple: See something you like, swipe right. See something you don’t like: Swipe left. Do you want to see your profile? Click the pencil.

It took several minutes to locate the option to edit my own profile, and I found it by accident. I like to see what my profile looks like to others, but that option doesn’t seem to exist.

These are relatively small fixe that can make a user’s experience better.

### 4/5 — Don’t believe the lies!

*2022-01-31, version 1.13*

So my review is actually two part:

1. For those who are saying that the app is racist and that it will reject you if you are not white or of European descent, this is flat out false. I am black, and not light-skinned black either. I am a big, beautiful, chocolate-brown, natural haired woman and didn’t have ANY problems whatsoever with creating my profile and bio and started looking for other like-minded women. So for those who said that they “heard” that you can’t even get into the app if you are not white, maybe try it for yourself instead of listening to and spreading lies. And please make sure that your lighting is good. You can’t expect it to work if you’re sitting in a dark room.

2. Now that that is out of the way… as for the app itself, I feel that it could use a little work. It isn’t as user friendly as I personally would like to see, but I am also still new to this app and learning. Once creating my profile, I had a bit of trouble trying to figure out how to get back to it to make edits. I did eventually figure it out, but it just did not seem very intuitive. I also do not care too much for needing to create multiple profiles depending on your interest. I have a lot of interests just like many others, and it would be nice just to have ONE profile, but then have the ability to select multiple interests.

Anyway, that’s my two cents for what it is. Give it a chance to see if it is something you like. You might just meet your BFF! :-)

### 5/5 — Wonderful and much needed platform!

*2022-01-28, version 1.13*

This is a great way to connect women with other women for networking, social contacts and just some great shared knowledge that only women can provide each other with. It has so many possibilities and I love how it’s taken measures to keep us safe. Love this!

### 5/5 — Great place for women!

*2022-01-28, version 1.13*

In general I am excited to have a female only place. I remember as a teen having that but it’s been a long time since. Being able to connect with other women about female only health issues, making friends and discussing a wide range of topics.

Pros: yay! Only open to females. There are plenty of other places where trans identified people can connect to women.

Cons: needs some fine tuning as far as user ease, also like many other apps there are limitations if you don’t want to purchase in app.

### 4/5 — Some UX problems / careful of cancel culture

*2022-01-28, version 1.13*

Look at the other comments. Funny that the trans community admit to never hearing about this, download the app to see the facial recognition doesn’t work, and review bomb it. It’s cancel culture in full force because some people are just pathetic and unhappy people. I downloaded this for my wife to try and we are putting it on her phone because she it’s a good app for someone who is into the mom groups like she is. Four stars until they fix the icon resemblance issues, but I’m sure she will give it 5

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2022-01-28, version 1.13*

This is actually a really nice app, it’s an open space that allows women to talk to women. All of these low reviews are by men pretending to be women and they have other apps for them. This is specifically for only born women. I’m an African American woman and am relatively more masculine and have no issue with the facial recognition.

### 5/5 — Misogyny is Alive and Well

*2022-01-27, version 1.13*

It seems the only people that are upset by this app are men who appear to believe that the fantasy land of the mentally ill is more important than a safe place for women. Because women are second-class citizens, not deserving of their own spaces, it is wrong that they would make such a demand, according to these tender souls. Here’s a clue: Female is not a suit that one may simply don at will. Mutilated men are not women. To state otherwise is to admire the naked emperor’s clothing.

### 5/5 — I'm a black woman and was immediately approved.

*2022-01-27, version 1.13*

The app refreshed and welcomed me. I'm not feeling well, but I smiled and took my pic—instant access. So the featured review is rubbish, and I doubt the reviewer “heard” the app rejects black women. The TRA (trans rights activists) routinely insult black women, claiming we're excluded from womanhood just like males who like pink or wear dresses are--No, black women are not excluded from womanhood. Then the TRAs accuse anyone who knows the difference between male and female of racism. Maybe I'll like the app, but I just wanted to check the facial recognition claims. Kudos to the creator for standing up for women.

### 3/5 — Trans and still got in 🤷

*2022-01-26, version 1.13*

Facial recognition models will always be poor determinants of gender assigned at birth due to their poor testing data. Also the app author is using canned models, which aren’t looking for gender assigned at birth but reported sex, which likely mean it’s supposed to allowlist trans people even if they do have “trans features” (what these are isn’t defined) In addition this probably violates App Store guidelines and developer agreements about anti discrimination

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Horrible

*2023-02-01, version 1.13*

They insist the app is only for women. Then call everyone “girls” and block people who they arbitrarily decide aren’t female. With ZERO ability to contest it. Disgusting. This is not OK. This is horrific.

Editing to add that the app ceo brags on Twitter about how she can “effortlessly tell the biological sex” of anyone, and that if someone “violates their terms and conditions” (by not appearing feminine enough, I assume) she personally deletes and blocks the person from the app.

That’s what happened to me.
I passed the selfie AI test, and about 45 minutes into using the app I suddenly was unable to use it at all. Every attempt to log in was answered with a failure message.

I am not trans. I am a cis woman. But I guess I’m too ugly for this app.

Extremely insulting, at the very least. And when I began to discuss this with the ceo on Twitter she called me a troll and blocked me.

She claims she can “always tell”
This is blatant discrimination.

This app should not be allowed on Apple at all.

### 1/5 — Can’t even use the app!

*2023-01-09, version 1.13*

I downloaded the app, and when it came to verify my phone number, I resent out the request several times nothing. So a few days later I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and try it again absolutely nothing please do not waste your time with this app. It’s a piece of crap! apparently what people are saying about the app is true because the developers have obviously made it so you can’t even verify your phone number to get on the app.

### 1/5 — This is a cult

*2023-01-05, version 1.13*

Don’t let the good reviews fool you. This is a fake feminist app. In truth, this app is just a space where TERFs can gather and hate on people. They are racist, sexist, transphobic and bigoted. They want to imprison socialists and establish a satanic fascist government. And on top of it all, they are paedophiles. I am dead serious. These TERFs will stop at nothing to devour the flesh of stillborn children. They are crazy wicked evil, and they are aroused by the suffering of humanity. They don’t care about women’s rights, or even human rights. All they care about is the destruction of mankind. Listen to the song “Blasphemian” by Infant Annihilator and then look up the lyrics. Those lyrics are a perfect representation of who the TERFs really are. But while they may be evil, they cannot stand against us when we have the power of love and Jesus on our side. Do not let the TERFs poison you mind, leading you astray from live real and progressive ideas.

### 1/5 — Cis woman here… you guys are weird

*2023-01-05, version 1.13*

Cis means I was born a girl and I’m still a woman (so what you all of you view as “true female”) and I still HATE this app. The user base will dismiss any opposition as “male”. This is why people don’t take us seriously. You’re all crying wolf while upholding the patriarchy and outdated ideas of “what it means to be a woman”. Being a woman to me goes far beyond having a vagina but congrats to you for dumbing down our experience and continuing to oppress. Garbage people, garbage app. I support women's rights not women's WRONGS. And you all are WRONG.

### 1/5 — Kinda funny kinda weird

*2022-06-16, version 1.13*

They use AI to track whether or not you’re female and can make an account, I wanted to test the strength of this. I’m a trans man and it wouldn’t let me join even though I was assigned female at birth and my cis mother who was born a girl and still female couldn’t join either (and we actually look nothing alike, like she has long straight blonde hair softer face etc where as I have very short hair and facial hair etc) just very peculiar how gender affirming it’s been for trans people despite the intent being to discriminate against trans women and how weirdly dehumanizing and judgmental it is towards cis women. That is all.

### 1/5 — Definitely an app to AVOID!! Transphobic, for really old people app - waste of time

*2022-03-01, version 1.13*

I have seen a lot of good apps and bad apps in my time, but this one really takes the cake. The creator of this app is very transphobic and excludes the transgender community. There isn’t really anything fun to do on this app anyway, and it seems to mostly just be for really really old people and religious nuts. This app definitely it’s not worth wasting any of your life trying to use.....pretty boring and doesn’t appeal to millennials or Gen Zers @ all

### 1/5 — Loading Issues

*2022-01-31, version 1.13*

I wish people didn’t crowd the comments with transphobia claims cause this app could use some helpful critiques instead of focusing on men like every other app already does. I like the concept a lot, since there really isn’t much in terms of women-only spaces (thanks to aforementioned people). But I’m having issues loading any Giggles. I also thought this app would be forum-based and not a Tinder lite.
Update: I cannot even log back in because the app says it is in a format it cannot read. Thanks for collecting my data without me being able to adjust or delete it.

### 1/5 — Neither me nor my mother were accepted!

*2022-01-29, version 1.13*

This things facial recognition fails to recognize women and demands that we not wear our glasses while taking the photo! Unfortunately some of us can’t see far enough without our glasses for our phone to take an accurate picture of anything more than our foreheads! Some of us are basically blind without our glasses. So on top of the failure to recognize women as women, the ableism set forth by this excessive elitism is horrifying! I didn’t want to be a part of your snobby club in the first place I was just curious about how exclusive the facial recognition made this and clearly it’s exclusive enough to deny even women from joining.

### 1/5 — Facial Recognition Not Working

*2022-01-29, version 1.13*

(Visibly) trans woman here, got in first try. If they want to keep us out they aren’t succeeding. Not that I would actually want to use an app that is “cis only.” This app will not succeed unless it is inclusive of all women—trans women, women of color, women with less feminine appearances, etc. For now, its policies are much too divisive—biased facial recognition software, explicit trans-exclusion, elitist requirements for getting a profile verified, just to name a few. Also, cis women do not have a monopoly on suffering and adversity. Do a search for “office for victims of crime-transgender victims,” and “trans homelessness.” Read up a little. Then we can talk about privilege.

### 1/5 — Comprehensibly Terrible

*2022-01-26, version 1.13*

Without even speaking to the ideological implications of this app, it is terrible. If I were associated with it I would be ashamed. Bugs and glitches abound from user interface down to the core of the app. It freezes, brings up random, confusing error messages, and more. But beyond that, the fundamental concept for the onboarding and sign-up process is just embarrassing. Machine learning for vetting is a dunce’s idea of a good system. Don’t expect to be able to use this app if you are not white with conventionally attractive features. At least, not without gaming the system. But then, why would you want to?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — 5 for Sall’s strength to face the mob

*2023-03-09*

In short, the app is a great concept. In practice, it’s buggy to the point of not working. I don’t know what goes on behind the scenes when making an app, but if Giggle just needs more money in order to hire someone quality developers, I wish a campaign could be launched to do that. Women need this service- services cost money. No one works for free, and a lot of work needs to go into this.

### 5/5 — Most negative reviews are from men lol

*2022-05-08, version 1.13*

If you take the time to read through the reviews you’ll find it’s mostly men whining because they can’t get in. Ha! The app is a little confusing but it’s so wonderful to have a space like this just for women!

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2022-04-20, version 1.13*

This space is exclusively available to women and girls. There is a range of ages on the app which is always growing. There is so much to do and so many different ways to connect on this app. The developers are always issuing updates to improve the experience. And you don’t have to worry that your speaking to anyone who isn't female because of the apps facial analysis!

### 5/5 — It’s not racist.

*2022-04-15, version 1.13*

I am a woman of color and the app let me in right away. I had just woken up and hadn’t put a single bit of make up on, nor did I do my hair when I signed up. IRL I have been mistaken as mtf because I’m not “conventionally attractive” and have large rough hands. The AI is better at discerning gender than most people.

### 5/5 — women are allowed to set boundaries

*2022-03-18, version 1.13*

It’s wonderful that in the male-dominated space that is still the internet at large, there’s an app that allows for female-only space. As you can tell by the negative reviews, males get VERY upset when women set boundaries like this one—their hysterical outcry in response to the slightest exclusion is a great example of why women NEED spaces of our own. Bravo Giggle.

### 5/5 — 5 star for balance. detailed review!

*2022-03-03, version 1.13*

heard about this app via twitter and decided to download. to address the eurocentric concerns: i’m a brown woman w/ dark hair, was wearing no makeup and have facial hair when i took my selfie. was verified almost immediately!

the app basically functions like tinder w/ the swipe mechanic? i thought it was going to be more like a forum system which i prefer. i deleted because i don’t have the time to swipe on people and chat up.

i would prefer if the language used on the app was women rather than girls which feels infantilizing especially since you have to be at least 16 (?) to use the app.

overall i could see this being useful for any GC or radfem women who want to date or
make friends!

### 5/5 — Great Safe Space for Women!

*2022-03-03, version 1.13*

It seems like the negative comments are lies and from men trying to get into this app and not being able to. On a side note, Love that I’m able to connect with other women also struggling with perimenopause. By the way I’m a brown woman who has zero issues getting into this app.

### 5/5 — Amazing!

*2022-02-04, version 1.13*

I wish i didn’t need to pay for features, that’s the one thing I don’t like. Idk how people are getting turned down? I’m a regular girl with a kinda masculine face and didn’t have a problem

### 5/5 — Sorry, men 🤷🏻‍♀️

*2022-02-03, version 1.13*

I love this app for the very reason that it allows real women to connect. Feminism has lost its way and is allowing men to infiltrate our ideology in so many different ways. I’m SO glad someone finally had the sense to create an online space specifically for women with the intent to exclude men. WOMEN DESERVE THEIR OWN SPACES.

### 5/5 — A sad day

*2022-02-01, version 1.13*

How do we live in a world where men get on this site & trash it? The creator wanted a space for woman - who have had to fight hard for our voice - and now men want to invade this too. Make an app for the trans community & don’t hate those who are not inclusive. Why do we act like we are ALL inclusive? I’ve seen Christian’s, Muslims & others not included. Inclusivity in every place & every world is not a reality. For this start up app, shame on you who are offended. Let women be already.
