I don’t remember what my password is so I went to reset it. Didn’t work. Okay I changed it again. Still can’t sign in. Well I guess that’s it. ### 2/5 — Glitchy *2026-06-19, version 1.1.31* Very glitchy. My reports get lost when I press “submit” after long hourse of answering questionnaires. ### 3/5 — App needs work *2026-05-05, version 1.1.31* I always get paid but the website works better than the app. App is trash ### 3/5 — A little buggy but decent *2026-02-04, version 1.1.30* Update… the latest update introduced a bug where you can’t see the job board or your account info. Messaged them a couple days ago but haven’t heard back. Not sure why, but they often use red text and blue text to try to highlight text but it’s impossible to read because it’s on a grey background! Sometimes task have to be done at a specific time but they don’t always make it obvious (some task they do… but not all). Sometimes jobs don’t save. Sometimes the app will freeze as you’re switching apps to check details and you need to restart the task. But overall the tasks are fairly well explained. If you like stressful work for less than minimum wage then this is the app for you! If they have a problem with what you submit they will let you correct it as opposed to rejecting the task. ### 1/5 — . *2025-08-13, version 1.1.28* Why is the app so slow? ### 1/5 — Super Unprofessional *2025-08-05* This app is so bad, I’m going to delete it! You can’t get to the jobs page without first tapping on another option and then going back, it won’t load if you simply choose the jobs section. If by chance you get a response to a job you applied to, once you complete the task it takes several weeks to get paid and a lot of them only do PayPal, so if you want direct deposit or some other form of payment you’re out of luck. I say if by chance you are selected for a job because a lot of the time you apply for a job and never hear back one way or the other! Super rude, inconsiderate and unprofessional. You plan your day around doing an assignment and they rudely never respond! Even when you write an email to them (because of course there’s no way to call) your email(s) even more than one are ignored. Also, there is virtually no way to see what jobs you’ve applied to or check on your status. Like another user commented, it seems like a platform from the 00’s. It’s pretty much completely useless. ### 2/5 — Submitting survey corrections *2025-07-15, version 1.1.28* It would be alot more helpful when requested to correct a shop survey that you tell us exactly what needs to be corrected ### 3/5 — Great if it was ten years older. *2025-07-11, version 1.1.28* This app, while good overall, is badly in need of update. Opening any of the shops is very slow and it’s been this way for years now. Anything you select takes way too long to open and that includes going back to the page you were just on. It also has some odd “features” like not being able to add more pictures from your phone after you first start a shop report, which considering the amount needed for many reports often means having to use my pc to finish if I miss any by accident/mistake. Otherwise the layout is nice and easy to find your way around, unlike some mystery shop apps I’ve tried. If the speed were improved and a couple other things were fixed it would be near perfect. Unfortunately the places it does fall short are hard to ignore, especially if you use it at all regularly. ### 1/5 — Understand what this is first: *2025-04-22, version 1.1.28* GigSpot (GS) is a platform that posts “secret shop” gigs for other companies that hire us to do them. It glitches just like every other app, and sometimes it prevents assignment completion and submission. The last “update” really made a mess of things, and now it freezes in app, and on the website, giving a “this page is slowing down your browse” error message in Firefox, chrome, and safari, which is pretty much killing the entire workflow. The response to my last SOS to “support” literally said “it’s going to be a significant wait for a fix, so you should go back to using “Shopmetrics” and the direct MSP websites.” This app also gives incorrect “assignment overdue” admonishments and keeps score, so even if it’s wrong, you get demotions. Here’s something else you need to know: GS doesn’t pay you. The companies that post the gigs on this platform and are responsible for the assignment instructions, deadlines, and terms of payment which can be anywhere from 7 to 90 days from the APPROVAL date, not your submission date. The posting entities are the ones you need to be careful about, and GS can’t help us if we have a problem with the job source. Some are not honest and will fabricate reasons not to pay such as flawed work, and late submissions, so save copies of everything…but it’ll all have to be screen shots because you can’t print your completed assignments from GS because it’s not compatible with printing software. You’re also a 1099 and every contract here mandates arbitration with their defense staff if there’s an issue, so you’re screwed unless it’s a large enough sum to be worth hiring legal counsel. GS may say they work closely with the MSPA but does not “vet” the companies that post the gigs here, so tread carefully and read the blogs to which ones are known for cheating the shopper, and some schedulers are simply unbalanced and get off on messing with you, such as “unassigning” a job after you input all the required data and reassigning it to one of thier buddies so they get paid for your work. There are companies that post gigs here that have been banned by the MSPA that outright will not pay you, will plan assignments to use you to get info they need to get paid by their clients (and profit more by not paying you), or simply manufacture an excuse not pay you for your work even when you do everything perfectly according to the instructions. Even more so with the “off site” gig posters offered in the search function. GS will not help you, so do your research BEFORE you give them your personal info, SSN and payment info, sign a contract, or agree to do any work. Make sure they’ve been vetted and admitted as a member of the MSPA. Check to see if there’s really a legitimate business license or incorporation and working phone and email that contacts a real person/scheduler instead of a voicemail box, generic email address (ex: info@), or a “bot” (all of which are “red flags”). Check the public record and reviews written by other secret shoppers and clients that have hired the gig posters for complaints, and check to see how many times they’ve “rebranded” to hide bad acts by checking the state and local public record, social media, scammer alert sites, and the Better Business bureau (including any former company brands). I got burned and later read some client and shopper reviews that stated they’d also been scammed by the same company, only to discover the company had “rebranded” in the meantime, so they couldn’t even sue…or worse, discovered their SSN had been used to steal their identity, which is a horrible experience that can ruin you for years. Once you’ve done that, start with 1 or 2 no-risk assignments to see how THEY perform, and if they pay what’s promised on time before proceeding further. You’ve got to watch your own back, because no one else will, especially in the “gig” world, because you sign away your rights and shoulder all the expenses, safety risks, and vehicle wear and tear in order to work. I’m posting this so you can learn from my mistakes. I’m well educated with skills that fit this very well and own another business. This is a side-gig and a business as well. I thought the companies that posted here were legitimate based on the positive references, descriptions, and inferred professional affiliations. I did a couple of “no/low cost” gigs for a company that still posts here and it worked, so I accepted additional gigs that required more time and skill for the promise of higher fees that cost me over $200 in travel and expenses plus over 40 hours of my time visiting sites, interviewing, writing up 60 question reports, plus narratives… only to get scammed. I could have made more than those jobs promised combined doing a handful of Instacart gigs and been paid in 48 hours. The main competitor to GS (ISS) is about the same in terms of MSP vetting/shopper safety, but the platform functions much better and support actually helps. ### 4/5 — Great app but it can be improved *2025-04-16, version 1.1.28* So far I have been doing mystery shops for advanced feedback and I have to say they are very clear with the instructions and pay you in less than a week after the shop is approved. On the other hand, I feel the app can be improved by adding more features or gadgets. This app can definitely be improved because its deadline warnings are generic and are often incorrect, but more importantly, the gig posting entities are the ones you need to be careful about. GS doesn’t pay you, the posting entities do, so GS can’t help us if we have a problem with the job poster. GS can’t help us with the gig or the accountability of the company providing the gig. GS may say they work closely with the MSPA but does not “vet” the companies that post the gigs, nor do they check to be sure they’ve been cleared with the MSPA. There are companies that post gigs here that have been banned by the MSPA that outright will not pay you, will plan assignments to use you to get info they need to get paid by their clients (and profit more by not paying you), or simply manufacture an excuse not pay you for your work even when you do everything perfectly according to the instructions. Whenever I open it up, the screen just jumps around for and unreasonably long time before I can open up any of my jobs. Have you considered fixing your glitch? ### 1/5 — Not many options, not always paid *2025-11-17, version 1.1.28* I’ve completed jobs and have been paid fairly, but have also run into where they flag the simplest smallest thing and use that to not pay you, essentially getting you to work for free. There’s no arguing with them on it or ways to provide more info after. Recently I was denied due to not typing word for word the prompt they wanted me to use even though that’s what was implied and I was not paid due to “not following the prompt”. I did, and now I wasted around 2 hours of time and my gas for nothing. ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-10-30, version 1.1.28* Scam ### 1/5 — Don’t use this app unless you like working then not get paid *2025-09-08, version 1.1.28* The problem with this app is the companies that use it - I spent several hours completing an assignment and the company wouldn’t pay me! Another one I had to get after to pay me. These companies have very unethical business practices in that you do a job for them and their client and refuse to compensate you. The mystery shopping jobs take several hours and then you have to fill out detailed surveys which is another couple of hours and take tons of photos and some make you do preliminary work. The app is not great either, but the big problem is the companies. Oh, and if by some chance they pay you, it’s several weeks after you do the job. Stay away from these companies. You can spend hours in total traveling to and from a job, doing the job and then another couple of hours filling out the survey, laying out your own money upfront, all to be told you’ll be paid IF the client accepts the survey. It’s so much easier to use the app versus the mystery shops website. Much more user friendly and cuts down on completion time significantly. When it comes to finding jobs, nothing works for me. All I see are web and phone shops. When I check my companies, it tells me there are companies with jobs in <75 miles, but when I look at available external jobs, I see nothing. I’ve tried searching for jobs and never find anything even though I know a certain company has shops available in the zip code I enter (their website tells me so). It also seems strange to enter a city with no state. It would be better if there was a setting in our profile where you can select a search radius especially for those of us that do route work. Additionally, having to search on each city in a route is time consuming. Bottom line, I don’t trust the app to show me all (or any) of the work that is available. Maybe I’m missing something, so hopefully development gets back to me here. Thanks! p.s. I have never seen a scam job in this app. These jobs are coming from the mystery shop companies themselves. So if there was one, it wouldn’t be the apps fault. I have always been paid for the work I’ve completed. The mystery shop companies pay me directly and I have never been paid by GigSpot.
