I subscribed after seeing a GIO advert on Instagram. The payment was taken directly from my card rather than through Apple, so the subscription does not appear under my iPhone subscriptions. The confirmation email included an “Unsubscribe” link, but when I tried to cancel, the website simply displayed “Something went wrong” and would not process the cancellation. I have contacted GIO support numerous times asking them to cancel the subscription and confirm that no further payments will be taken. I keep receiving automated Zendesk responses that do not actually address my request. I have now had to contact my bank to try to prevent any further recurring charges. Be extremely careful before subscribing. Even if you email them. They just send an email instructing you to find the link to cancel. But guess what… there is NO LINK!! The pricing model is very misleading. You subscribe, you pay and then after 4 or 5 photos it tells you that your weekly limit is reached. You want more photos or videos, pay again. What a scam. For the developers, please don’t try to safe your face by providing a scam comments to the reviews. It is making you look even worse. People, please do not sign up for this app, you will be disappointed. Not only they want you to pay pay pay, when you cancel your subscription and you still have another 10 months to go on the current subscription because you paid for a year, they simply delete your account right away, so your remaining 10 months that you paid are gone, gone, gone. This App will go out of the business in a span of a year. Do not waste your time, money and energy. The customer service is horrible and viscous. ### 1/5 — Started ok, went downhill fast *2026-08-14, version 1.35.1* The first few “shoots” were pretty good - I got at least one shot that I liked from them. After that, it started doing weird stuff that didn’t look like me. What’s worse is when I tried to cancel, it was impossible because the subscription didn’t show up in the App Store and apparently you can’t cancel from within the app either. Customer service is a joke, same generic AI instructions and no one actually reading the emails. It said once you download, you will automatically be logged in after paying I could not download the app. It was not clickable if I downloaded the app myself through the Apple Store I had to pay again I’m contesting I tried to email them and the email got kicked back as fail. Don’t waste your time or money. Please help. I have an active GIO Premium Yearly subscription purchased through Apple for $29.99, which remains active until 15 March 2027. When I purchased the subscription, the Premium subscription included two AI photoshoot packs per week. This is also consistent with GIO’s own published responses describing the Premium subscription as including two photoshoot packs per week. My account is now showing a balance of 0 credits and is asking me to purchase additional credits to generate photoshoots. I have already paid for my annual Premium subscription on the basis of the benefits offered when I subscribed. I therefore don’t believe I should now have to make additional purchases to access the photoshoot allowance that formed part of that subscription. Could you please restore the photoshoot entitlement applicable to my existing annual subscription through to 15 March 2027, or explain how the equivalent weekly allowance is now being provided under the new credit ### 1/5 — Everything takes money *2026-08-28, version 1.36.0* No option for anything free or even to try for free before buying. Never again! ### 1/5 — Scam *2026-08-23, version 1.36.0* Don’t download ### 1/5 — SCAM - LOCKS YOU INTO A SUBSCRIPTION YOU CANNOT CANCEL *2026-08-23, version 1.36.0* Avoid this app if you enjoy keeping hold of your own money. After signing up for a trial period, you will realise there is no option to cancel the subscription/trial within the app, nor is there any link in the confirmation email to cancel. They take your card details through Instagram so the subscription does not appear in your Apple Store and you cannot cancel it that way. Upon contacting support, I was told to click the cancellation link within the subscription email. This link does not exist. It is not in the initial email. Then support just ignored me. Reported them to my bank for fraud and the bank have recovered the trial payment and blocked my card to prevent future payments being taken. This is an appalling scam - locking unsuspecting people into a subscription that they cannot cancel.
