## What is Ægir Iron?

Ægir Iron is a training platform built for strength training. The iPhone app and the full web app share one account, so a set you log on your phone is on your iPad and the web instantly. Every individual lifter uses the entire platform free, with no time limit and no card.

Complete Logging
Quick set entry, RPE, percentage of rep-max, and per-set notes. Resistance bands log by color against your own brand's tensions, and cluster sets are prescribed, logged, and PR-tracked. Bodyweight and a sleep-derived readiness score pre-fill when Apple Health is on.

Programming you shape before you run it
The Program Wizard assembles a full multi-week plan from your goal, your schedule, and your equipment, or starts you on a proven classic like 5/3/1, nSuns, or Power Matrix. Before a session is written you can see which muscles the plan trains, adjust every set, rep, RPE, band, cluster, and AMRAP, and name your split or pick a muscle to emphasize. Drive any movement by RPE, by percentage of training max, or by rep-range double progression, and training maxes advance from your logged results. Edit one day later and apply it across the block or the whole cycle. Or build an empty Cycle/Block/Week/Day structure, add a single session, or upload a program you already run.

Built for all strength styles
Carries, sleds, yokes, and holds are logged the way they are contested, by distance or time, not forced into sets and reps. More than 540 exercises span powerlifting, weightlifting, strongman, calisthenics skill ladders, plyometrics, and mobility, each with target muscles and cues. The meet planner handles powerlifting, weightlifting, and strongman with attempt and warmup selection and automatic scoring (Wilks, DOTS, IPF GL, Sinclair). Completed meets plot on a performance chart, and past results import into one history.

Analytics that tell you what to do next
Three lenses on the same training. Workload (ACWR) with a coupled EWMA smoothed ratio, broken out by movement pattern: squat, hinge, push, and pull. The same read by muscle, with an anatomical Body Map you can step back week by week, showing recovery and volume against target. And a synthesizer that reads all of it and tells you in plain language what is going well and what to watch. Plateau Watch flags stalled lifts. Everything exports to spreadsheet or image in your own units, and any session shares to Strava with its full set list and a muscle map.

Personal records for weight, time, and distance
PRs are awarded automatically across every rep range from 1 to 20, plus timed holds, carry distances, and unweighted rep records. That includes implied records, which update related lifts when a heavier effort makes them true.

Two helpers, one crew
Captain Ægir answers questions about the app and about training, free, and finds a lift by whatever you call it. The optional Ægir Assistant Coach goes further: ask in plain language and get answers grounded in your own results, analytics, and current program, then log workouts, build programs, update maxes, and record meets by typing. A terminology glossary covers eleven more languages, and exercise search matches the words you use.

Coaching on the same account
Connect athletes with one invite link, monitor recovery, workload, and readiness across the roster, and bring a new client's history across for them. Push a program to many athletes at once, each with their own starting maxes.

Every individual lifter, whether self-coached or on a coach's roster, uses the full platform free. Coaching tools (roster management, custom branding, program assignment) are an auto-renewable subscription from $3.99 to $49.99/month by roster size, each starting with a 30-day free trial. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the period ends and can be managed or cancelled anytime in iPhone Settings under Subscriptions. ## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0.2 — 2026-08-25

Program building is one flow now. Pick a goal, set your schedule, and either have a program built for you or start from a proven classic like 5/3/1, nSuns, or Power Matrix. Before a session is written you can see which muscles the plan trains and edit every set, rep, RPE, band, cluster, and AMRAP. Name your split or pick a muscle to emphasize. Edit a day later on and apply it across the block or the whole cycle, instead of editing the same day forty-eight times.

Progression that fits the lift. Bodyweight work advances by reps rather than asking for a higher RPE on a set you cannot load, rep-range double progression is there for lifters the RPE loop does not suit, and deload weeks are labelled as deload weeks.

Analytics no longer needs a programmed block, so freestyle lifters and anyone who imported their history get the full picture. Step back through any training week on the Body Map, see push/pull and quad/hamstring balance against target, and open Training Health straight to volume.

Bring your history with you. Paste an old training log in whatever shape it is already in and have it converted in the app. Coaches can import a client's history for them, one athlete or a whole roster. Training, programs, and archived programs all export, in your own units.

Captain Ægir is a new free helper for questions about the app and about training. Find a lift by whatever you call it, and get a plain answer without leaving what you were doing. A terminology glossary covers eleven more languages.

Fixes: Share to Strava now works in the iPhone app, new programming from your coach appears without a force quit, dropdown and date controls are readable on dark backgrounds, and updated sign-in frameworks fix a rare crash when cancelling the Apple or Google sign-in sheet. Plus dozens of smaller fixes across logging, coaching views, and billing.

### 2.0.1 — 2026-07-29

Cluster sets (prescribe, log, and PR-track them), a new Power Matrix strength template, Plateau Watch in Analytics to catch stalled lifts, and branded share cards for your Body Map, Progress, and Meets. Plus readability polish, sign-in and plan-screen fixes, and an updated Privacy Policy and Terms.

### 2.0 — 2026-07-16

Meet Ægir Assistant Coach, your new in-app AI coach.

- Record meet results
- Get advice on your current program

Every change is previewed and confirmed by you before it saves. The assistant coach is an optional add-on, off until you turn it on in Settings.
