Seems like a lot of stuff thrown at you at first. Would be useful if you could tailor your interest to your location. Make it more relevant. For example someone who lives in canada vs US or EU etc. ### 2/5 — Decent Design Poor Audience *2026-08-22, version 2.5.0* App works decently but the leadership needs to take a stance with the AI. Every post on my feed is “I hate AI, why can’t I hide it”/“Why does everyone hate AI”. Like the whole feed, every day!! My only critiques are things it can’t do: • no native video editing. that means using other social media (☹️) to edit or a video editing app and bringing over your content. And you can’t post more than one video in a post. • no photo editing. similar to the above but with both photos and videos, there are no filters or adjustments besides TEXT and STICKER (and on videos, that’s just for the cover). • I’m not sure it can tell what media I’ve seen already. I’m seeing posts I’ve already seen and even clicked on in my feed again. • You can’t post photos AND videos in one post That’s not enough to keep me from the app though! I LOVE the games, and the option to post different types of media. And NO ADS 🥹🥹 this app has SUCH potential, pls keep it up!!!! 🤍🤍🤍 ### 5/5 — Cut from a Different Cloth *2026-08-17, version 2.5.0* I genuinely love Gist. It feels like a platform for everybody because everyone has a story, experience, or perspective worth sharing. It doesn’t feel overly competitive, the app is easy to use, and I love the different ways you can express yourself through videos, images, and writing. I also appreciate that Gist rewards people for creating thoughtful and engaging content. It feels welcoming, accessible, and built for real people with something to share. ### 5/5 — Great app *2026-08-17, version 2.4.0* I enjoy the post feature that gives you ideas to make your post better. It is very smart & helpful. I also appreciate the reward program thank you. I don’t feel lost in the crowd on Gist—I actually feel seen. It’s easier to connect with people, share what I’m into, and just be myself without feeling like I have to compete for attention. Trash app! I’ve never even left an app review before!! I’m just so outraged at the facade that was created in the app’s ad. DO NOT EVEN BOTHER!!!! ### 1/5 — Trashy ai app *2026-08-22, version 2.5.0* Gist spark programs is a complete scam they just won’t give you progress for being active so you can’t get the gift card ### 1/5 — Disrespectful towards creators - bait and switch *2026-08-21, version 2.5.0* Gist contacted me through Upfluence with a “curated,” “targeted” $1,500 invitation and explicitly said it was “not mass outreach.” That language made it sound like I had been selected. I joined the platform, provided my information, and signed their content authorization—then Gist ignored two follow-ups and rejected me without payment. Although their FAQ says final approval is required, the outreach used a specific paid offer to persuade creators to join before making that distinction meaningful. In my opinion, advertising a targeted $1,500 opportunity, collecting the creator’s authorization, and only afterward saying it was merely an application is bait-and-switch marketing. Gist eventually confirmed that my authorization was not processed and my content was not used, but only after I repeatedly pushed for answers. The experience felt misleading, disorganized, and deeply disrespectful of creators. I would never have joined otherwise, and I cannot recommend Gist. ### 1/5 — App to train AI *2026-08-19, version 2.5.0* It’s clear after installing, this is just an app to farm data to train their AI. Immediately uninstalled. ### 1/5 — Can't log in *2026-08-14, version 2.4.0* How the hell am I supposed to F'n authenticate if it won't let me through email, phone number, Apple or Gmail? This has been a problem since launch ### 1/5 — Worst customer service ever *2026-08-08, version 2.3.0* This app is very misleading. They said that if I posted like three videos and like five videos or something, it was this program that it would give me $20 gift card. It didn’t give me anything and I have reached out to them and nothing. This app sucks very misleading and lying And also I cannot go to where it says promotions and stuff. It literally will not let me do even see it it Horrible and I did do it. It told me that I was gonna give me the gift card and it didnt and I got the other five dollar gift card. I don’t remember what it was for Butt so it wasn’t my email !!! ### 1/5 — Scam app *2026-08-07, version 2.3.0* They keep taking advantage of people’s,they host a challenge and after wasting so much effort they promise to send the prize within 7 days and only for them to text on the 7th day they promise saying I’m not eligible for the offer and I had to turn on my location and I will make a verification and receive code with United state number. ### 1/5 — Misleading Ads. *2026-07-18* I decided to give this app a try based on ads I’d seen on IG. The ad said I could get 20 dollars if I made basic content. But there’s a catch about the type of content. Posts have to be at least 1500 characters to count. Videos need to be of “a certain quality” and the photo posts just get ignored by whatever AI is reviewing my posts. I don’t NEED to get paid to use a social media app, but dangling the proverbial carrot on a string and then being extra particular about the criteria is just shady. **Developer response:** Hi there! Oddly enough people were already getting political, I was told to leave America and that it’s not safe smh really. I think they need to find a way to make people laugh or enjoy the experience more. Feels very dry and forced. Only good content is reposted from Reddit, not sure why they’re doing that. **Developer response:** Thank you for the honest feedback and we need to address the more serious part first. Appreciate you telling us both. ### 1/5 — Fake Interactions *2026-07-16* I’m deeply disappointed with this app.Many of us put genuine care, time, and creativity into our posts, yet it appears you may be using AI-generated bots to interact with and comment on our content, creating the illusion of real engagement. I tested this across several different posts and noticed that the comments consistently follow the same AI-generated reading and response patterns. They often summarize the content rather than responding naturally, which makes them appear automated rather than written by real people. If this is what’s happening, it’s a serious and dishonest practice because it gives creators a false sense of audience engagement. What stands out to me is that the goal isn’t just to get people to post more content—it’s to encourage content that is useful, educational and actually creates conversation. I love discovering people who have something to teach, share or recommend, and I appreciate that Gist seems to be building a community around that kind of content. It feels less like shouting into the social media void and more like exchanging ideas with people. Good little side gig to use, especially when budgeting, to still be able to shop without spending your hard earned money that may go to more important things.
