### 5/5 — Wow - this is amazing

*2026-06-17, version 6.8.8*

I’ve been using Git since 2007, a couple of years after Linus made it available for the Linux kernel. I certainly wish I’d had Working Copy back then, it is fantastic. THANK YOU

### 3/5 — Pricy

*2026-06-16, version 6.8.8*

Clearly a labor of love but be careful of the pricing model. $25 and you get updates for 12 months, then it's another $15.
I've also run into bugs where i couldn't restore changes. I ended up just creating a new branch and committing, but this feels like a core piece of functionality. To be fair, Anders was responsive.

### 5/5 — Org-mode Essential

*2026-06-16, version 6.8.8*

All my org-mode files are way more accessible with paid version, git repo in files app takes the cake.

### 5/5 — The Most Important App I’ve Ever Owned

*2026-06-11, version 6.8.7*

Working Copy is just a godsend for being able to use git with virtually anything, and use GitHub (or whatever you want) to make your code both available and safely stored. I switch devices. I don’t worry about backups. I can have multiple AIs working in different branches, while I do the same. It all comes together seamlessly because Working Copy just does it all, and does it with a great interface and reliability. More than worth the money.

### 3/5 — Mediocre, secretive

*2026-06-07, version 6.8.7*

i personally had a bad experience, the app was monitoring me and my work

### 5/5 — Wow

*2026-06-06, version 6.8.7*

Does everything I need and then some. Believe the hype

### 5/5 — Great for local dev

*2026-05-31, version 6.8.7*

This app is insanely good. Even when you do not pay for it. I love supporting devs and this is too

### 5/5 — Wow

*2026-05-31, version 6.8.6*

What an awesome working copy

### 5/5 — Better than many desktop clients

*2026-05-27, version 6.8.7*

I’ve made multiple suggestions for improvements and each time the dev is responsive and changes that address the feedback land in the app within a few days. Cannot recommend enough

### 5/5 — Working copy

### 5/5 — Worth Every Cent

*2026-05-13, version 6.8.5*

Makes repo management effortless.

### 5/5 — Great for using Git with Obsidian

*2026-05-12, version 6.8.5*

If you are looking for a way to reliably sync your obsidian vault with a git remote then this is your answer. Don't try to use iCloud Drive, it is incompatible with git. Just use this app too clone to your iphone storage in the Obsidian folder in Files, and open the vault in the Obsidian app. It's the only way you will use git and Obsidian without major frustration.

### 5/5 — It’s great!

*2026-05-07, version 6.8.5*

This is exactly the kind of note-taking/git client app I want on my iPhone and iPad.

### 5/5 — 모바일에서 git 관리 가능한 유일한 앱

*2026-05-05*

모바일에서 작업하고 싶어도 못하는데 이것만 유일...

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Bad

*2026-07-28, version 6.9.2*

Why I need to pay for the opportunity to attach repo to every folder I want? Disgusting.

### 1/5 — iOS 26 rewrite was a mistake

*2025-11-21, version 6.6.0*

Numerous display and layout glitches such as the sidebar conflicting with the bottom controls in portrait mode, controls floating over and obscuring content in frustrating ways, only showing first two character of file names followed by ellipses, unreadable dark theme, etc. This tool is much more cumbersome to use now, it's a confusing ill-behaved mess.

### 1/5 — Overpriced

*2025-09-28, version 6.5.0*

Way overpriced. People can't afford basic necessities and you're pricing an app way beyond something even close to being reasonable. And the fact that you raised it $16 in just a month's time is just greed. Absolutely ridiculous.

### 1/5 — Commit not working

*2025-04-17, version 6.3.0*

Not sure what changed but commit is getting stuck

### 1/5 — What?

*2024-12-27, version 6.2.1*

Im sorry, but you require a Pro plan just to push your changes? Do you have to gate-keep even the most important actions? I am fond with the free pro plan for 10 days but this is absurd. All of that work and I have to pay just so that my work has value.

### 1/5 — So slow

*2024-09-02*

Git pull and push is so slow.so Shortcut fails

**Developer response:** There are unfortunately system limits where Working Copy actions are only allowed to run for a maximum of 10 seconds and sometimes push/pull takes longer. This is outside my control.

Consider using the Open X-Callback URL action to perform push/pull inside Working Copy that has no time limits.

If you enter Settings > App Integration > Callback examples there is UI to make it a little easier to create x-callback urls.

### 1/5 — Too many Pay Walls…

*2024-08-19, version 6.0.6*

I understand the need to make money but cmon just to change from dark or light theme it asks me to subscribe? I’d rather find a different way myself or even just use iCloud at this point makes no sense for so many features that are core fundamentals to be paid only really need to reevaluate what features are beneficial and which features are core fundamentals, I can’t even give a full review because I hit pay walls before I could evaluate if it was suitable for my use cases.

**Developer response:** It can be frustrating to see features you need locked behind a paywall but you are not really missing out.

If the push feature had been free the app would have been abandoned years ago as I did other work to make a living. Instead it is continuously improved and maintained.

The most important thing to me is that nobody purchases the pro unlock and regrets it. This is why the app is a free download with a ten day trial.

### 1/5 — Markdown task syntax highlighting is now completely unusable

*2024-05-14*

I have used this app for many many years to manage a repo of Markdown documents.

Recently, the maintainer *tried* to improve Markdown highlighting by making checkboxes tappable. However, the implementation is riddled with bugs, such as where a checkbox will be flipped on the wrong line from the one you're editing extremely frequently. Tapping on a non task line just to edit the text, results in a checkbox on another line being incorrectly toggled. Tapping on an empty line to insert text does the same. The maintainer seems to not be aware of how many bugs they have rolled out and left sitting in this app under the new implementation. Reporting bugs in this app is a tedious and annoying process compared to other apps.

After dealing with this bug dozens of times per day under the new Markdown highlighting, I tried reporting bugs to no avail, I tried switching to plain text, but that's a PITA for editing Markdown... I've basically given up on this app being useable because there's no way to disable this "enhanced" Markdown syntax editing mode that broke something that worked fine for years and years and didn't need changed. It's sad to see an app ruined because of alpha level buggy changes to critical path features, and then no updates to fix the numerous bugs around Markdown tasks in the new redefined Markdown syntax.

**Developer response:** Sorry to hear the app was causing problems.

I take pride in shipping a product without issues but if bugs only happen to a few people and are not reported they go unnoticed.

As a result of your review the checkbox UI has been changed and no longer toggles on tap such that there is no confusion as to whether a tap is meant to move the cursor.

To keep checkbox toggling fast it is now accomplished from the Copy/Paste menu which is automatically shown when relevant.

Hoping this makes Working Copy useful for you once again and for many more years.

*2026-07-08*

The app is thick with features which is a bit daunting, but the shortcut hooks make it sweet and easy. One of the best apps for how it integrates with iOS and makes itself more useful. Using Working Copy along with Obsidian and my own repo.
