## What is Git Notebook?

Create a private GitHub repository and use it as your notebook for life.

Plain text will still be readable a century from now. You are no longer tied to proprietary rich-text formats or forced to keep migrating from one note app to the next.

Markdown gives plain text clean structure and formatting, while every .md file can still be opened and used as simply as a .txt file.

GitHub provides mature, reliable sync and makes it easy to keep copies on any computer or device. Your data remains entirely under your control.

The developer never receives or processes your notes. Git Notebook only provides local viewing and editing with a direct connection to GitHub. Your Personal Access Token is stored locally in iOS Keychain.

The free version already covers most note-taking needs, including creation, editing, folder organization, full-text search, and complete GitHub sync.

On macOS, Windows, and Linux, I recommend VS Code for editing and native Git for syncing.
