The only thing it needs is a dark mode lol. Otherwise 5/5. Will change rating when there is a Dark Mode. ### 3/5 — Doesn’t Read like GitHub *2019-02-02, version 1.27.2* I just got the app and I must say the most glaring thing is that it can’t read MD files like github... really like the only reason I downloaded the app in the first place. Didn’t really care about reading the code. With that said, I still must say formatting for code is pretty ugly when reading code but I guess I’m just nitpicky. There could also be better comment line wrapping. Colors for text could be better. I guess that would be more something for like theme support as everyone’s taste in colors would be different. Personally, I really like dark themes cause they’re easier on the eyes. Doesn’t track my repositories, I have to search them up and book mark them but like seriously threw me for a loop since I connected my account... like what was the point of connecting my account if you aren’t going to connect my repos? It’s okayish for what it is but just doesn’t have what I’m looking for. Could probably open up github on a browser and it’d be better than this (but I haven’t tried yet). I guess maybe it’s more slightly convenient to load up the app but that’s it... ### 3/5 — So far pretty good *2019-01-28, version 1.27.2* One feature that is either missing or impossible to find is how to post comments in a code view, as opposed to just on an PR. I’d probably be here giving it a 4-star review if not for that. ### 4/5 — Helps me track my PRs *2018-12-14, version 1.25.0* With the help of this app, I am able to respond to issues and PRs that I bookmark. I got an email notification from a watched project, but the app still shows nothing days later. ### 4/5 — GHE Support ? *2018-11-20, version 1.24.0* Seems like a fantastic app. Any plan to support GHE? ### 3/5 — Good but not great *2018-10-30, version 1.22.0* By far the best iOS GH client out there, unfortunately it falls short in several aspects. Most notably is the lack for projects. Personally I use projects in several of my repos to organize issues and track releases, but I cannot with this app. Another issue is discovery. It is difficult to find projects you own or contribute to as there is no profile of any sort. You have to search by project name, which also indexes all of GH. Mine was the last project in a number of projects when searching its name. Luckily for me there were only a few results, but I can imagine it being more difficult to find something a bit more common. It also seems it struggles loading/ displaying images in README’s. Aside from that, it’s a great app. It was easy to get started and navigation is clearly labeled and intuitive. Design is a fantastic mix between native iOS and GH elements, making it feel familiar and professional. One concern of mine is the update frequency. The last update was 2+ months ago, and I prefer apps to be maintained and developed a little more frequently than that. But for a free app, I’m not complaining. ### 4/5 — Good but could use push notifications *2018-09-21, version 1.22.0* GitHawk is very useful and well executed - I recommend it - but it lacks one feature that I would value greatly: the ability to get a lock screen or home screen notification when a new notification is present on GitHub. The icon badge is insufficient for my needs. **Developer response:** Keep an eye out for our next app update! ;) ### 4/5 — A great little app *2018-08-19, version 1.22.0* The only thing it’s missing is custom font sizing. That would make it a five star app 😋 **Developer response:** We do support iOS settings font sizes! Just have to restart GitHawk to take effect. ### 4/5 — Inbox always empty *2018-07-30, version 1.21.0* Update: I was able to get my notifications to come through by enabling web notifications on GitHub. This should be listed as a step above. After doing so I have to say the app has a much better interface than the github webapp. Easier to @mention and add screenshots which is a huge value add. One issue still is there is no way to integrate email notifications with githawk. In my workflow I get a toooon of email notifications for tickets, but I have to address them in two places. I don’t want to fully disable email notifications, as I do a bunch of work on my computer and use this app exclusively for my phone. The best case-scenario for my workflow would be if github emails allowed me to open directly to githawk. —- I receive tons of notifications through github everyday, but none of them are showing up on this app even though my organization has granted access. The user experience is paramount to a product. Also, there is no option to disable word wrap. Sometimes code can be hard to follow when code from one line is pushed on to multiple lines. The upcoming local notifications (via background app refresh) feature is an absolute game-changer.
