Welcome to **Gitzy 2.3**! This update improves how you organize repositories, keeps the commit graph steady while you sync, and makes working with repos **outside your default storage folder** reliable on macOS and iOS.

### Repository list
- **Favorites:** Pin important repositories to the top of the list.
- **Sorting:** Choose how the list is ordered—recently opened, recently added, or by name.

### Smoother repository refresh
- After fetch, pull, push, or refresh, the commit graph and changes view stay visible while data reloads, with less flashing and fewer layout jumps.

### Repositories outside the default folder
- **Browse to open:** If a repository lives outside your configured default location, use **Browse** to add it—Gitzy can store the security-scoped access it needs.
- **Clear guidance:** Pasting a path that still needs explicit access shows a helpful message instead of failing silently.
- **Remotes & sync:** Once access is granted, remote URLs are resolved more reliably (Git remotes first, with config as a fallback).

Keyboard shortcuts and shortcut bar
- Shortcuts for Stage All, Unstage All, Commit, Amend, Fetch, Pull, Push, Branches, and Sync in repository detail and the sync sheet (command-based combos so they do not conflict with text fields).
- Always-visible shortcut legend on repo detail; tap a pill to run the action when it is available.

What's New in 2.1

Faster commit history
Reopening a repository now restores the commit graph from cache, so your history appears instantly when you switch back to a repo. The graph still refreshes automatically after you commit, push, pull, or refresh, so you always see up-to-date history when it matters.

Central HTTPS token management
Settings → Authentication → HTTPS Tokens is your single place to manage credentials. See all hosts (from your repos and stored tokens), check status at a glance (OK, no token, or issue), and add, update, or remove tokens without digging into each repo.

Credential status in repo detail
A small status pill under the repository title shows credential health for that host. Tap it to update the token, remove it, or retry validation. If credentials are missing or recently failed, you get a clear warning before sync so you can fix things first.

Clearer repository screen
Repository actions (Worktrees, Git LFS, Workspace, Files, Working Tree vs HEAD, Pull Requests) are now grouped under two sections — "Repository" and "Browse & collaborate" — so the screen is easier to scan and less cluttered.

Release workflow
The release workflow sheet now shows "Generating draft…" while building draft release notes, and if you try to generate a draft in an empty repository, you get a clear message instead of a silent or confusing failure.

Other improvements
Saving a token from the authentication recovery sheet now correctly clears the failure state and marks the host as configured. The remote sync banner and commit analysis card use a consistent surface style for a cleaner look.

Gitzy 2.0 Release Notes

Gitzy 2.0 is a major step forward from version 1.0. The app has grown from a focused mobile Git client into a much more capable developer tool for repository inspection, history control, safe sync, and advanced maintenance workflows on iPhone and iPad.

What changed from 1.0 to 2.0

Repository workflows are broader and more complete. In addition to opening, initializing, and cloning repositories, Gitzy now gives you stronger control over repository state, sync confidence, and recovery paths when something goes wrong.

The commit graph is more capable and easier to use. History browsing now includes better graph navigation, stronger visual continuity, richer commit actions, and deeper commit inspection. You can move through history more confidently and act on commits directly from the graph with less friction.

Branch and history control have expanded significantly. Gitzy 2.0 adds stronger support for cherry-pick, interactive rebase, squash workflows, revert handling, and more deliberate reset flows. These tools are presented with clearer safety messaging and better mobile-first UX.

Pull request workflows are now part of the app. Gitzy 2.0 adds provider-aware pull request support with list and detail views, review and comment capabilities, local PR checkout, merge handling, status checks, branch protection context, and clearer merge diagnostics where supported by the active host.

File inspection is much stronger in 2.0. The file viewer now supports search, history, blame, compare actions, syntax-aware viewing for common developer files, markdown and JSON presentation, and image preview. This makes repository exploration much more useful without leaving the app.

Interactive staging is now available. Instead of only working at the whole-file level, you can now shape changes with hunk-level and line-level staging and discard actions. This gives Gitzy a much more practical commit workflow for real development use.

Patch workflows have been added. Gitzy 2.0 can export patches, preview imported patches, apply them, and provide recovery-oriented flows including undo where appropriate. This is a major expansion over the earlier release.

Advanced repository tools are now built in. Gitzy 2.0 adds guided bisect, worktree management, stronger submodule workflows, and expanded Git LFS tooling. These features make the app more useful for real maintenance work and not only everyday commit and sync tasks.

Sync and safety workflows are more robust. Push and pull flows now include clearer preflight validation, repository health context, branch safety warnings, improved auth recovery, and more understandable rejected-push handling. The app does more to help you understand consequences before you make destructive or high-risk changes.

Error handling is substantially improved. Compared with 1.0, Gitzy 2.0 does a better job of translating repository, network, auth, merge, branch, and host-level failures into readable messages with useful recovery direction.

Developer experience has been refined across the app. Many screens now have better empty, loading, and error states, stronger keyboard handling, improved swipe and context actions, better navigation consistency, and more deliberate mobile interaction patterns.

Optional AI support has also matured since 1.0. AI remains user-controlled, but 2.0 includes broader developer assistance surfaces, stronger safety controls, and better handling of unavailable or low-confidence AI output.

In short, version 1.0 established Gitzy as a capable mobile Git client. Version 2.0 makes it a much more complete and practical tool for serious repository work on iPhone and iPad.
