I have been told it is my wifi etc when strange enough, my wifi is fine for everything else. I did not get help from tech support. I wrote this a couple months ago but apparently it never posted. I am having terrible problems again. I really want to use this app! 12/2/24 ### 2/5 — September, 2024 Issue Problematic *2024-09-19, version 1.10.7* First, I tried to contact Lit Press via the app and could not find any way to do that, so I am writing a review. The Sept, 2024 issue has problems with the daily calendar drop down menu. When you fix it, I write an updated review and give the app five stars because it is very good. I have been using it since it’s inception. ### 3/5 — App crashes *2024-07-16* I often end up using my app but when I do it has been crashing as soon as I open it. After opening 2 and on occasion 3 times, it actually opens. ### 4/5 — Great but I wish I could scroll through each day page by page *2024-05-21, version 1.10.5* I wish it was possible to click on a date scroll through page by page. Instead each section is separated and you have to go back to the calendar again and again to open the menu and see the next item for the day. It would also be helpful if there was a “Today” button somewhere obvious so you could quickly go to the correct date. I love that every time I return to the app I see the cover with its beautiful image and just tap it to return to where I was reading. Overall it is a great app and really nice way to read the daily readings. I usually appreciate the reflection. The daily saint is often good too—I like that the net is cast wide to include those who are not officially “saints” and includes those outside the church. This is very important to me. I’d like to see more inclusion. ### 3/5 — Crashes on iPads *2023-08-15* I love this app, but it consistently crashes on my iPad. Additionally, randomly while using it, I’ll have to log back into the app. Unfortunately it takes several times using the correct user name & password. Can be aggravating. When this occurs I go to the website site! ### 4/5 — Love the digital vs print! *2023-04-11, version 1.10.5* I like the convenience of the daily readings at my fingertips. If I had any complaints it would be the occasional ‘need to login’ every couple of months even though the subscription is up to date. Also there have been times where the app quits for no reason. Usually it takes about a day then it’s working fine again. ### 1/5 — DO NOT BY DIGITAL APP *2020-10-22, version 1.10.4* Purchased annual digital access for $19.99 through Apple Store after viewing for 30 days free. Since purchasing I have been unable to access the app content. Message over grayed out screen says “free trial expired - subscribe now”. Tried contacting GUTD Tech support dept. via email, and also contacted by phone and was told I don’t show up on their records and I have to work with Apple for access/support/refund. Crazy! Figured out how to turn off the automatic renewal, but I’m still out $19.99 for access I was supposed to have until 09/21/2021. ### 1/5 — Give us this day *2020-07-17, version 1.10.4* No stars. After your subscription has ended you should be able to access what you already paid for. The content itself, especially the reflections and intentions are just not inspiring. In the beginning it was wonderful and thought I would subscribe. Then it started not opening some of the readings. Very frustrating. Now I have to go thru hoops to “register” for the app??? This is a Jesuit publication?!? ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work *2026-02-17, version 1.10.13* I signed up yesterday for the print and digital including the app. I tried to use the app multiple times and had no luck. I reached out to them and it was useless. Still tried multiple times and had no luck. I then thought maybe if I just purchase via the app I would have luck. Still the same and now I’m out of $75. I had Give Us this Day for many years and this is the first time the experience was less than great. After this experience I think I will just stay with Magnificat. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-01-21, version 1.10.10* I am so disappointed in this app. I resubscribed today, hoping to enhance my Prayer life. When I logged on, I was told I needed to resubscribe which I had already done and have the receipt to prove it. I reach out to customer support multiple times only to be told someone will get back to me. I deleted the app, I reinstalled it, nothing… I called tech-support and spoke to the most disinterested agent who basically told me there was nothing that she could do that I would have to wait 24 to 48 hours! Really?! For a digital app?! at this point I want my money back. Honestly, the lack of follow-through, the poor tech support, the disinterest is appalling. I had no such trouble with Hallow, which gave me immediate access to their platform. I am having terrible problems again. I really want to use this app! 12/2/24 Apparently this still didn’t post even though I hit submit. It is 3/31/25 and I use the app on my ipad when I’m not home. It just crashed 8 times and never would load! ### 1/5 — Not good *2024-09-21, version 1.10.7* Every time I open the app it tells me that my subscription has run out. I click renew and choose an option. When I close the app and reopen it I get the same error message and when I click renew it gives me the options to renew when I click on the option I chose it tells me that I have renewed and the next date of renewal. I close the app, when I open it up again I get the same error message and I go through the process all over again. I have deleted and reinstalled the app and I get the same error message again. Until this gets fixed I will only give one star and tell people who ask me it is not worth the headache of going through what I go through every time I open this app. It is not worth this headache every time. It worked until it did not. My credentials failed and the App Developers refused to support trying say the issue was with Apple App Store. Not just incorrect, but a lie. Then they simply stopped responding. Trash developers. ### 1/5 — Semi-worthless! *2023-06-19, version 1.10.5* Sadly, this seems to be the only Catholic liturgical app that includes the Introduction Antiphon, Collect, and other Mass readings. All other “Catholic” apps just jump to the First, Psalm, and Gospel readings (as if that was all the liturgy involved)! Very sad of other apps. That said, the Give Us this Day app is BROKEN and it’s IT department, as friendly as they are, can’t help you fix a broken app (broken and non-functioning on different phones). It’s broken and only gets updated annually (at beast). Do not recommend, specially since you have to pay for an annual subscription. ### 1/5 — I paid for a year, but... *2020-11-21, version 1.10.4* I paid for a year’s subscription to this app but was kicked off after a month or so. I assume this is a glitch but the publisher has not replied to my queries and the support link for the product in the App Store is dead. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — This OLD, OLD, OLD lady so appreciates it. *2026-07-31, version 1.10.14* I happened upon this app a few years ago. What a gift. I get the digital subscription and gift a few to others. It is a calming, enlightening and affirming subscription. With an 86 year Catholic background I can use and really need the connection I reclaim and the reflections clarify questions I have had forever. Thank you for providing me such a gift. And when I have called for support it has been very successful. Again you are dealing with an old, old, old lady…with such grace I must add. ### 5/5 — New update has bugs *2024-09-19, version 1.10.7* I’m unable to open any dates in the app and the current dates are blank. I miss my daily readings. ### 5/5 — Even better *2020-05-03, version 1.10.0* Two major improvements with this latest update is giving more screen real-estate to the texts of the liturgy rather than menu space. Second, I like that if you now close this app and to to another, when you return it will go to where you were before. I would like to see higher resolution images. I use an iPad Pro 12” and the images are a bit blurry for my large screen. The publishers did a truly outstanding job on this app with a great look and feel and easy to use links and "back" buttons for morning and evening prayers. This app is so good that I'm betting it encourages more people to try the publication. Really impressive! ### 5/5 — How Wonderful - such a blessing *2015-05-16, version 1.1* I love reading from my GUTD book, holding the nicely sized and well produced volume and flipping the pages. But this app makes sure I can stay in the word wherever I go. It's ver well built, with good links for navigating around the book.
