### 1/5 — force closes

*2021-04-28, version 1.7.3*

I would love it if this app worked with my daughter’s kit!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t even work

*2021-01-11*

The app doesn’t work at all. I have the Gizmos and Gadgets kit and really disappointed I can’t even use the app and use it properly!! I’ve tried reinstalling it and no matter what I can’t sign up. I’ve tried the other app too and my kit isn’t even on there. I found that I can use the controller if I select another kit on a completely different app then it will connect.

But really? A kit like this should have a working app and it would be nice to have a reply since I’ve read a lot of other people had the same problems.

### 1/5 — Super inconvenient

*2020-06-14, version 1.7.3*

The app is super hard to use, and the actual product is hard to put together. It doesn’t come with instructions so you have to get the app. The apps instructions are not clear. The pictures are tiny so you can’t see. The scale is incorrect so I couldn’t even see where to put the pieces. Would not recommend and will not buy again.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2020-06-14*

I recently purchased my son the “Gizmos & Gadget kit”, he was excited to be able to use the app, as advertised on the box with infinite possibilities regarding inventions & challenges.

The app does not even work, it’s impossible to sign in, or set up an account, I even noticed a message that said the app is still in development.

It would be nice to receive a reply, given I’m sure many people have purchased this product which falsely advertisers a non-existing & functioning app.

### 1/5 — Crashing

*2019-11-29, version 1.7.1*

Every time I open the app it immediately crashes. Loved using the set until now.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2019-11-14, version 1.7.1*

Closes immediately.

### 1/5 — Shutting down

*2019-11-09, version 1.7.1*

New iOS version. App is shutting down a second after opening

### 1/5 — Keeps crashing

*2019-11-08, version 1.7.1*

I have two kits for use at my library and it says “Wait you need the app!” When I open the kit. However, the app crashes as soon as I open it on our iPad and I can’t use my personal cell phone to give to patrons at the library. When I click on app support it tells me the page isn’t found.

### 1/5 — App crashes on start up

*2019-10-25, version 1.7.1*

Tested on different iPads, different iOS installs, and a few iPhones as well. The app no longer opens.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2019-08-12*

I spent lots of money on the different kits and had a very excited 10yr ready to have fun, only to find the app can’t be used and doesn’t show anything. We can’t add any kits or anything to it?
Please fix this

### 1/5 — No Kits / No Bits pictures

*2019-08-04, version 1.7.1*

The app asks to add a kit, but there are no kits to select.

Made an account on the website to bypass that, but there are still no kits to add and none of the bits have pictures.

### 1/5 — Company too lazy to make content/tutorials

*2018-12-06, version 1.7.1*

First of all, I love the idea of building projects with my daughter. Problem is, these kits they sell have a limited amount of projects included and then they lean on other kids to create projects FOR THEM for free. Most of what’s found are basically show-off projects with NO direction.
Littlebits answer to this is “just create stuff...by buying more kits!” And again just a few small projects.
This company really needs to hire some real project tutorial makers without pushing it back to other kids to create content for them. It’s not working. Now I have 3 kits collecting dust because my daughter, and peoples other kids I’ve tried to give them away to, don’t want them. Just more junk for the landfill.
Littlebits - a word of advice. Kids need direction in these kits. When a FEW get older, then they create their own stuff - but only a few. You can’t expect ALL kids to “just create” after 3, 4 or 12 projects. You obviously don’t have kids and are designing for yourself.

### 2/5 — App forces close

*2018-07-11, version 1.6.8*

We have only used the app a handful of times. It was great until it stoped working. Now it forces close immediately every time we open it. Will upgrade my review if this issue is fixed because my son really likes it and would like to continue using it.

### 1/5 — Crashes after 10 seconds

*2018-07-10*

I’m afraid this app simply doesn’t run on my iPhone 6s Plus...

### 1/5 — If it doesn't arrive broken, don't worry, it will break soon enough

*2018-06-22, version 1.6.8*

Great concept if it had worked. Very cheaply made.

### 1/5 — Wow

*2018-04-21, version 1.6.6*

Well I'm glad I decided to do my homework on the product I was really excited when I saw this I almost just got it with out looking into it. I am happy I did and will be waiting to see what other companies do in the future I'm sure it won't be long til someone really wants to help out little inventors with something they can use and learn from with out a huge marketing scam.... People who do this and take advantage of children's excitement and wonder over things they won't be able to achieve even if they wanted to because what they’re selling will never actually be what their showing it sold as should be ashamed of themselves terrible people do things like that I will never buy from this company

And In order to write a review I have to rate them at least one star to make my thoughts heard and add to there rating smh

Why are people rating this product at 3/4 stars if all your saying about it is negative I don’t understand

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stinks!!!

*2023-05-03*

I got this because I love building and robots. I needed the app so I got this, I opened up the app and it opened to the inventions page and it said no results, I went to the other page and tried to figure it out. It also wouldn’t let me make an account.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2023-01-21*

Just shows wight!

### 1/5 — Why publish an app that doesn’t work ??

*2022-07-07*

I have been waiting years for my son to grow up enough to build some littlebits and the ipad app completely lets these gadgets down. Couldnt use Sign Up (internal error) then tells me my email is now “already used”, so buggy signup process. Wasted 2 email addresses doing this. Finally signed up 3rd email address via pc browser. The ipad app refuses to show any images for construction so again disappointment from the kids. Only way i found to build the megablaster was via google search on pc and littlebits website Sorry but these devices are a very expensive exercise with potentially thousands spent per customer. For goodness sake, fix the apps and signup so it just works. Ipad pro, ioS 15.5

### 1/5 — ANONYMOUS

*2021-12-26, version 1.7.3*

This app has a great concept but a HORRIBLE execution as soon as I signed up it closed out the app and now I cannot reopen it

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2021-12-26*

Registered an account for the avengers kit and wouldn’t let me log on the app is now crashed and won’t open at all

### 1/5 — Should be zero stars

*2021-12-24, version 1.7.3*

The app is awful. I can’t understand why we need to have an account in the app in order to use the kit that we already purchased for the life of me. The app doesn’t even open most of the time. It’s atrocious. Avoid littlebits products at all cost!

### 1/5 — Wow I’m so happy! (Seconds later) AAAAAAAA

*2021-12-02, version 1.7.3*

It keeps on crashing and ruins the experience.

### 1/5 — Never worked

*2021-11-05, version 1.7.3*

I am so deeply disappointed in this app and this company. We invested in the gizmos and gadgets kid and our kid was so exited to use the app with the kit. We tried reinstalling and installing on different devices to no avail. I feel ripped off and my kid gave up on the kit and the company.

### 1/5 — 👎🏻

*2021-08-15*

This is a good app and has good potential but right after I sign Up it kicks me out of the app and I can’t go back In it just kicks me out.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2021-08-04*

This app doesn’t work

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good, but improvements would be nice.

*2018-01-26, version 1.6.5*

I had an ‘exciting’ adventure with customer support, having lost my cloudbit microSD card (User error! Not their fault!) they were really nice, gave me a (bugged) tool to UPDATE the firmware. I found an img of the firmware online. however it does Not support iPad mini 4 screen, so I had annoying black borders. Please just add this API, it would make my day. Functionality-wise, it works fine, I signed in with my Google account and it was able to set up after a few tries, works great!

### 5/5 — App great but challenges page not working

*2016-01-12*

The app is well designed, intuitive and full of good content. The challenges page forces the app to close and there's no contact details on the app to report this to them.

This issue seems to be resolved so bumping up to 5 stars. Particularly for the speed in which the issue was resolved.

### 4/5 — Love it but,

*2018-09-28, version 1.7*

Please please add apple home capability so that Bluetooth or cloudbit will be able to use home as a controller. This and need more coding! Perhaps a dedicated app for coding to the code bit? Or ability to to write code for the R2D2 command chip outside the Star Wars invent app (which takes up a lot of space) same for the avengers theme kit. This is a great solution for rapid prototyping I find these bits super useful to get the idea or a buildable schematic before breaking out a soldering iron and making something. They are also great teaching tools!
I would also like to see more options for controllers through the various apps like controlling blebit and cloudbit simultaneously on one screen (some of us have loads of these and want to use them all). I love littleBits and combining with LEGO I can build the thing I’m after in small scale first and do all the tinkering to make sure the final work will be perfect.

### 4/5 — Pretty good

*2017-10-29, version 1.6.5*

I just got it, and found it easy to understand! Dunno how it will turn out, but all parts work for now. Hard to find more uses though.

### 4/5 — No kits to select fix

*2017-02-21, version 1.6.4*

I had the same issue of not being able to select which kit but was able to fix it. I deleted the ap and reinstalled it. Then in the beginning it asks you what kit you have: be sure to select all of them that you have by clicking on it then hit add or done(can't remember the words) . That worked for us.

### 3/5 — There is nothing for me to build

*2019-02-16, version 1.7.1*

When I go on the app and look for stuff to build, it uses a whole bunch of different things that I don’t have. I only have the gizmos and gadgets kit but not the CloudKit.

### 3/5 — Great app, but drains battery and only on iPhone

*2017-04-20*

This app is very user-friendly and well-designed! Two things I would like to see improved: When using this app to control my newly built rover from the Gizmos & Gadgets Kit (2nd edition), I noticed that my iPhone 5S battery drained significantly in a short period of time (no other app does this to my phone). Also, I would love to read all the helpful information and instructions provided on this app on an iPad - there is a lot of text and it'll be easier to read on a bigger screen. Happily anticipating more updates for these potential improvements! Thanks for reading c:

### 3/5 — Can't add kits

*2017-02-12, version 1.6.4*

Can't add any kits in the app. Just opened the kit and installed the app and when trying to add a kit nothing is displayed.

UPDATE: Wasn't working on two different devices but today it is so updating rating.

### 2/5 — app crashes

*2021-12-13, version 1.7.3*

the app is good, but everytime it is crashing when I try to open it.

### 2/5 — Ok

*2020-07-08*

It has great ideas, but... the Bluetooth connections don’t work. You get three out of four connection bars when your thing is literally on top of your iPad. It would take around half an hour to load.
