## What is GLab?

Review, approve and merge from your phone — on gitlab.com or your company's self-hosted GitLab. GLab is a fast, native iPhone client for developers who ship on the go. You assemble the Home screen yourself, so it shows only the work waiting on you.

Works with gitlab.com and any self-hosted GitLab (CE or EE, 14.x+). Connect multiple instances and switch in one tap.

— WHAT YOU CAN DO —

A Home screen you assemble
• Up to eight modules: review requests, your MRs, issues, todos, failed, active and recent pipelines, recent projects
• Every section renders as a list or a carousel; content, order and density are yours to set
• Developer, Reviewer and Lead / DevOps presets rebuild Home in one tap
• A status line: signals awaiting you, offline and unsent state
• Swipe actions right in the lists: approve, merge, close an issue, retry or cancel a pipeline, snooze for a day

Merge Requests
• Full diff viewer with syntax highlighting and word-level changes
• Comment on lines; threaded discussions — reply, resolve, edit
• Apply suggestions from a review straight into the code
• Create MRs; edit title, description, labels, assignees, milestone
• Approve, unapprove, merge, rebase, close, reopen

Issues
• Create, comment, close, reopen, lock
• Edit title, description, labels, assignees, milestones, due dates
• Emoji reactions, subscribe, search across all projects

CI/CD Pipelines
• Active builds across all your projects right on the Home screen
• Live status with stages, jobs and duration in the list
• Run a pipeline on any branch; retry, cancel, play manual jobs
• Raw build logs refreshing live; environments, deployments and runners

Repository
• Browse the file tree, view blobs with highlighting, line history (blame)
• Create/delete files; branches and tags, compare diffs, commit history
• Wiki, Snippets and Releases — browse and edit; README rendering

Todos, groups and Ops
• Unified todo inbox by project and action; mark-all-done and swipe actions
• Activity feed, GitLab status, group list drilling into projects
• CI/CD variables, schedules, runners, environments, registry (Maintainer+)
• Project members — add, change access level, remove

— FAST AND OFFLINE —

Merge requests and issues are ready on Home from cache, even offline. Pipelines and job logs update live, then pause in the background to save battery.

— MULTI-INSTANCE BY DESIGN —

Every project, MR, issue and pipeline is scoped to its GitLab instance — gitlab.com never mixes with self-hosted, even with matching issue numbers. Custom domains, server version detection, fallbacks for missing endpoints.

— PRIVACY AND SECURITY —

• Personal Access Token and OAuth 2.0 PKCE sign-in
• Tokens stored only in the Keychain, on this device
• Tokens, emails, URLs and response bodies are never logged or sent to analytics
• Anonymous analytics/crash reports — no personal data, no ad IDs
• Privacy policy: https://gitlab.com/appstore-demo/glab/-/blob/main/PRIVACY.md

— FREE AND PRO —

GLab is free for read-only browsing of unlimited projects. Optional Pro subscription (auto-renewing, 3/6/12 months) unlocks:
• Multiple connected GitLab accounts
• Create issues and MRs; comment on diff lines, apply suggestions, edit, react
• Repository editing — files, branches, tags
• Approve/merge MRs; run, retry, cancel pipelines; manage CI/CD variables

Charged to your Apple ID; auto-renews unless cancelled 24h before period end.

— NATIVE ON iPhone —

iOS 18 and later. 100% SwiftUI, Dynamic Type, VoiceOver, light and dark themes.

Widgets (Home Screen, Lock Screen, StandBy) show your MRs, todos and pipelines at a glance. Siri Shortcuts open a project hands-free. Apple Watch mirrors your review queue, todos and pipelines.

Download GLab — your next review is one tap away.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.1 — 2026-08-25

GLab 1.2.1 — sign-in on iOS 18 is fixed.

FIXED
• Sign-in and list loading on iOS 18: the app failed to parse the dates GitLab sends, so merge requests, issues and pipelines would not open. Sorry for the broken 1.2.0 — this release fixes it
• Viewing repository files whose path contains subdirectories
• Background list refresh stability

IMPROVED
• Clearer network errors: the app is more specific about what is unavailable and what to do next
• You can now rate GLab straight from Settings

Tell us what to improve — support is available from the app's Settings.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-08-19

GLab 1.2.0 — a Home screen you assemble yourself, and GitLab on iPhone from iOS 18.

NEW
• Customizable Home: up to eight modules — review requests, your merge requests, issues, todos, failed, active and recent pipelines, recent projects. You choose what's there, in what order and how dense
• Every section renders as a list or a carousel: short items swipe sideways instead of eating the screen, long titles stay readable
• Layout presets for Developer, Reviewer and Lead / DevOps — one tap rebuilds Home around your role. Your own layout is saved, unwanted sections can be removed and brought back any time
• A status line instead of a greeting: how many signals need your decision, what's offline and what's still queued to send. Plus a dedicated queue screen with a Snoozed section
• Swipe actions right in the lists: approve and merge an MR, close an issue, retry or cancel a pipeline, snooze anything for a day
• The app now runs on iPhone with iOS 18 and later — it used to require iOS 26

IMPROVED
• Project rows rebuilt: two lines instead of five, with the latest default-branch pipeline status, MR and issue counts, and last activity right in the list
• The project screen is now sectioned — overview shortcuts, work, code, CI/CD — and refreshes signals in place instead of reloading everything
• Recent and starred projects live in one place; groups and projects share one visual style
• Denser repository browser, reworked search and navigation
• Irreversible todo actions are now named for what they do, so nothing gets marked done by accident
• Compact account settings; load failures offer retry and mark stale data

### 1.1.0 — 2026-07-07

GLab 1.1.0 goes deeper offline — and onto your Home Screen, Lock Screen and Apple Watch.

NEW
• Home Screen, Lock Screen and StandBy widgets — merge requests, todos and pipelines at a glance, tap through to the right screen
• Siri Shortcuts (App Intents): open a project or check your merge request count hands-free
• Apple Watch companion app — your review queue, todos and pipelines on your wrist, with on-demand refresh right from the watch
• Active pipelines on the Home screen: a live counter of running builds across all your projects, with a list that jumps straight to the details
• Wiki editing: create and edit pages
• Snippets: create, edit and delete
• Releases: create, edit and delete release notes for any tag
• Manage project members — add, change access level, remove

IMPROVED
• Inline diff review rebuilt: comments land precisely on the line you tapped, even after new commits; multi-line comment ranges; quick navigation between review threads
• Deeper offline support: merge request, issue, pipeline, repository and search screens all work from cache; actions you take offline queue up and sync automatically once you're back online
• Faster, unified background refresh powering widgets and Home
• Simpler Settings: one Accounts screen with one-tap switching, profile and activity inside your account, Support and About on their own screens
• Groups are now a clean flat list with richer cells — drill down screen by screen instead of expanding a hierarchy

Thanks for all the feedback — keep it coming at emvakar@gmail.com.

### 1.0.2 — 2026-06-29

GLab 1.0.2 is our biggest update yet — now the whole loop fits in your pocket: create, review and ship work without leaving your phone.

NEW
• Create issues and merge requests right in the app
• Apply suggestions from a review straight into the code
• Comment on specific lines of a diff; reply in threads, mark resolved and edit
• Emoji reactions, subscribe to updates, add to your todos, and rebase
• Groups: browse your full group structure — tap to expand subgroups and projects
• Edit issues and MRs — title, description, labels, assignees and milestone
• Repository writes: create and delete files, manage branches and tags, view line history (blame)
• CI/CD: run a pipeline on any branch, manage variables and pipeline schedules
• Set your GitLab status — emoji, message and automatic clear
• Live updates: running pipelines, job logs, merge requests, Home and Todos refresh on their own
• Works offline: your merge requests and issues are ready on Home, even without a connection

IMPROVED
• Richer runners view — tags, online state, version and last contact at a glance
• Accurate project counts and full pagination on Home, even on instances that hide totals
• Skeleton loading and pull-to-refresh on merge request and issue screens
• Friendlier support for older self-hosted GitLab — clear hints instead of errors
• Calmer behavior under GitLab rate limits — no aggressive retries after 429

FIXED
• Empty and error screens now render with the correct background
• Removed dead-end "coming soon" placeholder screens
• Fixed rare loading hangs and glitches when resuming from the background

Thanks for all the feedback — keep it coming at emvakar@gmail.com.

### 1.0.1 — 2026-05-29

This update makes GLab faster, smoother, and more predictable when you work with multiple accounts.

Improvements:
• Faster cold launch and tab switching — MR, Issues and Pipelines lists open noticeably quicker
• Lower memory footprint on long diffs and large files in the repository browser
• Fewer redundant network calls: detail screens now reuse data from shared stores
• Smarter handling of GitLab rate limits — no more aggressive retries after 429
• Polished multi-account behavior: account switching and deeplinks now correctly respect your GLab Pro status
• When Pro expires or is cancelled, your active account stays fully accessible while other connected accounts are clearly marked as locked until you resume the subscription
• Minor visual fixes in Settings, Account Switcher and paywall
• Stability: fixed rare loading hangs and crashes when resuming from background

Thanks for the feedback — keep it coming at emvakar@gmail.com.
