It also blocks apple from saving the passwords to literally have to type everything every time I open the app (if it opens) If it open it’s only after about 5 mins… yes for real. Looked it up and saw I can connect to an app to change the temp of my home from my phone and thought it was a great idea. However after trying 3 different emails it will NOT let me make an account. So I thought maybe it was still linked to whoever use to live here and reset the entire device and tried again. Still no luck, so I went online to try to make an account and they don’t have a way to create an account online. So idk what I’m doing wrong but what’s the point of an app that you can’t even create an account on. I’d give it 0 stars if it was an option. I haven’t given up tho and will update if I ever I’m ever aloud to create one. ### 1/5 — Can’t get signed in!! *2024-02-10, version 1.2.76* I’ve been unable to sign in through the app, for as long as I can remember!! I’ve deleted the app, cleared the data, and tried to start over, only for it to tell me I’ve already got an account!! The thermostat works great, but the app is HORRENDOUS!!!! I’d give ZERO SRARS, if I could, mainly for the app!! ### 1/5 — Can’t even make an account *2023-11-20* I’ve must have tried at least 3 different emails to make an account to even try and use this stupid app to no avail. Every time I get a failure notification asking if I have an account already. Don’t know why I’d need 3 different emails with 3 different accounts so I know I don’t. Not to mention the loading time for the app to start up. Might as well get up and change it yourself because your gonna be waiting a good minute to load in. But I’ve never got to use the app so maybe that changes if your allowed to make an account who knows. I’m not sure why the majority of people are having problems with it. I haven’t had a single problem with the app. Every time I am able to access the thermostat via the app to change the temp. Not once have I had a problem with the thermostat or the app itself. ### 4/5 — Not as bad as other reviews have remarked *2021-01-01, version 1.2.76* I have had two Glas thermostats installed and operating for two months. They are absolutely beautiful and function very well. I would highly recommend. The app is basic but it’s not as slow for me as others have documented. I like it a lot. I did a lot of research before purchasing and I’m very happy with my choice. I know others complain about nit having other smart features as many of the smart thermostats today but this one is smart enough for me. It was easy to install. Works aeemlessly. Is beautiful and connected to Alexa with no problems. ### 4/5 — Occupancy sensor *2020-07-25, version 1.2.76* I like the design of the stat,air quality monitor , c02 sensor and app. Cons -with occupancy sensor enabled operation is erratic and goes to away mode when you have scheduled for sleep temperatures. ### 3/5 — Thermostat Incorrectly Thinks That I Am AWAY *2020-12-26, version 1.2.76* I love my GLAS thermostat except that it’s thinks that I am AWAY when I am not. The thermostat uses sounds and other measures to determine if you are HOME or AWAY. My unit incorrectly determines that I am AWAY often and changes it’s setting. I find myself touching the screen every 45 minutes or so just to let it know that I am still HOME. I wish that it had an IWATCH app so that I could check/change its status remotely. This issue could partly be related to where the thermostat is located in my 2 story home. We are not always close to it. ### 3/5 — Doesn’t store your password *2020-02-13, version 1.2.76* Glas always works well for us. Occasionally, the Cortana “feature” would activate at random. We don’t have anyone in our family by that name. I disabled it. I’m guessing that when the app updates, we need to plug in our passwords. I never paid attention to the version numbers. I rarely use the app, but w when I need to make a quick adjustment, 90% of the time, I need to manually log in. Annoying. It’s quicker just to get up and walk over to the Glas. I know, first-world problems. ### 3/5 — Needs Improvements *2019-07-21, version 1.2.2* 1.). I agree the app is very slow to open. At least 20 seconds or more for the app to open. 2.) A very simple enhancement would be to add a lock with a pin to access the GLAS screen. This would make it more secure and keep people from looking and tapping the screen and making changes inadvertently. The pin is not needed for online reviews only at the thermostat. 3.) Adding 2 Factor authorization should be mandatory for all first time online access. This is becoming a standard with other apps and I wish they would consider adding this feature in future releases. 4.) The GLAS thermostat design is impressive. ### 3/5 — Not THAT bad *2019-07-19, version 1.2.2* Ok, yeah the app is kind of slow and yeah sometimes you have to restart it but overall it does what It’s supposed to do. I would like to see an update that addresses these issues. The actual thermostat is a beautiful unit but it needs a software update to add certain features I think a SMART thermostat should have . I’m glad I bought something different and so far I’m pretty happy with my purchase. ### 3/5 — SLOW APP - Debating Giving 2 Stars *2019-06-11, version 1.2.2* I don't write many reviews. However, I really want to see this app fix some, what I consider, major issues. I replaced a Nest Gen 3 that worked great with a Glas thermostat. I did it because Glas is flat out sexy. My may issues, which may make me switch back, is: #1 - The app takes FOREVER to open. By forever I mean 15-20 seconds easily. And I have an iPhone XS Max and 1 gig internet at home. So it's the app, not me. With my Nest I could open the app and access the temp in a few seconds. Glas app is annoying slow when opening. #2 - It's 2019, where is the geofencing? With Nest I had a perimeter of X miles away from my home the Nest would know I was away and raised the thermostat temp so I was not wasting money on the AC. The app needs access to the phones GPS, so this is just a programming change for Glas. #3 - The app has crashed several times. Not enough to make it unusable. #4 - Not an app issue, and not a deal breaker, but a portal on the Glas website to manage options would be handy. ### 3/5 — Connectivity *2019-01-11, version 1.2.1* I have noticed that I lose connection to my device. The app will either crash or when it does load I get a prompt that my GLAS is offline and I can not control it from afar. First time this happened a few hours later it worked. I now have not had connection for a full day. This is not good when I’m rarely home on business and I try to monitor my thermostat. My other home has a core and never had an issue. I hope they resolve this soon. It is a cool looking product but functionality is more important at the end of the day. ### 3/5 — Need more complete info *2018-09-16, version 1.1* Manual shows how to install but not how to use. People not familiar with swiping screen will not find air quality panel. Cortana not responding well to functions of GLAS. Need other options beside white back panel. How about black, silver or grey?
